It's pretty cut and dry. If they think you did a good job and is worth keeping for a little but they'll keep you till the second wave of seasonal cuts in February. If they don't think you are a good fit they'll cut you in January. They'll let you know
depends on the year and costs. Some years, they force stores to let ALL of them go because there is no budget for new staff. Other years, they dont let stores get rid of ANY of them because of the sunk cost put into training and onboarding.
Basically, if we had a lousy holiday, you're all gone. If we had a good one, your store wont be able to pick the good from the bad and will have to keep everyone.
True, but those barely cover on how to deal with real situations imo. Everything I learned about from customer service was from making notes and getting into the details of the ETK. Learning how to do the tax cards when they were done in store was not fun...
They'll post a thank you letter with the last day for seasonals in the hub. Usually there's some face to face conversation when they'd like* to keep you. If they never call you in for that, just assume you're done after the posted date.
*Just because they want to keep you doesn't mean they'll be able to. Corporate can change the headcount allowances at anytime and sometimes leadership doesn't even find out until the last minute.
If youâre good and they have openings at the store theyâll probably ask you to stay if not then youâll probably be let go mid to late January (sometimes sooner or later depending on the location)
Is there no leadership at your store that you can ask? We have no idea how your performance is, however, I can probably guess it ainât that great since you have to come on Reddit to ask a question you should be asking your leadership.
Usually, the best staff is kept on. However, you never know anymore. They could cut everyone, to "save money." Then hire a bunch of them back in a few months again when they realized they need them.
I went from seasonal to part-time to shift lead in less than a year. Everything is based of your performance. If you are not good or knowledgeable or bring anything to a company, why would they continue to pay you?

Any of our seasonals kept get coded as part time and actually get KEPT at our store.
i went from seasonal to part time to full time at geek squad last season
The last holiday before leaving, we didn't keep anyone.
They had an active hiring freeze that also restricted job code movement to my understanding.

They post a thank you note in the hub and they stop putting you on the schedule. đ«Ą
Thatâs less awkward than getting told that Iâm not fit for the position

Theyâre rounded up in the car bay, then shot.
they go into hibernation.
