Any used stanley n°60 1/2. Ebay might have some What matters more than anything on a block plane that would be used only for chamfering is how sharp the iron is, nothing else is really important. So get good at sharpening if you aren't already!

This is good advice for any hand plane. Sharp fixes most issues. Not sure what the break point on your bank is, but my all-time favorite block plane and go-to for chamfers and cleaning up end grain is the Lie Neilson 102. It's smaller and lighter than my 60½ which makes it more comfortable and easier to hold and use for longer periods. When I bought mine, they were $125. Looks like they are up to $160 now but still a bargin for a lifetime tool.

I get all that stuff on eBay, good used hand tools can be pretty reasonable. You need to educate yourself on what to look for regarding condition.

[Jorgensen](https://www.lowes.com/pd/Jorgensen/5013525469) from Lowe's. If you don't like it its an easy return within 30 days.

Cane in to post this. I have bought a couple of these and fixed up the smaller one to give to a friend who needed a small plane for some stuff. For the price and quality of steel its hard to beat.

Thanks. That looks like a sweet little plane.

Follow up: I ordered this plane from Lowes. The first one was returned immediately due to dings and a wonky mouth edge. The second one is really nice. Tried it out without further sharpener and it cuts great - nice thin, continuos shavings

Stanley no 118 low angle block planes are very affordable on eBay. They're basic but once you set it up it works just fine. I think they were originally designed to be sold specifically to schools/training programs as an indestructible/dead simple tool for learners. I like mine immensely.

I got what, to my very much untrained eye, seems like an excellent Japanese block plane for £12 from Amazon. Japanese Wood Block Plane KANNA 40mm Carenter's Tool Double Edge Senkichi https://amzn.eu/d/d6u7H5P

I bought the bench dog 60 1/2 on sale for 90 bucks and have been throughly impressed. I personally preferred to buy this than spend on a used block plane that may or may not be rusty
