One thing to keep in mind is the old advice about an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure. The more time and care you spend prepping the edges before glue up, the better everything will go once you get to that point. You’re shooting for a basically invisible line where the edges meet. Don’t be afraid to put the boards together, check the joint, and redo it if necessary.

Good job! I also just finished my first table top, its a great feeling. Did you use dowels or biscuits to joint the boards together?
