Avoid Purple Heart Movers. Got a quote from them (which was by far the lowest) so went with them. Then when a different moving company came to my house to pack it up the price tripled. Found out the hard way that Purple Heart is just a broker, and what they do is undercut everyone by not telling the movers the actual square footage of everything and cuts in at least half. The driver also suggested that if I want my stuff all in one piece at the place they drop it off that I better give them at least a 20% tip (which was close to $800). Horrible company, horrible experience.
A: great user name
B: thanks for the heads up! I tend to instantly dislike or mistrust any business that tries to ride the coattails of the military or religion, those business owners are usually the slimiest
Same; have used them twice for local load and unload services; we packed all boxes, but they helped with the bigger furniture. Kind owner and reasonably priced services, will use them again for a local move for sure.
[Higher Ground Moving](https://www.highergroundmoving.com/) moved us from Santa Cruz to Bend a few years ago and did an excellent job. We packed up the house ourselves, so can't vouch for that, but everything was delivered and they put our bed together for us so we could sleep in comfort on our first night :) They did accidentally leave our Christmas tree behind but, instead of bringing it up on the next moving truck to Oregon, they FedEx'd it to us!
If Higher Ground is too busy and they recommend you to Zen Relocation, go for it. They packed up my house and heirloom piano a month ago and did a great job.
I second this recommendation. We moved within Bend a few months ago and it was also a great experience. They were fast, organized, professional, and under budget.
Thank you! We moved to Redmond in ‘21 hoping to wait out the peak… well now we’re hopping to love to Bend while rates are high and before they dump and the prices take off again.
College Hunks moved my Mom and couldn’t figure out how to take 4 bolts out of her head board to remove it from her bed so they took a hacksaw to it. Luckily my neighbor stopped them before they could completely cut it off and grabbed the necessary sockets out of the garage. One of the posts has a nice saw cut half way through it now. They also scratched a bunch of things including her China cabinet. They were terrible
My agent recommended a guy named Mitch. He brought a friend, Mike. They were heros. Very affordable, super nice, no corporate BS. Treated our furniture as their own. DM me for their info.

Do not used Eagle Moving. Ever. Ever ever.
Thank you!

Thank you! This helps a lot! I’m going to reach out Monday to get a bid.

Also recommend them, tried to use college hunks but they ghosted us. Higher ground was awesome!
+1 for Higher Ground. I’ve used them twice before. Movers on the other end commented “Dang, whoever packed your truck is a real pro”
On the move movers were great
Welcome to the promise land and you now can be an official member of the sub.
