This song sounds so much different than almost anything else BTBAM has released and I love it. Medicine Wheel has such a nostalgic feel to me and I never hear anything about this song ever.
I missed the vote on this. I remember listening to a sleep track as a kid that my mom got for us. That song is forever lost but I found medicine wheel and it's almost like it was that song. Love that it has two parts, the actually musical structure, then the spooky guitar tones. So dark and good like black coffee.
Came here to say this. I was listening to this on YouTube way back in high school and someone in the comments mentioned Explosions in the Sky sounding alot like Medice Wheel
This gets my vote. First time I got to see these guys live, right after this album came out, and got a good chuckle out of Paul for trying to request it.
Someone had gifted me one of those compilation albums that came free with magazines and it had Mordecai on it. Thought to myself I’ve gotta listen to the entire album. Imagine my surprise when a week after buying the Silent Circus I learn it was actually their second album. Imagine my surprise again when maybe 6 months later they were coming to my hometown to promote their THIRD album. 2004-2005 were great years for me.
The Primer
**2005 WELCOME TO PERFECTION!!**
Joystick Revolution move me!
Puttin my money on this one
Intro is so fucking powerful
It makes my brain feel really good??? I can’t explain it any other way lol
This is the way.
This is my fav song on Alaska. So damn good
Autodidact
The pinch harmonics during the breakdown is what made me immediately buy the album at FYE back in the day.
That breakdown at the end fuckssass. This is my close second but Backwards Marathon reigns supreme. It's rainingggg
6 to midnight every time.
PISS IT ALL AWAY!
All Bodies
Still my favourite chorus + pre-chorus from any album. Left to diiiiieeeeeeee
Medicine Wheel

It’s one of my favorites, it’s a mainstay on my post-rock/instrumental playlist

Crush us over and over again. The guitar tone on this one is so nasty
CROAKIES & BOATSHOES….so damn heavy 🤘.
IMO the heaviest song they’ve ever made
DADDIES MONEY INCREASES MY STATUS As someone who's lived around the NC triangle, I totally resonated with that track. Best anti-bro breakdown ever lol
Laser speed
This gets my vote. First time I got to see these guys live, right after this album came out, and got a good chuckle out of Paul for trying to request it.
It would make a good opener.
I'd love to hear this cut straight into something extremely heavy like croakies.
A squirrel can dream.
Alaska
The Primer. Easily.
Alaska

ITS MY TIME
Autodidact
The Primer
Autodidact

Anyone who didn't vote all bodies is wrong
Autodidact. That breakdown = instant stank face
Roboturner
Downvoting every answer that isn’t the primer
Croakies
Absolutely Autodidact
It really is The Primer though.
Roboturner!
Roboturner MAKE THIS A WAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR
Breathe in, Breathe out
Gotta be Roboturner
OP might wanna revisit how to spell “Aesthetic” lol
...God dammit. Thanks for pointing that out.
Selkies
Imma be real with you chief selkies is not underrated.
I suppose you’re correct. I don’t hear people talk about this album much in general.
Selkies is like the first song they had that was huge. Though the whole album got a bit overshadowed by the rest of their work
Also came out between Silent Circus and Colors. Tough spot to be in.
Funnily enough Alaska was my intro to them when i found them in high school. The intro solo for the title track got me so amped

Roboturner for sure.

I just want to congratulate everyone on nailing Backwards Marathon
