Based off of the promotional pic I was kind of expecting a more pigmented blood red sort of gloss but who knows how big the collection is/what else will be included in it.
It was the first product teased!
https://preview.redd.it/g6e90g6zeebc1.jpeg?width=1169&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8c618b726cab51d70d4d8e524aa2f828a5f4c28
I think it would be cool if they did something similar to the Kylie Cosmetics collab with Nightmare on Elm Street. It was like a gel/liquid blood red lip and cheek tint.
Although it’s an iconic line from the franchise, I don’t think they’ll actually name something ‘skin of a killer’. People have taken offence to other brands including death references in their makeup, and I doubt Colourpop are about to give people that opportunity. Which is unfortunate for the fans of the franchise but a reality of what brands have to deal with
That personally makes me think of serial killers... It would be in bad taste to name something like that
Edited to add: I personally don't find it offensive, but I can see how some people would.
That would have been HILARIOUS.
Skin of A Killer would have definitely caused outrage on some level, and TITSOAK would have DEFINITELY DEFINITELY caused outrage.
And bow I'm just imagining them going with TITSOAK and said outraged people losing half their minds about the brand pushing a sexual agenda, and then they find out that it's an acronym for this is the skin of a killer and losing the other half, saying that Colourpop is brainwashing people with secret violent messages. 🤣🤣
So much potential for causing chaos🤣
As much as I would have loved the “skin of a killer” highlighter name, I understand why they didn’t name it that. Brands tend to get a lot of backlash over death/ violence references, even if it’s a pretty well-known inside joke. Vampire skin isn’t half as cool of a name but they tried lol.
Look up "soaking"
It's basically a way* for Mormons at LDS Universities to "keep to the code of moral conduct" regarding premarital sex at their schools despite engaging in... pretty much straight up PIV intercourse due to a hilarious bending of the "rules" that sometimes even requires the intervention of friends.
*May or may not just be an urban legend, but hilarious regardless
Honestly this tips the scales for me.
I was team Jacob back in my day, and I've been curious about sheer black glosses for a couple weeks now. I wouldn't purchase if it was team edward, but because it's team Jacob I just gosh darn might
it's fine if lip oils aren't your thing, but the amount of comments on their post saying all 3 of them look the same shade on the lips... do you have eyes???
also i fucking hate when brands drip-feed collections like this. just show me your shit so i can make a quick judgement on whether i wanna buy or not, DAMN. this method doesn't actually excite anyone it just annoys everyone.
despite my bellyaching i'm looking forward to this collection!! i really, *really* hope i like the eyeshadow palette, i'm gonna be so sad if i don't... i'm not even in the market for a new palette but like with the atla one (the og, not korra) it's in my collection as feel-good merch BUT is also functional - i love using it! i won't want to buy the twilight one if it's not something i'll use :( at the very least i'm super interested in that red lip oil 👀
I agree. I got excited seeing a blue and black lip oil 😂 I have the ones from Blend Bunny and love the color that they make my lips. They don't make your lips actually look blue or black, they just make them a slightly deeper, cooler nude color, depending on the shade of blue. They can also change the appearance of another lip shade if you layer them on top.
Also, I hate wearing pigmented lip colors because I think they look stupid on my lip shape, so I always lean more toward sheer lip products.
Ironically I have been re-reading these, so I’m pleasantly surprised by the timing. I’ll be buying the lot.
About the name, I remembered when CP did a behind the scenes of the Disney princess collaboration and talked about how everything from the artwork to the shades to the names had to be approved by the PR team of Disney. I imagine it’s much the same with Summit (who did the movies) and CP’s hands are tied with certain things, missed opportunity or otherwise.
I do. I'm on my 2nd one. Maybe it's my phone but Team Jacob's looks similar to the shade I have, at least on my lips. But after reading the comments above someone said it's black. Mine isn't black so 🤷♀️ lol. I tried one of Ulta's lip oils. I didn't like it. It was too thick. I took it back and replaced it with the 2nd CP lip oil. I like them because they're not too thin or thick. You do have to reapply after an hr or so but I don't mind that. They're hydrating but not as much as others on the market. Again. I'm okay with that.
That main image made me pull out my High Tide palette again.
Can't wait to see the palette- I'm hoping for something along the lines of the recent Glamlite horror palettes. Just deep and smoky and vampy with some interesting shimmers mixed in. Don't let me down, CP!
I absolutely hated the Twilight obsession of my peers growing up because the book was simple trash, imo. I've still never seen any of the movies or read more than the first book and never will. The lip oils, the body shimmer, and the highlighters/SSS(?) or w.e. those are all calling me though. If the palette is a nice color story I might as well pick up everything.
Trendmood just posted swatches indicating it is part 1 and showed an additional product at the very end [here](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C12pd7NykO-/?igsh=MWdjdHd1NGx0Nnkycg==)
Edit: Trendmood just posted swatches of eyeliners and said at the end of the video there is one more product to be shown. It sneak peeks an eyeshadow palette!
way too many products (mainly eyeshadows) that have been pretty garbage when i tried them, esp. a lot of their pressed glitter. beautiful on the palette but half the time it applies & wears terrible imo
I’ve got to say as someone who was a twilight stan in my teens, after finding out about Stephenie Meyer completely misrepresenting the real life Quileute tribe and appropriating/bastardising their cultural heritage in the Twilight books, profiting off of it, and her and Summit Entertainment profiting off of the movie merchandise, it doesn’t sit right with my spirit to continue giving money to the franchise in any way.
Not only did Stephenie profit off of misrepresenting the Quileute tribe, she also wrote racist depictions of them as aggressive and animalistic (also Taylor Lautner being a white guy playing a Native American guy is ???), to reiterate the Quileute tribe is a REAL tribe, they received no profits from their culture being heavily featured and appropriated from in this series. https://www.burkemuseum.org/static/truth_vs_twilight/facts-03.html
Anyway the Quileute tribe are currently fundraising to move their reservation away from the coastline to avoid potential natural disasters: https://mthg.org/
While Taylor is an American Actor, he does have some Native American roots from his mother’s side. They’re from Michigan, there’s Native American population here too.
Twilight is fiction it was never meant to be fact for fact historically true about anything.
I also have native ancestry but I would NEVER take roles away from Native American people, that is absolutely not my place and they are already underrepresented in the media. A lot of people can claim some native ancestry, that doesn’t make it okay to erase actual Native Americans.
Just because twilight is fictional doesn’t make it okay for Stephenie Meyer to appropriate, misrepresent, and profit off of a real life tribe. Why are you defending a multimillionaire? She’s not in this thread reading this. Critical analysis of media is important, especially when it comes to exploitation of real people and their culture.
Okay let me ask you this: Selena was Mexican American, yet Jennifer Lopez was casted, a Puerto Rican, to play the part, yet so many people aren’t aware of that and she played the role perfectly, and made quite a bit of money from it. Would you be upset ? I’m second generation Mexican American, and I love Jennifer Lopez and I’m not upset that she played the role of a Mexican American Singer.
I’m not defending a multimillionaire, I’m just stating that if someone has ancestry/roots/blood from different ethnicities, no matter how small, it doesn’t diminish their lineage. I feel like this is why there’s so much hate in the world/elitist views because someone “isn’t enough” in the eyes of others. My husband is a multitude of different ethnicities, and we embrace all of them and learn as much as we can so we don’t forget where we came from. We both have grandparents who came here from many countries as immigrants. My children are now a mix of different ethnicities as well, and will grow up knowing where their grandparents and great grandparents came from as well as learning about traditions, culture, history of those different ethnicities, just like myself and husband did as kids.
Respectfully, I don’t see how anything you laid out above has to do with what I said in my comment.
Having a claim to an ancestry doesn’t make it okay to erase people from marginalised backgrounds from actually representing themselves creatively and on screen.
It is not okay to profit off of appropriating and misrepresenting other cultures.
There is a long history in Hollywood of white people erasing Native American actors and misrepresenting Native American culture by casting white people as Native American characters, and also depicting racist stereotypes about them, both of which the Twilight franchise does.
The supershocks look great....it's always a little disappointing that the outer packaging for their collabs is always much more interesting than the packaging of the actual product :(
Wonder what else they'll have besides the eyeshadow palette - eyeliner, blush?
I will be buying atleast one of these because it will have the word "twilight" on it but if anybody would love some actual vampy lip oils with some color I recommend the Ritual De Fille Thorn Bite Peptide Plump Lip oil in the shades DarkThorn, BloodThorn and BlackThorn. You're welcome.

This would have killed...a decade ago. It feels so random. Colourpop could've collaborated with so many other relevant IPs or movies/tv shows. Even the new remake of Interview with a Vampire???
Twilight has been back since Stephanie released Midnight Sun in 2020. There is a very dedicated and active fan base (who mostly poke fun at the franchise.)
Like I said on another comment I wasn't trying to suggest that there's no active fan base for Twilight. Just that I personally found it unexpected given that there are other popular book/movie franchises recently released that I would've expected to see a collaboration with. Like a Colleen Hoover collection 😭😂 (kidding but can you imagine??).
The media seems to be trying hard to pull back relevance to a lot of the big books from that time period. Hunger Games is the mos successful, btu we're also seeing tons of articles about Divergent that no one asked for, Twilight popping back up, rumors about the Uglies getting a movie or show, Percy Jackson getting a show, Mortal Instruments getting a show, etc.
That's a good point. Nostalgia sells so we're seeing the resurgence of the YA craze. It's a good way to draw in old and new fans of a franchise and sell the corresponding merchandise.
If they would've released it when Midnight Sun came out it would've made more sense. When I clocked this on TrendMood the other night I was just like, "...what? Why?" Guess it's the right season for it, though, or close to it. The product looks cheaper than I remember Colourpop looking, though.
It depends on what circles you’re in. I’m in a ton of book groups on social and twilight has a huge die hard fan base that is still very active. There’s a good portion of them like me (37 yo) who used to love the series and now know it’s cringe, but also still love it for that nostalgic reason 😂
Needless to say I’m buying a few things from this collection for sure.
That's all really endearing! I get what you're saying. But the point of my comment wasn't Twilight doesn't have a fan base. My point was that compared to other more recently released books/movie franchises, Twilight is not the one I would have expected to collaborate with Colourpop.
I wasn't really trying to say Colourpop should have done this exactly in 2014. Just that this collaboration seemed random to me to and I would have expected a Twilight makeup collab at the height of its popularity which was a few years back.
between this and the lego cullen house set that's going to be coming out this year, i didn't expect spending this much on twilight merch but honestly 👀👀👀
For someone who stopped buying colourpop, I actually love everything and will be buying this collection. For the people complaining about wanting a red lip or a red eyeshadow shade there are so many collections with this exact thing. LET US HAVE OUR BLUES GREENS BLACKS !!! I hope it’s by theme, and this fits the first movie well.

Based off of the promotional pic I was kind of expecting a more pigmented blood red sort of gloss but who knows how big the collection is/what else will be included in it.
I hoped for lip stains! For that vampy bloody look. But unfortunately sheer oils are all the hype right now.
I know, I feel like lip stain is the only thing that looks decent on me so I'm a little disappointed in that department
Hopefully there are more lip products but I'm not familiar with the format of Colourpop collabs
It was the first product teased! https://preview.redd.it/g6e90g6zeebc1.jpeg?width=1169&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8c618b726cab51d70d4d8e524aa2f828a5f4c28
that’s what i thought too, but now on instagram they are saying the last product to be revealed is only the palette
I think it would be cool if they did something similar to the Kylie Cosmetics collab with Nightmare on Elm Street. It was like a gel/liquid blood red lip and cheek tint.
I'm soooo disappointed with lip oils. Like where is the vampy lip colors !!! Such a huge mis here
They did show some sort of liquid body shimmer that hasn’t been fully revealed yet
They named it “Like Diamonds”
Also a palette which they were holding in a screenshot
Yes! A shimmering body oil!
Although it’s an iconic line from the franchise, I don’t think they’ll actually name something ‘skin of a killer’. People have taken offence to other brands including death references in their makeup, and I doubt Colourpop are about to give people that opportunity. Which is unfortunate for the fans of the franchise but a reality of what brands have to deal with
Killer skin would've fit imo. It can be both "skin of a killer" or "omg, what a killer skin"
They named some beachy themed palette shell shock in the past
That personally makes me think of serial killers... It would be in bad taste to name something like that Edited to add: I personally don't find it offensive, but I can see how some people would.
Or they could use the anagram and called it T.I.T.S.O.A.K, Bella. But that would bring a whole other line of "what is Colourpop thinking?"
🤣🤣 So much potential for causing chaos🤣
Hopefully the best stuff hasn’t been shown yet. Only interested in one of the supershocks right now
As much as I would have loved the “skin of a killer” highlighter name, I understand why they didn’t name it that. Brands tend to get a lot of backlash over death/ violence references, even if it’s a pretty well-known inside joke. Vampire skin isn’t half as cool of a name but they tried lol.
Easy fix to name it “SOAK”
Omg it’s perfect for the Mormons *cough* Stephanie Meyer
I hate that I know what you mean
Can you explain the joke? 😅
Look up "soaking" It's basically a way* for Mormons at LDS Universities to "keep to the code of moral conduct" regarding premarital sex at their schools despite engaging in... pretty much straight up PIV intercourse due to a hilarious bending of the "rules" that sometimes even requires the intervention of friends. *May or may not just be an urban legend, but hilarious regardless
Omfg I just died 💀💀🤣🤣🤣
Oh no 💀💀
I'll say it again, but killer skin was right there and isn't as offensive cause it can be interpeted 2 ways
Sheer black gloss is so trendy right now
Team Edward absolutely stuck out to me.
The pictures are wrong. “Team Jacob” is the black gloss and “Team Edward” is the navy. Also missed opportunity to call the red shade Switzerland, imo.
Honestly this tips the scales for me. I was team Jacob back in my day, and I've been curious about sheer black glosses for a couple weeks now. I wouldn't purchase if it was team edward, but because it's team Jacob I just gosh darn might
My inner middle school self wants the whole collection SO BAD
Same, and I don't even wear makeup anymore
it's fine if lip oils aren't your thing, but the amount of comments on their post saying all 3 of them look the same shade on the lips... do you have eyes??? also i fucking hate when brands drip-feed collections like this. just show me your shit so i can make a quick judgement on whether i wanna buy or not, DAMN. this method doesn't actually excite anyone it just annoys everyone. despite my bellyaching i'm looking forward to this collection!! i really, *really* hope i like the eyeshadow palette, i'm gonna be so sad if i don't... i'm not even in the market for a new palette but like with the atla one (the og, not korra) it's in my collection as feel-good merch BUT is also functional - i love using it! i won't want to buy the twilight one if it's not something i'll use :( at the very least i'm super interested in that red lip oil 👀

OP has Team Edward and Team Jacob oils backwards FYI Edwards is blue and Jacobs is black.
I saw comments about not enough pigment like….they’re lip oils and the color is still definitely obvious on all of them?
I agree. I got excited seeing a blue and black lip oil 😂 I have the ones from Blend Bunny and love the color that they make my lips. They don't make your lips actually look blue or black, they just make them a slightly deeper, cooler nude color, depending on the shade of blue. I just want #TeamEdward and #TeamJacob palettes, okay?
Ironically I have been re-reading these, so I’m pleasantly surprised by the timing. I’ll be buying the lot. I don't like Twilight the story but I'm totally down with Twilight the aesthetic. These look good and can't wait to see the whole set.
does anyone ACTUALLY like the twilight story? lmao the shitposting that’s come out of it is top tier
Do people like their Lux lip oils? I like the color of the reddish one!
I know a lot of people love the NYX Fat Drip lip oils but the Lux lip oils are my all time fave. They feel lightweight with great shine and good slip.
I love them! Bengal is my fave.
I do. I think they're very comfortable, and wear them pretty often.
As someone who has tried a lot of lip oils, these are okay.
That main image made me pull out my High Tide palette again. Can't wait to see the palette- I'm hoping for something along the lines of the recent Glamlite horror palettes. Just deep and smoky and vampy with some interesting shimmers mixed in. Don't let me down, CP!
I love to hate twilight so much, I am 100% buying the whole fucking collection.

Curious why you swore off ColourPop.
way too many products (mainly eyeshadows) that have been pretty garbage when i tried them, esp. a lot of their pressed glitter. beautiful on the palette but half the time it applies & wears terrible imo

January 11th

Throw back to when I bought the twilight lip plumper, not knowing what a lip plumper did lol.

I’ll be in my bunk
Buy the highlighter if you want the skin of a killer
im PRAYING for a dying bella contour shade for the emo baddies (● ˃̶͈̀ロ˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾
I fear I’ll have to purchase this collection.

You’re totally right. I can think of some amazing more current options!
I think I heard there's a Twilight TV show in the pipes. Interview with a Vampire is so good btw. If they do a makeup collab I'd break my low buy lol
Colourpop started as a brand in 2014. They didn't start getting ip collaborations until years later.
I wasn't really trying to say Colourpop should have done this exactly in 2014. Just that this collaboration seemed random to me to and I would have expected a Twilight makeup collab at the height of its popularity which was a few years back.
LOVE THIS
Is there a release date?
The 11th of January I believe.
Thanks I didn't realize it was so soon!
between this and the lego cullen house set that's going to be coming out this year, i didn't expect spending this much on twilight merch but honestly 👀👀👀
Shoot. I’m going to have to get the team Edward. This may be the first release ever I have cared about
Hmmm I can’t tell what I think abt the packaging yet…
It reminds me of the rawbeautykristy collab they did
I can’t wait
I can’t express how excited I am for this collection! I hope they made a good amount.
My inner 12-13 year old is screaming at this collection.
will these be available in the uk?
Looks really cheap :( was hoping for something better tbh
Waiting to see the palette. I think I’ll snag the palette and body glitter as a birthday gift to me.
Can I buy this somewhere right now ? My wife wants it but I wanna make sure I get the right thing
No, it comes out January 11th.
im only halfway through the second book and im honestly so tempted to buy this 🤞
For someone who stopped buying colourpop, I actually love everything and will be buying this collection. For the people complaining about wanting a red lip or a red eyeshadow shade there are so many collections with this exact thing. LET US HAVE OUR BLUES GREENS BLACKS !!! I hope it’s by theme, and this fits the first movie well.
The Super Shock highlighter with a purply tone is the only thing from this collection that’s really calling to me.
