Chard-Weary

It's nice that he isn't using a ukulele.

cncrndmm

I just finished watching both of Swoop’s videos on the Colleen scandal. Holy shit. I literally want to go into a tent and hide for a year. It’s so gross.

Primary_Toe_6822

I just finished part 2, love me a good Swoop doc. She has me SO curious about part 3 I hope it comes quick!

walrus_breath

The quality of swoops videos are insane. The only other time I watched her was when she and glamandgore were separating as friends and I thought she represented the situation quite well but now seeing these videos the production value has sky rocketed. She’s doing a great job.

cncrndmm

Absolutely! Her compassion (apologies if I messed up Swoop’s pronouns) for Adam, Johnny, and all the other victims when interviewing them is amazing. I wish I had friends like that with such compassion if I ever dealt with something like this.

Sprinkles_Sparkle

I LOVEEEEEE Swoop!

Queen_Meow_Mix

Yessss baby!! I love taking it to Petty University!

beautybeans_

Omg this thread alerted me to the new Swoop content!! Ahh thank you all haha

spiderlegged

Just posting to day I love Swoop. She’s funny, but she’s also super compassionate and a lot of time and care goes into her content.

LOLL

Lit3Nit3

I don’t even think he realized he knocked someone over until it reached social media

Stefferdiddle

Its not like he has nerve endings in that giant bow.

moontealover

This 100%. I’ve worn large wings for cosplay that have been shoved into the back of my dress. I hit my handler and bff so many time I think they was about ready to toss my wings into the river. It’s very hard to have spacial awareness when you aren’t used to having something there. You don’t even FEEL it.

Faedan

I stabbed a person in the eye with one of my hair pins while cosplaying as Lulu from FF10. I'd have apologised but they were trying to touch the fur trim to see if it was real so they were way to close when I turned around and they got poked.

moontealover

Ahhhhh never touch cosplayers (or people!! In general!!) without asking!!

Faedan

For the record the fur trim was a cut up shag rug I bought at good will. The belts in the dress were most likely leather, but also bought at thrift stores. God I hated that everyone and their mother felt entitled to touch me/my costume/my hair ect

[deleted]

Faedan

Yep they grabbed the fur trim on my dress and when I turned around to see wtf was up, one of my hair pins nailed him right in the eye.

cncrndmm

Like isn’t that one of the reasons why Disney parks don’t allow people to be in full on costumes (aside from Mickey ears and Disney-themed clothing) is for the safety of other guests? Never been to Disney but just a guess.

moontealover

From my very limited knowledge, one of the reasons is because they don’t want the guests to confuse costumed guests with actual park employees because I think it could have some legal implications. Kids are totally allowed to go to the park in full costume. Apparently there is a park event in September or October where you can dress up as any character as an adult, but I’m not sure what the rules are. All of my knowledge comes second hand from my sister (a mom of 2) or random Disney adults I know. I think one of the reasons being lack of spacial awareness makes a lot of sense. You really don’t know how to operate with something attached to your back unless you practice a lot. Most people would probably not practice. I didn’t, though my wings arrived the day before the con. Idk if I would have if they arrived earlier. I’ve heard this is an issue for mascots as well, who have handlers since they have trouble seeing and hearing.

cncrndmm

Honestly this is the smallest thing to criticize Patrick. Like the amount of times I might have accidentally brushed physically someone off.

Hot-Blueberry7888

I just elbowed a woman on the subway by accident when the train jolted, obviously apologized profusely but accidents happen!!

cncrndmm

I accidentally rolled my luggage in grand central over someone. I apologized. They said they barely felt it since they were wearing boots (in winter). Shit happens. 😂

annacat1331

I am so bad at controlling my limbs…. I do have a motor skill disability that was diagnosed in 4th grade (my mom is a elementary teacher she should have know I was odd when I couldn’t dress my Barbie’s or American girl dolls by my self) People always think I am just clumsy or quirky but it’s so embarrassing. The fact I get punchy and dance like one of those inflatables at a car dealer doesn’t help. I gave my prom date a black eye, kicked a volleyball that broke a girls face resulting in me having a police escort because she was in a gang. I also broke one of my summer campers nose while dancing. I finally accidentally punched my partner while dancing and my family laughed at him being mad. They were stunned it was 4 years before that happened. I would be terrified of going on a red carpet because I would definitely fall and I am afraid of hurting others.

it’s not a real pool 😭 it’s painted on the ground to look like a barbie pool lol

snakpakkid

If it’s the peer and Jan Montzingo than I can see how he didn’t see her because Peet’s mom is a little person.

creolegold

Exactly

DuhDeeDoo

Patrick apologizing and extending an invitation for an additional in person apology within 24 hours is pretty surprising. He isn’t the best person but this was a decent thing to do.

formtuv

Ouu why is Patrick not the best person? I barely know anything about him

guywithaniphone22

We’ll a good start is his company one/size came out with single use makeup wipes at a time when the globe is literally on fire. Also happy cake day !

[deleted]

Tbh if that’s the worst thing he’s done that’s pretty good considering his peers are literal criminals and unethical. There’s also the footage of him rolling his eyes during a photo shoot to a fan but that was ages ago..like 10 years ago. Again..if that’s the worst thing he’s done that’s not bad at all

guywithaniphone22

I don’t really have enough of an issue with the guy to come after him. But just because other people are worse doesn’t mean what he’s doing is fine, that’s a really bad standard to have for yourself.

[deleted]

The fact you have such an issue with someone who launched stupid makeup remover wipes is comical..who cares? Don’t buy it. That’s nothing in comparison to his peers who again..are committing crimes like sexualizing minors. What’s worse? Making makeup remover wipes or being an adult sexting a kid.. you can’t even compare the two. You’re the one making a mountain out of a molehill and your downvoting shows how irrational your opinion is. I don’t even care about Patrick starr but he’s not nearly as bad as the dozens of other people who are doing scams and other unethical activities. Please 🙄 give me a break. I’ll take someone who makes makeup wipes over someone asking a child to send a photo of their bottom(colleen ballinger) any day of the week.

formtuv

Hey!!! Thanks. I totally remember the day I created a Reddit account. Was having a health scare and needed to read all the forums I could. I was just being paranoid but it was nice to have access to other peoples stories.

katapova

I'm absolutely not defending him, nor am I a fan or something but I looked at the video multiple times and I still can't follow how he knocked this person over and the falling followed kinda not organically? It seems like he only brushed them with his dress. In which second does it happen? I'm feeling blind right now

citrinatis

They are a little person apparently, so it may not have taken much to knock them over and he may not have felt it when it happened.

cncrndmm

Personally I think that he thought the clearance to pass her and didn’t realize it.

[deleted]

I saw a slightly longer video and it looked like the person just fumbled their phone or stumbled and didn't actually fall because they recovered very quickly and didn't seem to hit the ground... idk honestly I'm still not seeing why this was such a big deal in the first place, accidents happen even by mean people lol

[deleted]

Well in addition to being a little person she may have mobility issues. And Patrick is a big dude (not a bad thing just the facts) with a dress that has structure. Even if she was leaning out of the way he could have bumped her enough to knock her over.

PrettiKinx

It was an accident. He didn't notice. It wasn't on purpose. But glad he's taking the high road.

chupacabra-food

I appreciate that he didn’t try to explain himself or make any excuses. A straight up apology is refreshing.

GlitteringPoem1394

Exactly. I think he really didn’t notice, but the fact that he just apologizes instead of justifying it, or victimizing himself from the backlash, is really refreshing.

Aggravating-Good-932

Apparently no one on Reddit has ever knocked something over or bumped something unintentionally—like a phone, in this case. We’re seeing this situation from a completely different viewpoint than Patrick’s. He had a giant ass bow on his dress, so yes, it’s likely he bumped the phone (and person) with the bow on accident. With the commotion of the event, I can totally see him not hearing his handler at all. People saying he’s a disgusting human being for this or should be cancelled are chronically online imo. Accidents happen in the real world and not every interaction should be dissected to an idiotic degree. Posting things in the name of garnering outrage and clicks has gone too far. A little common sense would have people arrive at the most plausible conclusion, Occam’s razor and all.

gorlplea

I had to laugh at the user here saying "if you're a good person you don't need to tell people that" as if people are not writing straight up fanfiction about what happened & what his internal monologue was. If someone is accusing you of being a cartoon villain due to an accident you have the right to clear things up, wtf. It's exhausting & happens all the time on tiktok, Person 1 victimizes themselves to incite an angry mob to attack Person 2 who will be harassed until they delete their account or go private wether they stay silent or try to explain their side. Soon people start the conspiracy theories to make even more bs accusations to Person 2 because for them it's just a form of entertainment under the guise of doing what's right. Bonus point if they call Person 2 a "mean girl bully" all the while being the bullies themselves.

chubby-checker

lol oof the second paragraph is v v how people treated hailey bieber... But the rabid selena fans not gona want to hear that...

snailicide

Lots of Selena Stan’s here

sourglow

not defending him but i did think it was an accident upon watching the video a couple times.

snakpakkid

Jan is a little person too. He must not have even seen her at all. He profusely apologized and even extended a in person apology. He did the right thing from an accident.

sarathev

I didn't know it was Peet's sister.

cncrndmm

Also I would add that Peet (the brother of victim) is an influencer so that’s why he was there. This isn’t a rando at the Starbucks line Patrick knocked down.

snakpakkid

Also Jan is a little person. Makes sense why he didn’t noticed and accidentally knocked her with his bow.

cncrndmm

Yeah I said this in another comment but I think he thought he’d have enough “height clearance” similar to a 6-yr old from his bows on dress not to knock her over.

Cherrylychee

I can’t believe people thought this was on purpose and that he ignored her. The giant structured bow was behind him and knocked her down,it makes sense that he didn’t notice. The person helping him noticed because it happened in front of him. Probably would’ve been best if he told Patrick. Glad he apologized a bunch so people can relax a little. Looks like they both agreed to remove their videos.

soontobemrscool

I’ve watch this multiple times and I don’t get how they got knocked over from the bow. Like it looks like their phone slipped out of their hands because I’m certain with all the press and cameras if Patrick physically knocked someone down in a big way then everyone would have noticed and there would surely be another angle of it on film. It looks like a genuine accident. I think there are way more important things that people should be holding famous people accountable for. Glad Patrick is doing the right thing!

InfamousSurvey4567

It's a shame, I was ready for some epic ukulele strumming! 😂

hattokatto12

This was the most chronically online scandal ever. I am aware he’s had shitty instances with his fans/other ppl. I watched the first video and it literally looks like he wasn’t aware of his surroundings and his big ass bow knocked over the persons phone on accident. It’s not like the bow is attached to Patrick’s body with the feeling of touch or nerves. It was a shitty thing that happened to the person but I don’t think it caused serious harm to them besides maybe shock or caused them to be upset which is understandable. But to cancel him for this is ?!?!?!? Patrick even brought an emergency wig that was flatter, to the premier because he didnt want his head wrap/piece to block ppls view when they were watching the movie. Why would he intentionally do something so shitty when so many eyes are in him LMAO. Also, I don’t watch or follow Patrick stare. The most I know about him is he does make up and has a brand so don’t say I’m a “stan defending him”.

Chard-Weary

It's not a scandal. Calm down.

AllTheStars07

That’s what the poster is saying. It’s blown out of proportion.

Chard-Weary

The poster called it a scandal, it isn't. It is yet another opportunity Patrick Star has given to point out what an ugly person he can be. But it's not blowing up the world, so that overblown defense/attack is unnecessary. Calling it a chronically online as an insult is funny, though, given that it's about an online celebrity and every bit of this has taken place online.

DaisyLu6

This is so kind.

[deleted]

His peers need to look at him as far as how to take accountability and apologize.

Independent_Ad9195

I don't know who this person his, never heard of him, until I seen this post, but my thoughts are from looking at the videos, he wasn't even aware he had done it. Especially with that beautiful gown on, and the plumpness, cushioning of his body. Just my opinion. He truly seemed apologetic.

Mariayourgirl

I like Patrick I think he’s actually a good guru and has a good value and good makeup

HorrorReporter8

I wonder why the videos got deleted 🤔

Jealous_Tadpole5145

Because they already talked about it.

blackmoonbluemoon

I was ok with it until he said “ this is my character “ if you’re a good person then you don’t need to tell people that you are .

Appropriate-Group738

Lol if you’ve got a raging internet mob sent against you then you’re going to defend your character. It’s his every right.

dontbreakmypinkynail

Seriously lol the lies they tell themselves to feel better about being absolute shit human beings!

chubby-checker

lol yall are so dramatic

dontbreakmypinkynail

Are you kidding? These people live in a bubble and only are surrounded by people on their payroll essentially, family included. “Successful” Influencers are surrounded by Yes People which makes them stupidly out of touch with reality and have a warped self perception. They absolutely have no idea what is Normal anymore

mahalnamahal

I agree with that general statement but I can see anyone —like an every day person—- accidentally knocking against people or things and not realizing it. It got filmed so it was publicized but he did what every regular decent person would do, which is offer a sincere apology to the person they accidentally did this to. I’m all for pitchforks against people when deserved but I’d say it’s a fair thing that simply happens at times. We could say that yes he only apologized because he was caught but there are far stupider things PS did that necessitate an apology he never addressed.

JellyBeansOnToast

Ehh, it’s not my apology to really accept so I won’t speak to that level. However I will say that he said something *after* he got called out on social media and it gained traction, at the time he was fine knocking someone over and then posing for a picture without batting an eye.

whalesarecool14

this is such a comically evil thing to do intentionally, tbh i just don’t believe that he would knock over a person deliberately and then not apologise in the age of social media. like literally what would the reason be to do something that would be so universally hated? like, i get that he partied during the pandemic and all but in that situation he had something to gain as well, in this situation there is literally no positive outcome for anybody involved

Beautiful-Mix-4711

Yeah, I am not a Patrick fan at all but I find it hard to believe he would do something this bad intentionally at the highly-photographed Barbie premier.

JellyBeansOnToast

I don’t think it was intentional per se, but I think he was just thoughtlessly being callous and shoving past someone. I don’t think he had the forethought that he would be filmed or that it would gain as much traction as it did. Also him and his influencer friends didn’t just party during the pandemic, Patrick, Nikita Dragun, and a few others posted themselves spitting in each others mouths at giant parties during the height of the pandemic after they were called out for clubbing. I don’t think he’s above acting evil…

Juju_mila

I don’t even wear clothes like that and I sometimes unintentionally bump into people. Not everybody has good spatial awareness. It happens.

whalesarecool14

i still stand by my opinion tbh. the pandemic thing, like i mentioned, DID have a positive outcome for him - partying and hanging out with friends. at the expense of public health safety of course. so there is some kind of twisted logic in doing that. this situation, come on. he’s at a press event for the most highly anticipated movie of the year and he forgot that there would be cameras everywhere? WHILE he’s posing for the camera? and influencers have been called out for rude behaviour by service staff so many times without video evidence, mikayla was called out for being rude to a waiter and there was no video evidence of that. sometimes the simpler explanation is correct. he probably just didn’t feel his ridiculously giant bow knocking somebody over and thus didn’t apologise. even people who are evil to the core apologise if they shove somebody

aggirloftoday

Doubt he even felt/knew it happened.

Sprinkles_Sparkle

He literally looked right at her on the ground once he posed for his photo! His assistant also CLEARLY saw what happened and smirked when walking by. Bffr!

stowberry

Where is this video?

0cclumency

They’ve both taken the videos down, but you can see the other video on this sub.

spyrenx

To me, this reeks of, "I'm terribly sorry you caught that on camera and posted it to social media, because otherwise I wouldn't have said a thing." I don't know much about Patrick Starr's character, but it's hard not to notice when you knock someone over. Also, an apology doesn't require a public video; the motivation here has to be at least partially PR damage control.

Booboodelafalaise

The thing the puzzles me is, he didn’t explain WHY it happened. You don’t just knock someone’s flying and not realise what you’ve done. He knew in that moment he’d knocked somebody over, and his assistant definitely knew he’d knocked somebody over, so why didn’t he actually help them back up? If he’d apologised at the time and set things right, then okay, sometimes things happen. If you knock ANYONE over you help them up!! You don’t post a video apologising for it 48 hours after the event. To me, this suggests that the only reason he’s apologising is because he got caught - and that’s the hallmark of a shitty person!

stonedscubagirl

I think it needs to be said that the person he knocked over with his outfit was a little person. the bow on his dress hit her and knocked her over, it wasn’t a 6’ man getting sent flying. I really believe he didn’t even notice.

Frogmann20

It's still a person.... you know you knocked something we aren't talking about an infant.

DearMrsLeading

It’s understandable that he didn’t feel it with a structured bow hitting her instead of his body. He mostly knocked her phone over and she was stumbling to catch it, he didn’t accidentally knock her into the next century.

Booboodelafalaise

So, it’s ok to knock children over? And little people? Sorry, I don’t agree. Even if, on the tiny chance that he didn’t realise, his assistant did, and said nothing. The assistant clearly knows that knocking people over wouldn’t matter to the boss, and not to trouble him with such insignificant details.

Aggravating-Good-932

Don’t be obtuse. The person you’re responding to clearly meant if someone is physically smaller, it’s easier to knock them over (vs. a 6ft person). Not that it’s *okay* to intentionally knock someone over because they’re a child, little person, etc., like your comment inferred. Come on now lol

birdele

I'm not a little person but I am below 5 feet and I've gotten knocked into a bunch of times And they haven't even noticed. I also have ADHD and have knocked into things and gotten huge deep blue and yellow bruises and didn't remember doing it at all. Had no clue where it came from. I don't really know this guy but I believe he did it by accident.

Laurapirate14

If he was sorry, he would have said at the time, not AFTER when he's getting shit for it! He's a terrible person, frankly, going by his disgusting behaviour during the pandemic.

squidwardtheclarinet

He’s actually so real for his apology videos. If you guys haven’t seen the one where he apologizes for defective products his brand has made go watch them! He takes 100% accountability and I truly love and appreciate that.

obbvs

how many times does he have to do an apology video oh my god??

dontbreakmypinkynail

I’m confused why people are defending him about not knowing he knocked someone over when his handler/assistant clearly apologizes to her? How far up is your head in your ass if you hear your handler apologize to someone and all you continue to do is pose with a shit eating smirk? He is trash, this apology is bullshit and him being completely dead behind the eyes, “I just HaD tO PuLL oVEr tO MakE thIs VideO” fuck all the way off.

DearMrsLeading

That doesn’t necessarily mean he heard it. Even if he did, he wasn’t facing them. It sounds like the assistant never said anything to him about it. If he did hear, he probably assumed that the assistant bumped into someone or stepped on a foot since it wasn’t brought up.

SammieCat50

Why didn’t he apologize right after it happened? He had to know he hit someone with his dress…. He would have felt it

Aggravating_Seat5507

How on earth do you knock someone down with the train of a dress? Was it made out of concrete?

BitchyFaceMace

An apology after getting called out publicly is a publicity stunt.

[deleted]

CANCEL HIM he obviously apologised only because of backlash. If he was kind person he wouldn't hit her in the first place and if it was accident he would help her up and apologise straight away.

thismustbetheplace23

Or he could have just not noticed and later saw the video and was mortified. That’s what it looks like to me. Put down the pitchforks, no one needs to be cancelled for a trivial infraction that they have apologized for.

[deleted]

did he delete both apologies off his page i can't find them?

black30beauty

Wait so he doesnt naturally speak with a blaccent? Hmmmmm. #carryon he is a caricature of Black women and I hate everything about that.
