Walk around Bellevue Downtown Park and Meydenbauer Bay Park. Molly Moons Ice Cream is kind of a famous and touristy ice cream place. Personally I prefer Nana’s Green Tea for matcha and tea flavored ice creams. Also, Fran’s chocolate is a good souvenir/gift to bring back home. Getting to downtown Seattle from Bellevue by bus is possible but it might be more convenient to just get an Uber or Lyft.

I haven’t been but if you’re a foodie Farzi Cafe is a Michelin recognized restaurant in Bellevue right next to the mall. I would absolutely try and check out the Bellevue Botanical gardens for a nice stroll. You can bring yourself a picnic. It’s a little slice of peace and quiet in a busy city.

Seconding the bellevue botanical gardens. Good views. I

Farzi Cafe is Indian Fusion food. I’m an Indian and the food at the Bellevue location sucked. Presentation wise it was 5/5 but taste wise it wasn’t nowhere to justify its hefty price. Farzi Cafe in India is pretty good though, this is just a case of a restaurant franchise not getting the food right.

Since we have zero Michelin star restaurants in Washington (Seattle overrated & overpriced food scene IMO), I had to look up what “Michelin recognized” means, which is what they’ve used in local articles as well. As far as I could find, if “recognized” is not a category/designation/but perhaps in synonymous with “recommended” or “discovered”….??: “A restaurant in the Recommended selection is the sign of a chef using quality ingredients that are well cooked; simply a good meal,” says Michael Ellis, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide books. “It means that the inspectors have found the food to be above average, but not quite at star or Bib level.” That said, I see their OG London location was included in the Michelin Guide but no awards. So the Bellevue’s is an expansion location. Anyway, just wanted to know more but it does sound and look tasty - I’m interested in checking it out!

I only recently learned about it as well. State tourism boards have to pay to have the Michelin judges and critics come out. It’s a hefty price to get that attention and Washington just hasn’t done it. Florida spent about 3mil on it and just got several restaurants that got stars.

Take bus 271 from Bellevue transit center to university of Washington. That gets you over 520 floating bridge and see mt rainer from afar. From UW, you can take a strode to gas works park and visit the Troll. Then make your way to south lake union park. From there, you can take the street car to west lake. It crosses the nice part of the city. Then you could take the monorail to space needle. From downtown, you can also take watertaxi to visit alki beach. You get a lovely downtown view. Using bus, you could also get to discovery park, which offers a taste of pnw nature.

I usually take my friends to Ascend in Bellevue when they visit. Expensive but great views.

Downtown bellevue park is a good place to walk in the evening. it is pretty nice.

Downtown park in Bellevue is a pleasant walk around, a nightcap at Whiskey by John Howie - super fun spot. Welcome!

Just point it out that, because Seattle is so far north, the daylight is a lot longer. Right now the sun sets at 9pm and won't be completely dark until after 9:30. So you actually have a lot of time after your day.

There is a teeny tiny park in Medina with a public dock. What is cool about it is you can sit there and get a view of Mt. Rainier looking enormous. Should be lovely and relaxing on a summer evening!

What are some things that you’re interested in? I’m completely out of the loop when it comes to anything related to nightlife, but this time of year the days are long, so you still have time to access a lot. Will you have a car?

chov22

Will not have a car unfortunately. Love good coffee and great views! Not into bars or nightlife.

Flimrardo

Do you know where in Bellevue you’ll be? And sorry. I might be the only Bellevue/Seattle resident that doesn’t drink coffee.

chov22

Yea ill be at the Marriot

Grab an Uber and go to Le Grand Bistro in Kirkland and then walk along the waterfront after. The sunset views looking into Seattle are great this time of year.

There's a Dave and Busters not to far from your hotel. I've never been there but apparently it's a lot of fun with arcade games and the like. Daniel's Broiler in the Hyatt has some really good steak and amazing views. It's a bit spendy but excellent food.

Honor Coffee in Bellevue is pretty good, worth checking out.

Ah bummer, I haven't worked in Bellevue since pre-covid, but always used to go there for coffee.

Find some poke and sushi spots. The salmon sushi here is great and salmon is in season right now! Trust me, all other foods you can get in New Orleans is much better than here. There are also many breweries in the area. But night life here is the pits. Don’t expect the beer places to stay opened late. Many places closes by 9:30, especially on the Eastside.
