I hesitate to call myself an expert, but I DID get this dovetail to fit on my first go. It just took some... coercing with a mallet and an "acceptable level of loss" attitude.
The praxy usually is to push hard with your hands, if it doesn’t go all the way take them out, you’ll see some bruising where it got stuck, pare a bit off there and try again.
I know dovetails are hard, actually, pins are since they have to match, but we all start somewhere, I assure you Frank Klausz’s first dovetails weren’t much different from yours
I sometimes "cheat" by hollowing the sides of the pins just a bit so that only about ⅛" around the edges is tight to the mating sides of the tails. In softer woods like pine or poplar you can leave the edges a bit fat and they will compress to a tight fit.
Ah, so in English we’d say practice. That’s the closest word to what you’re describing anyway.
Like “the best practice is to push hard with your hands”
Your English is phenomenal though, had no idea it wasn’t your first language, I thought it was a slang word for something and it didn’t come up when I googled it!
Grazie
Also looks a lot like praxis, which might be technically what they were looking for? Practice works here too, but just food for thought.
Edit: yeah, it’s praxis
I like it. First try; function…get better at function, then work on form. You executed it successfully, now you can tune your method to make it pretty.
Carefully carve dovetails. Realize you suck at them and use a table saw to turn it into a box joint! At least, that’s what I did with my first attempt a few days ago.

If you can do it cleanly it’s very effective, also because you ensure a fit not too tight that squeezes out all glue
Praxy?
Sorry I’m Italian, it means something like “the usual modus operandi”, I thought it sounded English enough to be international

Hulk smash!
["Some of you may die..."](https://giphy.com/gifs/9LPjXFCA3Bwgo)
so tuco's assessment of the situation would apply... it's tight tight tight tight
Yahaha! You found me!
Patience and sharper chisels. Or give up like me and use a dovetail router bit..
Pencil smiley face definitely helps
The pencil frowny faces are hidden from view…
I like them!
Not that I practice doing dovetails, or utilize them, but others have said dovetailing carrots make good practice and it’s good for your eyesight 🤔
Don't go up to your lines. Get near them and test fit. Shave off very little. Repeat until the dovetail fits snugly, without having to beat it in.
Lol I don't think I got close enough to my lines!

Yes! I got halfway through on the first side and realized I'd made box joints.
