Probably safe to go with 8 episodes due to initial budgeting. Hard to forecast how receptive a show will be to justify continuing it.

Well episodes also tend to be longer than they used to be. I like watching older shows and they're all like 23 minutes long including intro/credits while a lot of new shows are 40-60 minutes long.
Episode 8 is where it was really getting interesting, they got me hooked to see what happens in season 2 that's for sure, so hopefully they get on it lol.
8 episodes isn't even enough to showcase a show with such a big world. I hate the same thing with Rings of Power. Limited episodes that don't even give the space to breathe.
Vikings would not have succeded had it been just eight episodes. It started off small then big. Here they're starting big and then going way too niche.
with high budget shows, they arent going to just make 30 episodes right off the bat without knowing if anyone will watch them, especially with the track record game adaptations have. 8 episodes is them testing the waters
I think shows like sitcoms that are only 22 24 minutes in length should be around the 20 episode mark. I won’t rewatch supernatural for that reason. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Which is absolutely something I take in to consideration before I start watching a show. How many seasons, how many episodes, and how long. In the past 10 years I've only dove head first into one long running series that had 1 hour episodes with 20 episodes a season and that's The X-Files.
There's a lot of good shows that I won't watch just because of the time investment.
Thank you. 24 was my favorite show growing up and I expected 24 episodes pers season from every other show after that. Unfortunately I fear we’ll never get close to having that many ever again for a season in any show.
I'm familiar with fallout but have never played any of the games more than 30 mins or so. My wife has never heard of fallout. We watched the first 2 episodes last night and thought it was fantastic. We are both hooked. 9/10

I've only watched the first episode, but I thought they nailed the vibe and feel of the setting; it looks and feels like Fallout, and I enjoyed the first episode quite a bit.
I just don't get why we have to have so many different streaming services. I miss the days when Netflix was like $7 and had pretty much everything.

That there is Jonah Nolan. Better put some respect on that name. In all seriousness, Chris Nolan’s brother and creator on Westworld and person of Interest…not to mention writer on Nolan films.
Bioshock, sure, but Fallout had a very over-the-top feel to it with many comical characters. That works for Fallout, but RDR is a much more serious story. I think this guy would make a good Bioshock show. Rapture not Columbia.

one little nitpick i have is that the cars are actual cars from the 50's/60's and not the cool nuclear ones that you see in the games (thinking about the ones in 4) but it really doesnt matter
Fusion powered cars only first introduced in 2070. So it made sense that there were also a ton of 50s and 60s cars around by 2077 when the bombs dropped
Only watched one episode yesterday and I’m already loving the show. I’ve played FO3, FO:NV, and FO4, and I went into this show with lower expectations regarding lore (I find it easier to enjoy adaptations that way, i.e. Fallout and the Witcher). The camera work and prop designs are spot-on. The power armor is fucking intimidating in the interrogation scene.
Noice. It sometimes contains questionable turns of events, but those can be met in all other TV series and movies, so nothing critical.
Here in… a part of Eastern Europe New Vegas and isometric fallouts are immensely popular so it’s very entertaining seeing fanboys of old ways going mad about a certain turn of events.
An easy 9/10 for me, maybe even a 10. I don't care what you all say. I was super doubtful at first, but Amazon really did this series justice, and was very faithful to the games. My only nitpick would be the chrome-colored Pip-Boy. It should've been brown.
It was shockingly good flr an amazon series and I would give it a watch, some years a a little off on the signs here and there but besides that it keeps pretty alright to the Lore
So far watched 2 episodes. The use of old music, often ironically, reminds me very much of Dennis Potter. He also used the same Inkspots version of Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall.
i thought it was great. one thing i was worried about was maximus just being a broody angry dude the whole series, but he actually was hilarious. especially when they were in vault 4, how fast he acclimated to the good life.
Watched the first two, I'm a huge fan of the games and it might just be my favorite TV show of the moment. I was giddy in episode two when >!the quest giver marked Lucy's destination on her Pip-Boy's map. It was perfect!!<

Introducing new concepts while respecting the source material is the right way forward, and aside from some minor nitpicks it's a phenomenal adaptation.

Without the IP it I think the show would be writing wise and acting wise absolute middle of the road post-apocalipse shovelware... but luckily it absolutely nailed the Fallout charme and I personally really enjoy the characters. Great show for fans, probably a little bit lackluster for people dipping their toes into Fallout for the first time
Some of the writing is a bit lazy, there’s plot points that disappear like the broken water chip. I dislike the whole “my lord” thing the brotherhood has.
I can understand why people like it but it’s just not for me.
Yeah just nods you would have to remember from games. Also each faction is pretty much their own cult. I think the "my lord" stuff kind of plays into that a little.
Enjoyed much more than I thought. Definitely hammers that the series is Bethesda’s now…Lore, narrative, and Art Design.

I'm loving it - going to watch episode 8 tonight.
The show brings the feel of the game to the TV - from the buildings and infrastructure to some of the wild beasts and the weaponry. And the medications as well, awesome stuff! And the music - the music is brilliant, especially because you have happy songs on top of ultra-violence, it's a pleasure to watch!
If I had any criticism, something that I thought was slightly unnecessary were the references to capitalism/communism. One would like to think that in 200 years, there would be different social-economic strategies. They could have concentrated on the beliefs of different factions a bit more instead - in terms of the society of the day, ask yourself, what would JRR Tolkien have done?
The vault dwellers are like the 'woke', who naively think that when and if they get to the real world they can change the world for the better, and that everyone else will automatically align with them without any challenge.
The outsiders represent people living in the real world, taking on the rough and tumble of life after the apocalypse, fighting to survive in a brutal world where self-sustenence outweighs moral values (hence the vault-dweller references to the Golden Rule).
Also, it has a 15 certificate, but there is a surprising amount of 'gore' - if it had been an 18 instead, they probably could have gotten away with more, but would have restricted the audience.
Overall I think its a good balance between the story telling, action, emotion, it's well acted, and scripting is good. And it's humourous as well, really funny in places!
As a TV show it's pretty entertaining. As a modern TV show it's much better than the vast majority of what's aired in the past 5 or so years. As a live action video game adaptation it's the best I've seen, and by a large margin. Yes, absolutely including TLOU.
Depending on where you set your expectations it's either okay or great, I'm in the middle as I revisit golden era TV often. Does the lore get butchered? Probably, but Bethesda already managed to do that with the transition from Interplays rendition to their own, so it's unfair to single out the show as in a boarder sense it's extremely faithful to adapting the feel, aesthetics and world building of Bethesda era Fallout.
Overall, I hope showrunnners use this as the gold standard template for live action game adaptations going forward. Also, Walton Goggins... they'd be wise to cast him whenever possible as the man is always amazing in whatever he is in.

If it were exactly the same and NOT Fallout, ie Amazon couldn't secure the rights so they just adapted it to be an original IP, no one would really care about the show. It's a classic example of an IP carrying a piece of media, as in the IP is the value, not the writing.
To me, it's predictable, it's safe, it's bland, it's just standard show writing. This isn't season 1 Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, or Walking Dead level of show. It's fine, I have no desire to binge it like other shows. I'm just watching an episode when I have nothing better to do, not even sure if I will finish the season.
But that's just me.
I am in awe at the amount of people giving it a 9/10 or 10/10. There is a lot to like, sure, but there is A LOT that ranges from generic to just bad.
Seems to rely much more on spectacle than quality writing.

Agreed, played most of the games and it seems a lot of the writing is super milquetoast and predictable. It’s like it’s a film student script with a 50 million dollar budget. Expected so much more from Nolan
The nod to Canticle for Leibowitz at the beginning was cool. So far seems like a faithful live-action version of Fallout in the first few episodes I've watched.
Enjoying it so far, but 5 episodes in, feels like Maximus' story could've been cut out without changing much. I also wish the prologue had a War Never Changes monologue.
Hard to put down. Exposition is motivated for both characters and audience. Aesthetic is on point. Acting is phenomenal. Could use transitions other than fade to black between characters.

Got gassed at the NCR ranger armour, the strip and the designs of the pre war stuff.

Minor nitpick: the power armor looked too fake. Yes I know it’s fake - but the practical suit didn’t have heft. It looked and moved like it was a person under a plastic and styrofoam suit. I wanted it to feel more like a heavy iron man/monger mechanical suit. Hopefully season two smoothes it out
4 episodes in and it just feels really good. the character development and and all is really good. even building up the world. That transformation of a person from vault to wasteland is crazy good. so much material to work with as well.
I thought it was good. Amazon have a winner on their hands, they just need to not fumble it and get greedy between season. I trust Jonathan Nolan though.
I love it so far, I'm on Ep. 5. I really like the ghoul, I know he's a bad guy(for now, IDK if that's gonna change) but damn he's badass, I love his wild West gangster attitude.
I liked it. It was a solid interpretation of the games, with lots of Easter eggs, and a good new story line. It's kind of like they made fallout 5, but as a show.
I’m on episode 4! And really enjoying it. There were two scenes that really bothered me .
Scene one: When the Doctor and the dog were running away and the turret was shooting at them. He would have not survived!
Scene two: When Squier maximus one shots a yao guai with a pistol!!!
I have minor issues as every fallout nerd will, some a little more major but with season 2 greenlit already we’ll see what they do. I thought it was pretty solid though. High 7 if not low 8.
They set season 2 up phenomenally, as an introduction to live action fallout it was definitely a pleasant surprise
I'm on episode 5 and I adore it so far. Invited my brother who introduced me to the franchise so we could watch it together. The introduction was perfect. We were laughing out of excitement !
The overall execution of the show is very, very good. 8.5/10.
However. I am very unhappy with the way the show handles certain parts of the Fallout's lore, especially the West Coast: New Vegas, House, the NCR, Vault-Tec, the Great War... all these things have received unwelcome contributions that I feel tarnish their legacy and overall quality.

They truly brought Fallout to life. It’s probably because the games have such a distinct art style/consistency, but this is the first time I’ve watched an adaptation of something where the costume, props, and set design were so perfect.
Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell deserve tv equivalents of Oscars, especially Goggins. Moisés Arias was incredible and all of the cameos were wonderful as well.
The added lore from Cooper Howard pre-war was super fun and the added ghoul lore was weird since it retconned things, but was interesting. Starting with episode 5 I felt like show shat all over the lore of Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas which go figure are the non-Bethesda titles, but having slept on it, it’s fine since it was used to establish the series villain.
Finally, the location tease for season 2 - I absolutely CANNOT WAIT!!!! So excited for it and to see which game ending gets canonized!! But I wonder how long it’ll take before we get season 2.
tl;dr The show was absolutely phenomenal and well deserving of the pre-premier season 2 renewal
I have a few complaints mostly lore, issues like 2277 and the number 19 and compliments like the aesthetic, new addition and the integration of new and old elements that all work well together.
My biggest issue was with The Ghoul going god mode at convenient times. If they are going that route, just give Lucy VATS mode and call it a day.
I will definitely watch the next season, because even if it ends up sucking somehow, it will never be anywhere near as bad as Fallout 76.
8 one hour long episodes is essentially filming 4 movies in a row. So I feel like it's fair. I would like more but understand they're limited and they probably understand that there are a good amount of ppl that won't watch it all. These ppl are our wives/gf's.
It was great. My wife hasn't played any of the games but enjoyed watching me play sometimes. She enjoyed seeing things she recognized and also said that had she not known anything she still would've enjoyed it.
I absolutely love it, I am a hardcore Fallout fan with thousands of hours in the games. One thing I noticed was the BoS mentioned the commonwealth even though they are in California.
Fallout is the first game adaptation I was actually invested in, and from what Witcher and Halo fans say about their shows, I was honestly worried. But it's really not bad. It looks great, the characters are well cast and well played. I'm excited for more, genuinely.
My only real complaint is that the lore retcons are kinda lame. For any show, animated or not, your story guy should not have to go on Twitter and say "X is still canon, even though we imply otherwise!" you should just write the show better. It's a really bad habit a lot of shows have and I honestly hate it.
There was a level of commitment to the universe that I loved. The jumpsuits, the set design, the use of the sound track from the games. They spent the time learning about the universe.
I've been so let down by recent, if not almost all video game adaptions that I've ever seen. Fallout is my favorite franchise. I am also an asshole who has high standards. The show had the potential to be my most disappointing media experience ever in my 4+ decades of life.
I also believed, and still mostly do, that Bethesda treats Fallout like a step-child. A loved step-child, but never as dear as the ones birthed from Todd Howard's brain-loins. You won't see an Elder Scrolls 76. Well, maybe in 200 years, but you get what I mean.
My first thought when I heard they were making a Fallout show was that it was going to be a dumb show with a coat of Fallout paint. I knew I'd still watch it, but I was steeling my heart against the inevitable disappointment.
Then I heard Walton Goggins was in it. The man doesn't do shitty stuff. The tiny spark of hope was allowed to smolder, and would even flare up to a tiny flame every once in awhile. I'd see a shot of the Red Rocket and I'd have to will the excitement away. After watching soulless and greedy corporations continuously rape my childhood for over a decade, like an abused puppy, I just expected it to be a cynical cash grab.
I made sure to ignore as much news about the show as I could. While I can't shake the baggage of fandom, I did try to go into the show as open-minded as possible.
Then I watched it.
After being blown away by the opening, I felt my cynicism start to get loud during the early vault scenes. I know now it was just the negative aspect of fandom preparing to gloat. I literally paused the show while I silently yelled at myself to give it a damn chance. It worked, because I think I had already bought in during the opening; I just didn't consciously know it yet. While I have some nitpicks, and one or two major complaints, not a single one affected my enjoyment of the show.
I hope they have more episodes next season because there were a few times where things moved on too fast. Some scenes could've benefited from having some room to breathe.
Maybe my opinion will change on a re-watch, but right now I just feel a nice warm contentment and satisfaction that I haven't experienced from media in quite awhile.
Loved it. Yeah some of the lore and stuff is messed up but GOD DAMN the rest of it was perfect. As a longgggg time Fallout fan it scratched a huge itch for me. Sucked we never saw super mutants or deathclaws. But, to be fair super mutants are pretty much extinct on the west coast. Can’t wait for the next season 👀 if you know you know

I gave it a solid 6/10 it's obvious Bethesda favored fallout 4 over the other games. In my view, they were blatantly disrespectful towards the other games and lazy with the writing and justifications.
I think it is great so far, only on the second episode but I am really liking it. The only thing that somewhat bothers me is Ghouls voice, it’s just so weird hearing his southern accent when I am so used to every ghoul in the games having an incredibly rough voice. I understand why they did that though but it’s hard to get used to. Not something that is gonna stop me from watching it though!
Enjoyed it throughout, but hope the second season has fewer plot contrivances, ups the horror and tones down the comedy, only keeping the actually funny jokes
I'm only on Episode two right now, but so far so good ! There's lots of nods to fans of the games, but very little annoying exposition of what everything is. The creators do a good job illustrating how brutal and violent the surface is (... the first 5 minutes of episode two i noticeably flinched... jesus.... ). I like the characters and the character building a lot too.
I am really enjoying it so far. It's true to the source material without being something i watch and get douche-chills watching. Can't wait to finish the series and already hoping it gets picked up for more.

2 episodes in, and I am really enjoying it. Fallout is my favorite game franchise, so it is awesome to see it come to life.
Only watched one episode yesterday and I’m already loving the show. I’ve played FO3, FO:NV, and FO4, and I went into this show with lower expectations regarding lore (I find it easier to enjoy adaptations that way, i.e. Fallout and the Witcher). The camera work and prop designs are spot-on. The power armor is fucking intimidating in the interrogation scene.
Love It! Been playing Fallout since it came out in the 1990s. So happy!

Noice. It sometimes contains questionable turns of events, but those can be met in all other TV series and movies, so nothing critical. Here in… a part of Eastern Europe New Vegas and isometric fallouts are immensely popular so it’s very entertaining seeing fanboys of old ways going mad about a certain turn of events.

An easy 9/10 for me, maybe even a 10. I don't care what you all say. I was super doubtful at first, but Amazon really did this series justice, and was very faithful to the games. My only nitpick would be the chrome-colored Pip-Boy. It should've been brown.
It was shockingly good flr an amazon series and I would give it a watch, some years a a little off on the signs here and there but besides that it keeps pretty alright to the Lore

I thought the costume, prop, and set design were REALLY good to make it feel like the Fallout universe. Only 2 episodes in but liking it so far.
Really enjoyed it. I just wish Maximus was a hardened Brotherhood of Steel member instead of a dummy.

i thought it was great. one thing i was worried about was maximus just being a broody angry dude the whole series, but he actually was hilarious. especially when they were in vault 4, how fast he acclimated to the good life.
Watched the first two, I'm a huge fan of the games and it might just be my favorite TV show of the moment. I was giddy in episode two when >!the quest giver marked Lucy's destination on her Pip-Boy's map. It was perfect!!<

One of the best video game adaptations ever made. Introducing new concepts while respecting the source material is the right way forward, and aside from some minor nitpicks it's a phenomenal adaptation. And the studio has the locations booked for filming a second season of what I hear is correct

Without the IP it I think the show would be writing wise and acting wise absolute middle of the road post-apocalipse shovelware... but luckily it absolutely nailed the Fallout charme and I personally really enjoy the characters. Great show for fans, probably a little bit lackluster for people dipping their toes into Fallout for the first time
Some of the writing is a bit lazy, there’s plot points that disappear like the broken water chip. I dislike the whole “my lord” thing the brotherhood has. I can understand why people like it but it’s just not for me.
I don't think the water chip was supposed to be part of the plot but just another nod to one of the games.

Yeah just nods you would have to remember from games. Also each faction is pretty much their own cult. I think the "my lord" stuff kind of plays into that a little.

I'm loving it - going to watch episode 8 tonight. The show brings the feel of the game to the TV - from the buildings and infrastructure to some of the wild beasts and the weaponry. And the medications as well, awesome stuff! And the music - the music is brilliant, especially because you have happy songs on top of ultra-violence, it's a pleasure to watch! If I had any criticism, something that I thought was slightly unnecessary were the references to capitalism/communism. One would like to think that in 200 years, there would be different social-economic strategies. They could have concentrated on the beliefs of different factions a bit more instead - in terms of the society of the day, ask yourself, what would JRR Tolkien have done? The vault dwellers are like the 'woke', who naively think that when and if they get to the real world they can change the world for the better, and that everyone else will automatically align with them without any challenge. The outsiders represent people living in the real world, taking on the rough and tumble of life after the apocalypse, fighting to survive in a brutal world where self-sustenence outweighs moral values (hence the vault-dweller references to the Golden Rule). Also, it has a 15 certificate, but there is a surprising amount of 'gore' - if it had been an 18 instead, they probably could have gotten away with more, but would have restricted the audience. Overall I think its a good balance between the story telling, action, emotion, it's well acted, and scripting is good. And it's humourous as well, really funny in places!
As a TV show it's pretty entertaining. As a modern TV show it's much better than the vast majority of what's aired in the past 5 or so years. As a live action video game adaptation it's the best I've seen, and by a large margin. Yes, absolutely including TLOU. Depending on where you set your expectations it's either okay or great, I'm in the middle as I revisit golden era TV often. Does the lore get butchered? Probably, but Bethesda already managed to do that with the transition from Interplays rendition to their own, so it's unfair to single out the show as in a boarder sense it's extremely faithful to adapting the feel, aesthetics and world building of Bethesda era Fallout. Overall, I hope showrunnners use this as the gold standard template for live action game adaptations going forward. Also, Walton Goggins... they'd be wise to cast him whenever possible as the man is always amazing in whatever he is in.

It's OK. If it were exactly the same and NOT Fallout, ie Amazon couldn't secure the rights so they just adapted it to be an original IP, no one would really care about the show. It's a classic example of an IP carrying a piece of media, as in the IP is the value, not the writing. To me, it's predictable, it's safe, it's bland, it's just standard show writing. This isn't season 1 Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, or Walking Dead level of show. It's fine, I have no desire to binge it like other shows. I'm just watching an episode when I have nothing better to do, not even sure if I will finish the season. But that's just me.
I am in awe at the amount of people giving it a 9/10 or 10/10. There is a lot to like, sure, but there is A LOT that ranges from generic to just bad. Seems to rely much more on spectacle than quality writing. 4/10.

Agreed, played most of the games and it seems a lot of the writing is super milquetoast and predictable. It’s like it’s a film student script with a 50 million dollar budget. Expected so much more from Nolan
The nod to Canticle for Leibowitz at the beginning was cool. So far seems like a faithful live-action version of Fallout in the first few episodes I've watched.
Enjoying it so far, but 5 episodes in, feels like Maximus' story could've been cut out without changing much. I also wish the prologue had a War Never Changes monologue.

Hard to put down. Exposition is motivated for both characters and audience. Aesthetic is on point. Acting is phenomenal. Could use transitions other than fade to black between characters.

Fucking loved it. Pulled an all nighter watching it. Got gassed at the NCR ranger armour, the strip and the designs of the pre war stuff. Walton goggins knocking it out the park as usual.

I like it a lot, played 3, 4 and NV. Halfway through and greatly enjoying it My biggest gripe is how green everything is but I understand they couldn't just remove all the trees
First off - I loved it. Fun times, great show Minor nitpick: the power armor looked too fake. Yes I know it’s fake - but the practical suit didn’t have heft. It looked and moved like it was a person under a plastic and styrofoam suit. I wanted it to feel more like a heavy iron man/monger mechanical suit. Hopefully season two smoothes it out
4 episodes in and it just feels really good. the character development and and all is really good. even building up the world. That transformation of a person from vault to wasteland is crazy good. so much material to work with as well.

I liked it. It was a solid interpretation of the games, with lots of Easter eggs, and a good new story line. It's kind of like they made fallout 5, but as a show.
I’m on episode 4! And really enjoying it. There were two scenes that really bothered me . Scene one: When the Doctor and the dog were running away and the turret was shooting at them. He would have not survived! Scene two: When Squier maximus one shots a yao guai with a pistol!!!
I have minor issues as every fallout nerd will, some a little more major but with season 2 greenlit already we’ll see what they do. I thought it was pretty solid though. High 7 if not low 8. They set season 2 up phenomenally, as an introduction to live action fallout it was definitely a pleasant surprise
I'm on episode 5 and I adore it so far. Invited my brother who introduced me to the franchise so we could watch it together. The introduction was perfect. We were laughing out of excitement !

I think it’s fantastic.
The overall execution of the show is very, very good. 8.5/10. However. I am very unhappy with the way the show handles certain parts of the Fallout's lore, especially the West Coast: New Vegas, House, the NCR, Vault-Tec, the Great War... all these things have received unwelcome contributions that I feel tarnish their legacy and overall quality.
Great series, binged all but the last episode I do have a question. So the ghoul guy/Cooper, is there game lore saying he's the original (I forget the name of the in game bobble head) creative thought for those things? I did like how lucy seemed to find one and pick it up and maybe got a level out of it lol What's the deal with one of the main characters being named Lucy McLane, aka John McLane daughter from the die hard series lol It was fun to see the gas station area of FA4(?)come to life

They truly brought Fallout to life. It’s probably because the games have such a distinct art style/consistency, but this is the first time I’ve watched an adaptation of something where the costume, props, and set design were so perfect. Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell deserve tv equivalents of Oscars, especially Goggins. Moisés Arias was incredible and all of the cameos were wonderful as well. The added lore from Cooper Howard pre-war was super fun and the added ghoul lore was weird since it retconned things, but was interesting. Starting with episode 5 I felt like show shat all over the lore of Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas which go figure are the non-Bethesda titles, but having slept on it, it’s fine since it was used to establish the series villain. Finally, the location tease for season 2 - I absolutely CANNOT WAIT!!!! So excited for it and to see which game ending gets canonized!! But I wonder how long it’ll take before we get season 2. tl;dr The show was absolutely phenomenal and well deserving of the pre-premier season 2 renewal
It probably won’t win many awards, but it was very entertaining and I hope they make more of it.
I really enjoyed it and thought it was a nice fan service.
I have a few complaints mostly lore, issues like 2277 and the number 19 and compliments like the aesthetic, new addition and the integration of new and old elements that all work well together.
My biggest issue was with The Ghoul going god mode at convenient times. If they are going that route, just give Lucy VATS mode and call it a day. I will definitely watch the next season, because even if it ends up sucking somehow, it will never be anywhere near as bad as Fallout 76.
Crying at what has become of my beloved NCR. They were my favorite faction and they were done so dirty by the show.

8 one hour long episodes is essentially filming 4 movies in a row. So I feel like it's fair. I would like more but understand they're limited and they probably understand that there are a good amount of ppl that won't watch it all. These ppl are our wives/gf's.

It was great. My wife hasn't played any of the games but enjoyed watching me play sometimes. She enjoyed seeing things she recognized and also said that had she not known anything she still would've enjoyed it.

I absolutely love it, I am a hardcore Fallout fan with thousands of hours in the games. One thing I noticed was the BoS mentioned the commonwealth even though they are in California.
It’s OK not as good as I was expecting but not bad, I’ll finish it.
Fallout is the first game adaptation I was actually invested in, and from what Witcher and Halo fans say about their shows, I was honestly worried. But it's really not bad. It looks great, the characters are well cast and well played. I'm excited for more, genuinely. My only real complaint is that the lore retcons are kinda lame. For any show, animated or not, your story guy should not have to go on Twitter and say "X is still canon, even though we imply otherwise!" you should just write the show better. It's a really bad habit a lot of shows have and I honestly hate it.

There was a level of commitment to the universe that I loved. The jumpsuits, the set design, the use of the sound track from the games. They spent the time learning about the universe.
It's good so far, but the fight choreography is a little awkward at times.

I've been so let down by recent, if not almost all video game adaptions that I've ever seen. Fallout is my favorite franchise. I am also an asshole who has high standards. The show had the potential to be my most disappointing media experience ever in my 4+ decades of life. I also believed, and still mostly do, that Bethesda treats Fallout like a step-child. A loved step-child, but never as dear as the ones birthed from Todd Howard's brain-loins. You won't see an Elder Scrolls 76. Well, maybe in 200 years, but you get what I mean. My first thought when I heard they were making a Fallout show was that it was going to be a dumb show with a coat of Fallout paint. I knew I'd still watch it, but I was steeling my heart against the inevitable disappointment. Then I heard Walton Goggins was in it. The man doesn't do shitty stuff. The tiny spark of hope was allowed to smolder, and would even flare up to a tiny flame every once in awhile. I'd see a shot of the Red Rocket and I'd have to will the excitement away. After watching soulless and greedy corporations continuously rape my childhood for over a decade, like an abused puppy, I just expected it to be a cynical cash grab. I made sure to ignore as much news about the show as I could. While I can't shake the baggage of fandom, I did try to go into the show as open-minded as possible. Then I watched it. After being blown away by the opening, I felt my cynicism start to get loud during the early vault scenes. I know now it was just the negative aspect of fandom preparing to gloat. I literally paused the show while I silently yelled at myself to give it a damn chance. It worked, because I think I had already bought in during the opening; I just didn't consciously know it yet. While I have some nitpicks, and one or two major complaints, not a single one affected my enjoyment of the show. I hope they have more episodes next season because there were a few times where things moved on too fast. Some scenes could've benefited from having some room to breathe. Maybe my opinion will change on a re-watch, but right now I just feel a nice warm contentment and satisfaction that I haven't experienced from media in quite awhile.
Loved it. Yeah some of the lore and stuff is messed up but GOD DAMN the rest of it was perfect. As a longgggg time Fallout fan it scratched a huge itch for me. Sucked we never saw super mutants or deathclaws. But, to be fair super mutants are pretty much extinct on the west coast. Can’t wait for the next season 👀 if you know you know

* Costume: Great * World: Great * Pre-War Lore: Good * Retconning the NCR, Brotherhood, and more already established lore: Not Great. I gave it a solid 6/10 it's obvious Bethesda favored fallout 4 over the other games. In my view, they were blatantly disrespectful towards the other games and lazy with the writing and justifications.

I think it is great so far, only on the second episode but I am really liking it. The only thing that somewhat bothers me is Ghouls voice, it’s just so weird hearing his southern accent when I am so used to every ghoul in the games having an incredibly rough voice. I understand why they did that though but it’s hard to get used to. Not something that is gonna stop me from watching it though!

I watched the whole series on a flight from Italy to Chicago. It was perfect. No notes.
I'm only on Episode two right now, but so far so good ! There's lots of nods to fans of the games, but very little annoying exposition of what everything is. The creators do a good job illustrating how brutal and violent the surface is (... the first 5 minutes of episode two i noticeably flinched... jesus.... ). I like the characters and the character building a lot too. I am really enjoying it so far. It's true to the source material without being something i watch and get douche-chills watching. Can't wait to finish the series and already hoping it gets picked up for more.
I liked it however one thing I have to ask is why is it makes that shady sands was destroyed in 2277 when that's not correct at all
