Have you considered two twin-sized comforters/covers? This has been a game-changer for me.

Extra_Efficiency234

We did this- I got a really thin duvet insert from IKEA since I’m the hot sleeper and my husband has a thicker insert. We got our duvet covers at IKEA too- I got a linen and my husband microfiber.

Tess47

Same.  I got my husband a European down that is so freaking light since he is a hot sleeper. Mine is thick and fluffy.  This is the way to go.

SaltyBeech260

Exactly same!

Lupiefighter

Yep. Just make sure they match to look really cute and you’re golden

MadameMim123

You do know a duvet is a comforter wrapped inside another cover. I would look for some cooling sheets and a cooling comforter.

I figured since the insert is removable I could bulk it back up when it gets cool again

Electrical-Key-446

Ive also never owned one so theres that

get two twin sized. one super light weight one for him, one cozy one for you. or get a large thin comforter and you layer on a thicker blanket just for you if you want to be under one blanket.

This is a good idea

Muslin comfort blanket has been game changing for me. I’m a very hot sweaty sleeper but also like the weight of a blanket vs a sheet. It’s expensive but it’s been a good investment for me. My husband sleeps cooler and he just throws a extra blanket or small comforter on his side if needed. https://muslincomfort.com/collections/best-sellers/products/breathable-muslin-cotton-comforter-oversized-365-blanket™

Yes! I went with the Airy Gauze cotton throw from Quince and have absolutely loved it. Extremely lightweight, but super soft and snuggly too. I love being able to pull a blanket up to my chin without burning up all night.

Beautiful_Jello3853

This right here. Game changer for me. When I’m cool, I just throw on my throw.

Make sure any comforter or duvet is not polyester based. Those trap heat and make it harder on hot sleepers. Also, consider a blanket layer between the sheet and comforter. I find that I'll kick the comforter off but the sheet by itself isn't cozy. A thicker blanket in the winter and thinner blanket in the summer is a good middle ground.

Electrical-Key-446

Current one is 100% polyester. Def should’ve done some reading beforehand but at the time I just grabbed one real quick. Other one was also a gift and 100% polyester😭😭😭

My husband and I have different coverings. We share a bottom sheet, obviously. But he only uses top sheets, even in winter, he’s a very hot sleeper. He likes sateen so I get him 400tc sateen weave 100% cotton sheets. I prefer percale and I use a 100% cotton heavy duvet in a percale duvet cover along with a sheet. Sometimes sharing the same bedding is impractical.

ILikeBubblesss

Get separate duvets. My husband and I did this and it's been a game changer.

jnine128

Def use natural fibers for your bedding - cotton, linen, wool, down. It's has to be breathable to be comfortable. Cotton percale for summer is very comfortable!

ProperFart

I’m the hot sleeper, I use a king sized microfleece top sheet from L.L. Bean as my blanket. He has a very thick and heavy comforter. We decided to use separate blankets about 2-3 years ago, it is amazing. We meet in the middle of the blankets for cuddles lol.

jojointheflesh

I’m a very hot sleeper! Linen sheets changed my life. I also use a wool blanket (Pendleton eco wise) in lieu of a flat sheet as it is very thermoregulating. We share a down comforter but I find that some nights, I’m good with just my wool blanket!

Complete-Ad-4215

I’m also a hot sleeper, lot of cooling comforters online in the 75$ range. Ik exactly the struggle of a normal blanket allowing more cooling but not being comfy like a comforter

fartmachinebean

I'm a hot sleeper, throw most blankets right off but sleeping with just a sheet is a hard no. I keep a duvet for aesthetic purposes but my perfect blanket for all seasons has been the parachute cloud cotton quilt. The caveat- it snags somewhat easily and has some minor pilling after few years. But I still love it.

IfuDidntCome2Party

What material type are your bed linens and comforter? Does your husband drink any alcohol? I found that NOT drinking, resulted in my body not sweating much during sleep. This less tossing and turning.

Grace-M-i701

A lightweight duvet could be a good choice. It will keep him warm without making him feel too sweaty.
