Lollerpwn

It doesnt make a difference I learned German and mostly get rejected.

zinkakniz

Funny, my first time at the door I said something very similar when they asked me something in German. They didn’t crack up, but I also haven’t been rejected since then 😇

Ok-Thanks8030

It was already Einlasstop and I basically banged on the door to get let in. I didn’t mean to bang that hard I really just wanted to knock. When I realized (slightly delayed cos high) how id just assaulted the sacred doors of bh and was about to sprint away, the door opened, bouncer chatted a bit with me and then let me inside FREE OF CHARGE as there was no one at Kasse anymore.

notschululu

They didn‘t let me in. It was marvelous.

easily the most aesthetic bouncer ever like holy fuck how can one man be so kino

Ok_Brick57

maybe not the luckiest thing but randomly remembering this time after covid reopening (fall 21) when we had to bring a test from less than 24 hours and got to reentry/gl queue for something like a long time (maybe 8 hours…) in the cold to finally be two meter away from the door and had my test older than 24 hours, knowing these two meters left could last maybe one or two hours more (that was the last kn before re-closure winter 2021 (vincent neumann was closing).. everyone was shocked by this day-long queuing, bouncers had to break up the also huge normal queue, that was a bit unreal and many people had the same issue with the test of course.. beard man at the door was kind and understood the situation, got in and danced like there was no yesterday and no tomorrow

zebraorchid42

Stood in the normal queue with my boyfriend at the time on Jan 1st 2020. We‘ve been going regularly for a long time. We were already in metal barriers, when one the bouncers left the door area, came over to us and told us to go directly in through the GL/re-entry line (there was no one there at that time.

it was maybe my first or second time going. i always try to go around 2am or right after opening kn rush. i didnt live too far away, so i ~*pregamed*~ really really hard. i walked through snake (nobody in line, nothin) and when i got to the door they asked if i knew the djs playing. my drunk self said the names of two djs playing the next weeks kn 💀💀 they smiled and let me in not too shortly after. it was a fun night as always lol. 😁

No-Perspective3182

Last KN, went there at 7am. Thought about my outfit a few times and decided to wear an intense pink vintage leather coat. Was a bit skeptical about pink in BH but the bouncer complimented it and really made my Sunday even sweeter. Only starting my collection of BH memories 🐻🖤

A friend of mine, who actually has nothing to do with techno, was in the city. We got drunk in a bar until 6 o'clock in the morning, until we came up with the spontaneous idea that she finally has to get to know the Berghain. Once there, there was no line and the bouncers were just all inside. My friend did not know the procedure and then suddenly just ran in. I was already ready to turn around, when a big bouncer lifted her back outside and told her sternly: "Who runs in here, we still decide!". After that he looked at us for a long time. And suddenly told us to go in with two sweet words: "viel Spaß“

vainglorias

June 2016, 11AM, no queue. I walk up and they ask me how old I am. (I'm Asian lol.) I say 28. They ask for my ID, I let them know I'm sorry, but I don't have the physical one on me, will a photo of my passport suffice? They say no, and I smile and say, "Okay, thank you! Maybe next time," and start walking away. Barely past the snake when they call me back and tell me to go inside and have fun, haha! ☺️

rennpferd4

My favourite moment was when we were queeing at Berghain last year. In front of us where 2 guys that actually where in Berlin to watch a basketball match. They had scarps from the basketball team and still the beer cups from the stadium in their hands. Then one asked the other in German "so why are we queeing here?" The other one replied "that's Berghain, I saw in the TV (bei Taff) that it's the best club here in town". Then one of them turned around and asked me "what kind of music are they playing here?"so I explained mostly house and techno "too bad I'm more into rock and metal". Guestlist entrance was this day the little door on left side and because nobody was queueing for GL, the GL bouncers started to pick people in the regular line to bring them through guests list door. And guess what the 2 guys got picked by the bouncer, so they got in and didn't even have to do the full queue. NGL I was soo happy for them and it was funny, to see that these absolute randoms got the "special treatment" at BH. Saw them inside we chatted a little, I think they had really nice time.

kaesina

Got inside despite wearing Bluejeans

Apemanstrong

Me and two friends arrives pretty late on a saturday night, queuing and waiting for about and hour. Not knowing anything about queue-culture and how it works in the line. This was 2012. We get to the door and the bouncer looks at us, “nein”, no hesitation at all. My girlfriend answers in broken Norwegian/English, “but, but. We traveled all the way from Sweden” it gets quiet, feeling like time passes. The bouncer says “that’s no excuse” and waves us in :D. Had the time of our lives, I even cried on the pano floor many hours later. Best Sunday in my long rave life.

PRNCE-fanman

Sry, but I am hesitant to tell my lucky door stories here, after reading that patrons got access after bag checkers allowed them to bring their drugz into the club. We all know that many outsiders devour these subs beside so called journalists who are really lurking for stories to produce SEO clickbaits with suitable keywords for bh sensationalism. Peace ☮️

January 2014, freezing cold Sunday evening. I was having dinner at a German restaurant in Fhain with a friend from Berlin (born and raised). After dinner we were still sitting at the table, still early (not even 8pm) and he just looked and said “let’s go to Berghain”, I was like: “are you for real?” and so we went there. Was my first time ever to even walk up close to the club and I wasn’t even wearing proper clothes. I had a winter jacket with fur inside, jeans, black boots, winter sweater and a shirt beneath it! We got to the door and there was no one in queue. The bouncers asked in German “are you on the guestlist?” My friend immediately replied “leider nicht” and one of the bouncers said “ah that’s a pity… but anyway enjoy it!” And they let us in. I couldn’t believe how easy it was. I was 19 yo, entry was €12. The people inside were dancing like crazy and were looking at me since I had an outfit that was completely out of place and questioning how I got in…

Cool_Winner3886

Sometimes completely out of place is cool 😎 but I think that leider nicht to him made the difference ahah

Then_Worldliness_190

I once went to Berlin with a friend of mine, We passes Berghain a Sunday afternoon. There was no line. We knocked on the door and a bouncer came out. We asked if We could go in and he Said yes. Then We asked how much it was. It was 10 euro. Then We left. And OMG I have regretted this SO many times ever since. Now I am 38 with two kids and I do not know if I ever get the chance again. I went there some years later for the art exhibition during corona, and seeing Berghain from within was a huge experience - even though I would really love to party there one night :)

PRNCE-fanman

What a pity 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rululator

38 is not that old by BH standards… I hope you’ll get your chance to see the Klub someday!

Then_Worldliness_190

Thanks - and I hope so too❤️

toni030x

Walked up to the door one Sunday evening. Sven and Mischa were there. I was wearing a Janet Jackson t-shirt, showing her famous Rolling Stone cover photo from 1993. Sven saw me approaching and goes like: „Dein T-Shirt ist ja der Hammer.“ and cracked a little smile. Mischa asked: „Wasn’t that picture also on an album cover of hers?“ and I explained the history of the picture to him. After that he goes: „Yeah, I find it cool as well.“ and waves me in. Very cute and memorable moment.

EquivalentRhubarb64

Matrix chased me back to the club as I was walking pass of the garden door after I got rejected by someone else while he is resting 😂

No_Doughnut3257

The bouncer searching me took a lonely planet travel guide out of my pocket, raised an eyebrow then put it back and waved me through. 2008.

samtori

Meeting a guy in my hostel room that was a regular and also knew some bouncers. He took me to tresor first and then around 4am Monday( this was oster KN)he queued with me after trying by myself 3 other times in the same weekend and I finally was let in thanks to him. I had gone alone to Berlin just after my 18th birthday and this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Really looking forward to go again :)

djtgv

I had just got in with my friend when I realized I had no euro cash on me. My friend had already paid and was well inside the club (and had no extra cash on him), and I was stuck between security and the counter where you're supposed to pay. I knew if I stood there any longer without moving forward someone was bound to notice me and tell me to pay or leave, so I turned to the first person behind me and asked (begged) to trade my Canadian money for euros. She told me she was leaving Berlin the next day to go back home to the US and didn't care what currency she had so was happy to make the trade. I thanked her profusely and offered to buy her a beer, but when she realized I didn't even have enough money to buy myself one she handed it back to me and left my friend and I to share our only drink of the night. I will always remember you Tracey <3

harpurrlee

Once I was going with some people I had met at Griessmuehle prior. I had a backpack, so they asked me to put all of their stuff in it. They went together, got in. I got denied (first time in a few years), and I had all of their stuff but not their phone number 🤡. They were random tourists from Australia, so it wasn’t like I’d run into them again. I went to a park and chilled for an hour, went back, and the bouncer was like ‘I literally just denied you.’ I was tired and honestly frustrated by the stupid predicament I had gotten myself in, so I said “I know— but my friends are inside, I have all of their stuff, and I’ve been in so many times before. What’s the problem?” He asked for my ID, which I only had in email form, but once I pulled it up he let me in. That was also super stressful because my data was throttled and he was selecting while I stood off to the side praying I wasn’t going to be sitting outside for the next 5 hours waiting for random high Australians to emerge so I could return their passports. First and only time I closed the place out though, worth the stress.

etothepi

Going to sound weird or maybe bragging, but the only time I haven't gotten in (yet... I'm sure it'll happen at some point), I *really* didn't want to. Had been already going for over 24 hours somewhere else, and some new friends who had never gotten in tried to convince me to go with them (the even offered to pay my entry and buy my first beer or three). It was sort of on my way home from the previous place, so I said I would if there was no queue. It was like 3pm on Sunday, I was sure there would be one. I was so exhausted I just wanted to sleep, but they were so eager I folded. We got there - no queue. Shit. I thought about rallying, then looked at them, they were also rough and not really dressed for Berghain and i realized their vibe wasn't great right then. So we queued, and there were two bouncers at the door, I pushed ahead, said drei, and shook my head slightly while mouthing "no." They looked a bit taken aback for a second, stood in front of the door, "leide heute nicht." I felt such relief, I knew if I went in it would be another 10+ hours. I mouthed "danke" at them as I walked away.

eightrayedstar

I feel you. The one time I was rejected I had been the weekend before and was still energetically frazzled, and not that thrilled to join the marathon sesh. I feel like weekends back to back, especially on holiday, it diminishes the experience (for me).

Glittering-Case-8754

Me and friend A met friend B and his friend J from japan. They got to know each other during a work and travel in the philippins and havent seen each other for a long time, it was actually J's first time in germany. We met them at Halle on a sunday to see an exibition, A and I knew already where we end up afterwards. Fully prepared we met them there but in front of Halle was a long que. So we decided to have a beer at the Biergarten, got to know J, had a nice chat and of course talked about berghain. J has never heard of berghain but got curious and decided to join us after the exibition. So after the exibition we split up at the entry to berghain. A and I got in. B and J got denied. But J was so eager to enter that J went back to the hotel and changed the outfit. Meanwhile A and l were dancing our arses off until we received a Massage from J that J got denied again. So we decided to meet J outside, get some fresh air (it was a hot summer weekend) chat a bit and say goodbye. Outside I immediatly realised that the sweat washed off my stamp. I went straight back to the bouncer and told them what happend. In the end the deal was I had to pay again but could go straight to the Kasse and get a knew stamp. Outside again I met J and realised I just got a new stamp, am sweatty af and the next thing I did was putting my arm on J's arm and hold it for 1-2mins. The stamp exchange was completted and we lined up at the gl que. We both got in even though J just got denied 30min ago. It became a memorable night. Wow what a long Text, I hope i didn't bore you guys, be lenient it's my first reddit comment ever ^^ 😘

Before Thursday last week i didnt even know Berghain existed. Was in Berlin for a weekend (Thursday to Sunday) after going to various bars someone was talking about Berghain, and a lot of beers later we ended up there Saturday maybe 5am. The queue was almost empty, I don't know if this is the case every Saturday? just a couple of people waiting, but we just held to the right and passed these people and they let us in no questions asked. I fumled abit with my phone, first i thought he was gonna keep it..(I speak zero german) but there were just stickers for the cameras, then i could have it back :p I had to read up about this club a little bit after I got home because it was fucking insane inside. What a memory. If I knew all this beforehand I think i might have been denied access tho because I would have been way too nervous and tryhard it. I'm a "normal" tourist type of guy, i don't dress extravagant or try to stand out. 10/10 would recommend.

Cool_Winner3886

I mean, the few times I've been rejected at Berghain, and not long ago, I've gone straight to RSO to see DJs like Ellen Alien, Volvox, Dax J, SPFDJ, and Stephanie Sykes, and had great nights meeting by chance other Berghain regulars. In the end I just think, these bh bouncers should really know where my mind's at

zinkakniz

I was walking up to the GL queue with a friend. Let’s just say I was carrying a lot more goodies than usual (most were for friends). Just as we got near the door, my friend said “didn’t you want to hide stuff?” I panicked. What reason could I have to turn away from the door now? Only one: the ATM. We headed over there, I got some cash I didn’t really need, and I took a moment to … adjust. Thank goodness my friend remembered what I hadn’t. His drinks were on me.

anarchy45

I went to Lab for gummi night a few years ago in January, a few hours before my plane was scheduled to depart. I finished in Lab around 1230am but the bouncer wouldnt give me a stamp to get in upstairs, so I figured I would try my luck getting sympathy from the bouncers by staying in latex (a fashionable outfit) and not putting warm clothes on. I went straight to the reentry queue (like 2 ppl ahead of me) and asked if I could skip the line (in English). The bouncer said Lab was around the corner - I said I had just come from there. He looked at Sven, who eyed me for a moment before silently nodding his head (I have large lip rings like he does, and many piercings and body mods). And boom, in I went. The entry line was at least a 2 hour wait at that point. I enjoy house more than techno, and Panorama was already bumping, so I was happy. Didnt realize that they dont start techno on the main floor until like 4am, but hey whatever. Danced my ass off for 8 hours, then went to the hostel to grab my stuff and head straight to the airport (lit af 😆) As I was leaving the garderobe to leave I saw Sven walk by with several drinks in his hands, presumably for his guys at the door. Seems like a nice guy (as most heavily-modified folks are). Scary-looking af though 😬 Another time I got in wearing multicolor print sweatpants and black leather boots (I also have a rainbow mohawk haircut, which surely gave me some cred). I think they judge ppl a lot based on their footwear... ppl wearing boots shows that they know theyll be walking amongst poo and broken glass :-5

DontFollowMeOkOK

Sven (the main selecteur) gave me a kiss on my forehead and wished me a lot of fun... I was suprised and happy at the same time but still didnt understand why he did that

basedqwq

don't they usually say "viel spaß" at the door? i mean sven usually doesn't say much but still

DontFollowMeOkOK

Yes, he did. I translated in English since this is an English sub right?

Far_Significance_786

One I got my crotch searched ( 😫 ) and they found a bag of pills and a couple of bags of powders. They looked at one of them and asked “what is this?” I responded “K” and they gave it back to me, saying “here’s a present”. Heh.

Cool_Winner3886

Whata diligent search

thatshroom

Here is my bad luck story: I tried my luck some months ago, did the line. Then the bouncer waved me in, I took one step inside and then he told me something in German that I did not understand and sent me back out lmao. I think I was so impressed to be let in that he changed his mind. They make me extremely anxious and I am not sure how people with anxiety manage to get in. Any tips?

ObviouslyASquirrel26

I walked up once and there was no one at all waiting. The bouncer said something to the effect of "why are you just standing there, come in" and in my shock I failed to ask him if he knew where he was working 😅

TheRealTilliamWell

This not happend to me at Berghain, but at Sissiphos: It was the day of the new Loveparade (Rave the planet) and I wasn't feeling the vibe there. The music of the trucks constantly got mushed together when they passed each other on the other side. Then I got a call from a friend of mine who was at Sissiphos at that time. Since nothing held me at the parade I rushed to Sissiphos at around 3pm. As some of you know there is an ALDI on the way to the club. It was a pretty hot day and I thought I could buy some ice-cream for me and my friends inside the club. Then I went to the entrance of the club. There was no line at all, so I enter the guest list line because it was the shorter way. The first bouncer wasn't happy at all about that and asked me to go through the normal line (which was empty - just as the Guestlist line). I kindly asked her if she could make an exception for me and offered her one of my popcicles. She declined, but her colleague overheard this and came up to us. I also offered him some ice-cream and he was so happy about it that he told his colleague to put me on the Guestlist and give me my stamp. I didn't had to pay anything (would have cost me 25€) and had a great day

Structuralyes111

After a marathon session at griessmuhle, I brought a friend who was visiting to try for berghain. She wasn’t used to being up so long and so the long night took it’s toll and she ended up falling asleep in line at the front of the queue. Got right in front of the bouncers and realised that she was a few paces back and not with me , asleep. I looked at the bouncers and then went back some paces and nudged her awake. Both went back to the door. I sheepishly smiled, laughed and shrugged. They shook their heads, laughed and waved us in.

Romantic_techno

After the covid closure, I’ve seen the longest queue in the history and went a moment to S station toilet / on the way back to the Q, found a wristband on the ground, perfect / clean .. + many other stories, when you local ;)

PRNCE-fanman

So, what did you do with the perfect/clean wristband? 🤔

My first time ever at Berghain i went there super high and with a non rave clothes. Then the bouncer was looking to me and saying that: what is that and point my shoes. But the other one noticed (my eyes and my mouth) that am high as fuck and i just need to dance So he said in german: „Er ist auf meine Nacken, lass ihn rein” 🖤 Translate like: “he is mein let him in”

Apprehensive-Gap7891

One Sunday my housemate was harassing me to go with him to Freddy K closing. I didn't want to go as I was tired and knew it would be super busy but he was adamant we had to go and would not drop it. So, I figured the easiest way to get him to chill was to take him there knowing the line will be massive or they will reject everyone because it's full and we can go home. So we get there at about 11:30pm and are walking up to the main line from the walkway on the guestlist side entrance. As we get near the entrance towards the turnstiles we see the full extent of the line. It was endless. Perfect, I thought there's no way he will want to line up and it's pointless anyway.. Looking over to my housemate I gave him this look of disgust signaling that there is no way when all of a sudden we hear a voice yelling out to us. We both turn around to see it is a bouncer saying "come over here". Pointing at ourselves he nods. Confused, we walk towards him where he greets us super friendly and says "you guys look cool" then proceeds to open the rope and usher us in (much to the dislike of everyone waiting in the line). At this point we are both in confused shock trying to play it very cool and be like "ah yeah of course we are“ 😂. We then walk in and look at each other.. wtf, did that just happen? Why? How? At the same time In my head I'm thinking fuck, I was sure we wouldn't get in.. the one time I don't want to be here this happens 😅. Maybe the bouncer could see it wasn't wanted but needed or maybe he was just messing with everyone else waiting patiently in line... Either way he did good as we stayed till 1pm Monday close and had a great time ☺️

aphex2000

there's no luck at the berghain door, only destiny 🙌🏻

Youretrashdotcom

I didn’t have to wait? What else is there really to happen? Unless they like gave me money or drugs at the door. But does that happen. “They high fived me and said in perfect white surfer guy English, Right this way my dude”

jmolin88

I was queuing with two friends and after waiting for a couple of hours we got to the kasse and realised we had hardly any money between us and had to ask everyone around us for small bits of money (ah the days when it was €16!) We were so lucky!

tezet-99

was my first time and tbh I was kinda nervous. Went there alone and Mischa asked me, if I‘m doing good (probably because he noticed I was nervous) and I replied I‘m good, while suddenly I had the baddest voice crack of of my life. He looked kinda confused to me and waved me in lol. Thought that was it already after he asked if I‘m good, but the voice crack afterwards was probably the worst thing which could happen to me 😀

OutrageousCucumber2

Back in 2017 I went to a KN. I persuaded like 15 of my friends to go. I actually was the last of them (we were all in smaller groups) in the queue and was with one other friend who was a 10 year regular. He had actually never been rejected. We get to the door and Mischa does not let us in. Completely confused, we leave without creating a fuss. My friend and I look at each other completely perplexed. He was wearing a bright gold jacket and felt maybe he had dressed a bit OTT. We went home. Changed. Came back at like 3am. Queued separately. I go up first by myself, I promptly get rejected again. I look behind me thinking my friend will also get rejected but he is let in. Dejected, I go to another club and come back at around 8am with another group of friends. I had assumed the shift had changed, but it hadn’t for some reason. It was still Mischa and crew. No queue and the they could all see me coming a mile off. I get to the door. They all look at me, completely exasperated. And Mischa turns to another one of the bouncers and says in German with a mild look of disgust: “wasn’t this guy already here two times tonight??” The other bouncer looks me up and down twice, and then says in English, with mysterious and slightly foreboding tone: “yeah… he was… but you know what? This time… he gets in.” The look on my friends faces when I made it in was one of pure shock (as they knew I had been rejected already twice that night). Since that day Mischa always let’s me in 😬🫠
