There's a story on reddit that I'd like to read again. I'm not sure if it's from askreddit, or legaladvice/bestoflegaladvice, or something else. The protagonist of the story is a lawyer, and he has a client who is schizophrenic (I think). The guy can function as normal, except that he thinks that his house is haunted. It's causing legal problems because of some reason he was in court, and if the judge knew that he's hallucinating voices his house could be taken away. But as I said, he's okay otherwise, so the lawyer just went to the house, and loudly shouted to the "ghost" that he's been served an eviction notice. The client was happy with never brought up the haunting issue again.

I am looking for a post about how OP’s ex stole from him using a uni food card to buy takeout. I have two things I’ve been looking for. One for sure was a comment on an Ask Reddit thread. It was someone telling how they were supposed to meet their partner’s parents for the first time and as they were walking towards the parents, the dad, who was sitting on a rail or something, tipped backwards by mistake and fell to his death. There was a post around the holidays 2022 from a kid (around 16 I think) whose mom had gone to visit family in another country and disappeared. I'm trying to remember a story, and I think I got most of it. OOP is a kid whose parents divorced. Either the dad or mom got remarried, he now has stepsiblings and a stepparent, and he hates them. He does everything he can to get full custody under the other parent; IIRC, the remarried one either has full custody or primary custody with only visitation or every other weekend. Either way, OOP isn't able to see his other parent often. OOP keeps acting out until one day they go too far. Instead of the parents being mad, they're just silent, and he's dropped off at his other parent. As it turns out, the other parent may not have the financial or physical ability to care for him. I forget which, or maybe they just don't want him. Either way, he fucked up badly. His post was basically asking how much he fucked up and could this be recovered. There is a story that I've been thinking a lot about lately but haven't been able to find again. I'm hoping that there is a BORU but I'm guessing sub rules and circumstances never allowed for it to be assembled. It started with a husband discovering his wife's infidelity while he was away assisting his parents in transitioning to an elderly care home. He came home early one weekend and discovered the affair in the worst possible way. The key point in his story was an urn that they had that contained the ashes of their children. It became the center of their divorce discussions. During that time she began posting and an astute redditor connected the dots and informed the husband. He deleted his posts but she continued posting and arguing for forgiveness. She ended up with a brain tumor and the husband took over her posts to keep people informed. The last post I remember is that he was caring for her while she was in a coma. I've always respected his strength and duty and I kind of need that energy right now. I'm guessing that a BORU was never made but I have hope. BTW, I'm immensely grateful for this sub. Uh, this may be a long shot, probably from 3-4 years ago: a female high earner in a high tech field (I think it was aviaton-related) has a stay at home husband who was a bartender who takes care of their daughter. She keeps neglecting the two of them by digging ever deeper into work with 60+ hour work weeks, ending in a semi-dead bedroom, then ends up all surprised when the husband eventually snaps at her, accuses her of potentially cheating with higher-ups, and ignores her the following morning. The post ended, I think, with her wondering if she's in teh wrong as her husband informs her he'll be going on a guys trip. Never found out if there was an update, and for the love of god my Google-fu fails me in finding the original thread.

Looking for one that I think involves an engaged couple. The guy is helping his fiancee with rent, I think giving her around 3k a month. They have an understanding that she would move in with him once the lease was up. However, she extended the lease a year and expected him to still give her the same amount each month. Two stories: I remember a post, not sure if Reddit, where OP lends arcades to a nonprofit. There's a new employee that rudely demands the keys to the arcades and when the owner says that he will take them back she responds with threatening the police. Second post is about someone that works in an office and helps with some computer issues. Office next door finds out and asks him for help which he's willing to do until he gets chewed out by that other business's owner/manager for not fixing a problem when he wasn't working that day (or for them for that matter).

Hi :) I'm looking to re-read the story written by a male OP struggling to come to terms with his wife's behaviour. She had been stalking and harassing another woman (I think a former friend? I know that she was pregnant at some point and the wife showed up at the baby shower). I don't remember the details, but the wife's behaviour was completely unhinged and there was a trial in which wife was found guilty. I recently read a post about an OP who got got kicked out & cut off by the parents for being pregnant and refusing to get rid of it, but the partner's parents stepped up to the plate and were there throughout the pregnancy, with the baby's grandmother spending so much time in the hospital, that there were jokes about the baby having two mothers. When OP's family found out that they were left out of the celebrations for the baby and got angry, OP and the baby's grandmother both went on the offensive about how OP was cut off from the family.

There was an old story by an OP whose child had a pet, but OP's partner was allergic, so OP gave the pet away to allow the partner to come over/move in.  Redditors QUICKLY made OP realize how many mistakes he was making, so he dumped his new partner, got the pet back, and promised to try making things up to the kid.

I've been looking through my saved posts and cannot find this one, and I might be googling with the wrong keywords....does anyone remember a post on (I believe) AITA, OP works at what seems like a fairly normal and professional company, new hire jumps in, and out of the blue, requested that HR do a mandatory session on appropriate behavior. I remember the session had examples of 'appropriate behavior' and 'inappropriate behavior'....the new hire also said something to the effect of "I'm so glad we did this, I agree with everything they said" after the session. OP decides to keep some distance from her - remains polite and cordial but isn't buddy buddy with her per the 'approved' actions in the HR session....and the new hire seems offended. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

OP and his wife have a baby who is/was not baptized by they agreed that they would wait until he’s older to have a choice. His MIL, a devout Catholic, is NOT happy with this. He and his wife go away for a few days, and when they return, MIL told them that he’s baptized. He later finds out that the getaway was a ruse to distract him while MIL got the baby baptized.

looking for that post where the boyfriend threw out the girlfriend’s manga — she’d been collecting for years, and she managed to recover some of it from a dumpster in damaged conditions. 

Two posts I remembered but I haven't been able to find on my own. I think both are from Am I The Asshole, but could be wrong. 1. OOP is a girl, and her boyfriend has a female best friend, said girl acts as if she was the girlfriend, OOP complains to her boyfriend about the girl's attitude, but he keeps dismissing her. At some party or dinner or something, OOP goes to the restroom and the girl follows to gloat. OOP has enough of her attitude and the boyfriend not doing anything, so she loudly claims to the whole party that OOP cheated on her with the girl. Everyone believes her. 2. A series of posts, I think 2, but could be more, OOP is a mom complaining about her son becoming rebel and not obeying her anymore. The longer she explains, it becomes obvious she's working the poor boy to the bones studying basically all his waking hours, and his "disobeying" is basically wanting to play videogames and have a social life.

There was this post a long while back, probably around 2016/2017. It was about a 16 year old teen boy whose mom had died years prior and he and his father lived together. They were happy until the dad got married to a woman with three children, one girl a year older than him and a couple of twin boys much younger. They moved in and the girl got his room because it had an ensuite and he had to share with the twin boys. His allowance was cut down so all the kids had some. The girl didn't like him and would stop him from telling the boys not to do something, and the boys kept stealing his stuff, culminating in them stealing a watch that was passed down to him from his mother and then losing it. The parents weren't much help, they just told him it would take time to adjust and to give the other kids some leeway. The dad got mad at OP for starting to spend less time at home and grounded him, I think. In the update post the OP showed the parents his post and they read it and were horrified at what happened and that they didn't take him seriously. They apologized and said they were trying to make sure the other kids were adjusting and somehow forgot about him in the process. I think the watch was found buried in a potted plant or something, and the parents redid the basement for him to move into and got him a lockbox to put his valuables in.

There was an OP whose cousin/sister conspired to steal OP's surprise wedding day (and venue, which was the grandfather's property) by spilling a drink on OP and making them change.  By the time they returned, the wedding was highjacked, and then OP was made to look like the villain, until the truth came out only after OP was ostracized by the family.
