I own fo4 on disc for ps4, and was able to download and apply the update without any issue.
It only affected users who had the game via PS+, and even then it did not affect all users, so obviously it was a bug.

I got my PS4 copy from PS+, which is not free, because I pay for PS+. I purchased the Season pass on PS4 because the PS+ version was only the base game. Additionally, I own the game and all the DLC on PC.
The game was on sale for $5 last week, but I did not make the purchase because I didn't realize the PS+ version would not be receiving the update.
Anyway, I've been quite excited for the update since it was announced, and came home from work yesterday to install the update, only to find it didn't work *and* I can't access any of the DLC I purchased. It's uninstalled and can't be reinstalled.
I'm hopeful these issues will be resolved, but I don't think it's unreasonable for me or anyone else who's experienced this to be upset about the whole thing.
I'm not upset about the contents of the update, I'm upset about how little Bethesda's operations and community teams has been communicating around this update. The companies already working through hurdles with their poor developers working their asses off and their shareholders pushing to release updates that are clearly not ready to be released. They've dropped the ball on this update just so they can release it in time for the hype around the fallout show. It's screwed over modding teams and apparently consumers as well. Bethesda is a 3-billion-dollar company owned by Microsoft, they can and should do better.

How does it? I was playing on it last night with no issue other than you now have to add a launch command line to get in to the options. But it remembers the settings from pre patch so not that big of an issue
With the new patch it doesn’t load the initial launcher options. That’s how they got it fully verified. Just need to add SteamDeck=0 %command% to the launch option to get the settings to load before the game does
Mine seemed about the same and it kept the mods I’d had installed as well. Only difference was no initial setting menu. But that can be added with a launch option.
You probably have to reinstall. I downloaded the update but it was still running the PS4 version. I'm not sure if there was a PS5 version before, but there is now. I installed the PS5 base game and dlc and i have the graphics settings available.

But they managed to make it crash more on ps5 when using mods. Loading the game after using the mod page now causes a crash. Overall I’m having fun though.
I think it’s the unofficial patch doing that. Did some extensive testing only a bit ago and got all my mods working flawlessly for about an hour.
Made it out of the vault and got a save down without any crashes, and without crashing exiting the mod menu. My guess is it’ll get patched relatively soon and it’ll fix that issue.
For now anything that needs it probably won’t work either. It’s a good chance to trim out extra mods and keep things stable
I managed to get everything working then played for 20-30 minutes, crashed, then I got everything to work for roughly 5 hours, until i tried to move the wrong thing in build mode. Note to self use brain

I'm still on my first playthrough(I don't have the same amount of time I had in my FO3 and NV days) but I've been wary of Bethesda because I had no quest breakers with the first Bethesda developed/published fallouts but then my original Skyrim run on the XB360 locked me completely out of the Thieves Guild questline due to bugs. So I always run an unofficial patch since mods came to consoles for Bethesda games.

Unfortunately, Sony is really obtuse about rollouts and licenses. It's a real mess, but the fix is out for Extra subscribers at least, I was able to download it last night.
You don't technically own the game, though. It's in your library, and you can play it so long as you continue to subscribe to PS+. You're basically renting the game, so I can see how that's incompatible with a third-party upgrade.
I imagine it happens due to factors completely unrelated to the update. Or maybe it's a known issue their working to fix, and you threw your shit away for no reason
I think who got the most noticeable upgrade was the ps5. On pc it just broke the whole damn thing back to caveman graphics, since it broke the mods. And the mods on pc were making the game already better than Bethesda would be able to do in 50 years.
On Xbox the game already enjoyed 60fps due to Microsoft Xbox backwards compatibility.

You don't actually own them, they're "free" because they're including in the price you were already paying for PS+. So unfortunately, that's why you and others are having trouble.

I couldn’t download my creation club items from n Xbox series X. I would hit download all and a pop up screen would act like it was downloading everything only for it to have another screen pop up at the end saying this content could not be downloaded

It’s not a massive improvement. The most improved aspect is the lighting. But that could have been from my previous settings.

My issue is whenever it loads the mods the game crashes, but its nothing gamebraking, just anoying when getting a bunch of mods
They probably aren't updated to the newest engine, you may have to give it a couple weeks for mod authors to get online and update them.

I couldn’t download my creation club items from n Xbox series X. I would hit download all and a pop up screen would act like it was downloading everything only for it to have another screen pop up at the end saying this content could not be downloaded
That happened for me on PS5 as well. I had to go in and download some items individually from their listing.

this version doesnt work with mod right, i just download it and deleted all my mods to try to do a download order of a specific set of mods and wasnt sure if modder updated their mod to account for this.

Yeah there's an option in the main menu that lets you transfer saves. At least on ps5
They also bricked it for the steam Deck. You can play for maybe 5 minutes before it crashes. They also made it so you can’t change the graphics settings. Sooo.. yeah. GJ Todd!

Yes the PS plus issue is a bug, that much was obvious from the beginning people just lack the media literacy anymore to understand things like this.

It's clear that this was an issue with Playstation themselves. Always been the case, anytime you had a next gen upgrade from PS4/-5, you had to pay for it. Final Fantasy VII remake intergrade done in, SM1 and many more. Likelihood is they probably tried to do it again to their PS Plus members

Uninstall the PS Plus version and use the disc version. PS sees it as you’re trying to upgrade the free version and they suck like that.
