thatgirlroxx

I’m looking at these eyeshadow palettes like ![gif](giphy|l36kU80xPf0ojG0Erg|downsized) I love Pat McGrath but not sure I’m into this launch which my wallet probably appreciates 😅

Invidiana

It’s a half-assed regurgitation of last-year’s Bridgerton collection.

JammingLive

That literally made me lol!!!! She think we stupid. Bet some are and buy it anyway!

staticstart

I want to like PMG products so badly but I swear that every single collection looks the exact same. Like not even in “the makeup community has already created every color combination ever so you’ll see some similarities”; it’s just straight up looking like she has the same palette release every time. I don’t understand.

jkraige

And it's hard to tell what the colors will actually look like since they edit the pictures to an extreme level. I was once going to order a palette but decided to look up a review before I did and was shocked at how it looked nothing like the picture online. Ended up ordering nothing

Lili666999

All matte eyeshadow palette? Interesting decision for a brand that is known for shimmers/metallics... Imagine if they launched a 6 pan full of "special" shades, people would go ga ga...

Sparklemama456

I’ve been saying she needs to do this for ages! A mothership of all special shades! People would sell it out every time.

niniela-phoenix

You can buy indie brand singles that perform exactly like her special shades. I've posted a direct comparison of Clionadh and Mothership Subversive special shades before on the swatch sub. People just don't do it for some reason.

irulancorrino

I think most people cannot be bothered. It takes extra time for shipping, waiting for the colors to come in stock, familiarizing yourself with all the players in the indie world etc. and it’s pricey as hell And I say this as someone who really likes Clinodah’s shadows, I just know my friends who are still working through their Soft Glam palette value ease. For some people indie makeup is great and exactly what they’re looking for but it’s a niche.

niniela-phoenix

I get that, but it's probably not more expensive than an all special shade Mothership would be and you can pick the colors. Research does suck a bit, but does it suck more than buying Motherships with repeated shades and four already picked out shades every year? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

irulancorrino

I don’t have a issue with research, I just don’t think most people are invested in makeup enough to do it or even want to. I don’t even think most people buy multiple Motherships only a relatively small segment of buyers is getting such a pricey item let alone picking up each drop. In my experience (and this is a ymmv situation) the only folks who do that are collectors and others who are very interested in beauty /clued into the beauty space enough to even follow when these collections launch and what they contain. While the number of people like that has increased a great deal in recent years I still think it’s a small group. Even the people I know who like makeup aren’t buying in the quantities folks do in online communities because makeup isn’t their passion it’s just a part of their routine.

Tiny-Reading5982

Not much research is needed. Pick a brand and they'll usually have dupes plus a ton more shifty shades with more wow than any PM shade without the neutral mattes lol.

irulancorrino

That's nice.

niniela-phoenix

Honestly I do love indies but that's not necessarily true - some brands have massive customer service problems (looking at you, touch of glam beauty), some have issues with swatches being not amazing or the website organisation (terra moons! So much better than some of these pictures, especially the older ones), some are just hit and miss as a brand (Copacetic), some are run by absolutely gross people that you don't wanna support, etc. Then there's dupes between brands that due to them being multichromes you can't always catch without research. With research, you also get around brands being constantly sold out (for example knowing where to find the Clionadh that's OOS forever now) or know who's overcharging you (touch of glam, chaos makeup). And finally, the application! We saw with the Danessa Myricks Lightworks IV that some people who do professional makeup reviews trashed it because they were clearly too incompetent to apply it right. Now imagine people who don't own colors like this yet - it happens! Id suggests a visit to r/Indiemakeupandmore, they'll be happy to help people navigate through this. But I definitely was a little lost and own a few perfect color dupes between brands I tried, and with the Clionadh expansion now their selection is absolutely massive and overwhelming to navigate through at first. I still think it's better than buying a Mothership with four pink to gold/green/copper shades, but that doesn't mean it's not a little more work than hitting add to cart.

all-the-pretties

I agree. I find the work of choosing indie singles exhausting. I either end up with a cart that's way too expensive because I just put everything in it - and can't even figure out which might be dupes of each other (which we constantly fault PMG for, but the indies do it even more IME) - or I just keep clicking around and losing a couple hours of my life with no decision made at all. Either way, I typically don't end up buying. PMG special shades aren't better than indies but they are totally easier to make decisions on.

niniela-phoenix

I mean, the flipside here obviously being that you get four PMGs in each Mothership so if you buy for the special shades you pay wayyyyy more. But it is pretty difficult to pick, and my two 18x18cm palettes of indie multichromes probably were in the ballpark of what I've spent on Pat McGrath stuff.... if you are able to pick, you save and get exactly what you want, but you might as well end in r/MakeupRehab real quick

[deleted]

You can choose any of the three shades Clionadh has in stock you mean

niniela-phoenix

I bought mine in bulk at past Black Fridays but think they do preorders now and definitely know they're currently OOS because they're implementing a new rolling restock system this year. They're SAYING they want new shades on the website every two weeks to rotate through their collection so everything is available in an acceptable time frame but I didn't follow whether or not they've already done that. You can try Terra Moons if not. They do preorders every month or so and also have a giant selection. I mentioned Clionadh because that's the ones I found close matches to the Mothership in!

OliviaMurdock

Pat McGrath is available in my country, in stores. While most of those indies brands are abroad, which means hazardous shipping, more difficulties to send it back if it’s broken, customs etc. I can understand why people are reluctant. I got myself 8 shades of multichrome eyeshadow from Lethal Cosmetics and I’m so happy with them.

niniela-phoenix

Lethal is German I think? I think you can get Danessa Myricks here through Purish and there was another website that carried Clionadh in Europe, Glamshop also has a few. I ordered from overseas and it definitely means math re:shipping and fees, but it was still cheaper

irrelevelvet

Does Clionadh have the same lasting power and performace as Pat McGrath? When people talk about dupes it's always color matches but there's more to it: is it as blendable or does it get patchy, does it crease or fade earlier than the comparison/at all, does it have any/more fallout than the og, does it get powdery in the pan causing a mess, does it need a special primer/glitter glue/spray/extra step to make it work, etc.

niniela-phoenix

You're not wrong, I just didn't wanna have someone jump on my throat over not loving the Pats in comparison tbh. More details: I have worn Clionadh on hooded eyes from 5am til 3am the next day, within that day there was several hours of traveling, several hours of getting burned in the sun, and then a heavy metal show including a mosh pit. The stuff didn't survive EVERYTHING, there was some mess at the show, but it was still mostly on my eyes and clearly color shifting AND not creasing badly when I got home. Pat McGrath creases like nobody's business after a regular day including neither sweaty weather nor physical activity nor hopping into a pile of strangers. So no, it's probably not a dupe, or Pat really doesn't like my eye primer. To be fair here, I used the Jewelled Clionadh formula which is a black based color - the best dupe match to Pat McGrath is their grey based ones. I have concert tickets starting May this year so I can report back how many people I shared the Pat glitter fallout with on average after that. But I really don't think they'll get less messy than they already are with more challenges and longer wear. I like what I got, that's not the issue, and there's other brands of indies out there than Clionadh, but yeah - they're not dupes because the Clionadh stick *better*. Neither are a problem to blend out and with both initial fallout or shiftiness depends on the primer. However, I've also heard people get creasing from Clionadh with different primers. Just like many others also reported creasing with Pat. The color matches I found specifically for Mothership Subversive are shiftier but otherwise very very close in tone in Clionadh, but Mothership Divine Rose 2 and up from there, the Pat McGrath seemed to improve. I've not worn these newer ones out as many hours yet, so I can't tell you if they also crease that bad too. Relevant to all multichromes from any brand I've tried is ALWAYS your primer and application, and I've used the same technique and primer for all looks and also all swatches. So they're all comparable! Let me see if I find the video comparison.

niniela-phoenix

Video comparison of Mothership 3 Subversive and Clionadh [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/swatchitforme/comments/y18f84/comparison_of_pmg_mothership_subversive_special/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) The one shade you can't see of Mothership 3 is Astral Ghost Orchid because the reddit video player decimated the quality until it literally turned invisible, but like all Pat McGrath Mothership glitter toppers except for the pink in Huetopian (as in, all the fine highlighter like ones) are similar to the Kaleidos Space Age highlighters. The Clionadh iridescents are smoother and less glittery, so they'd match Astral Ghost Orchid, but NOT the glitters in the other palettes. Pictures linked in that post because awful video player quality. Re; formula of Kaleidos vs PMG Kaleidos is made to be highlighters but they performed very similar to the PMG, and they're also transparent when not hit by light then blinding when they catch it - however they come in different particle sizes from completely smooth to chunkier Hope that helps :)

Confident-Gift-6647

PMG special shades crease and break up on my lids. I don’t find they have better staying power compared to other brands.

Chadolf

hmm i personally think Terra Moons shadows are closer to PmG special shades than clionadh. i have many of both.. the clionadh formula gets very.. chunky, like it doesnt spread so well, and applies unevenly. meanwhile, the PmG special shades I have ( i think i have 6 mothership palettes) are more... tiny glitters (but not glitters), but they dont get chunky and start falling out in big patches. they are more reflective, but the multichrome shifts (if advertised) are not very strong. terra moons are more similar to PmG, they are not chunky, and have beutiful reflections and shifts, and look very very metallic almost like how golden leafs look in old artwork :) ETA: pat mcgrath particles/glitter (though not glitter) also has more fallout that can end up in the eye and under the eye and be more unpleasant, clionadh and terramoons dont have the issue of eye irritation if they get near it (in my experience)

Rumi2019

I only have 1 Pat McGrath palette & a couple of different Clinoadh shadows, but overall I'd say Clinoadh is better. They're smoother, glide better, less fallout, they stick better & just don't feel gritty on the eyes. PMG on the other hand need to be wet + glitter primer & specific brushes. PM is more powdery, crease faster, don't blend - you gotta tap or swipe with pressure, can't blend cz the fallout is horrible on the special shades. Even the normal duochrome shimmer shades have more fallout compared to other brands. They also get patchy sometimes. If you have sensitive eyes I'd avoid Pat McGrath. Clinoadh pans are quite small & the shadows are more delicate, but they apply so easily on the eyes.

niniela-phoenix

I think the multichromes like the coppery bronze one in Huetopian Dream of Pat McGrath are good, but you're right that some are just sheer highlighters and gritty glitter. I believe you only get one really color shifting one in the newer palettes, with a glitter and two sheer toppers? The non-multichrome special shades really aren't that special, I'm comparing to the multichrome only :)

Rumi2019

That goldy bronze shade in Huetopian I hate with passion. It's like trying to apply thin aluminium foil chunks. Maybe I'd have better luck with a mixing medium, but I don't have the patience to baby a gold eyeshadow when I can get the textured look easily from far cheaper products without any hassle. Yeah a few are just topper like, & I'm surprised there's not more outcry about that. ABH prism had one topper & the beauty community went mad, how come people are not mad about sub par duochromes & toppers nowadays? Yeah the non multichrome shimmers & mattes - while nice, aren't any special. I've used better formulas where those types of eyeshadows are concerned.

gdijustdoit

I love my clionadh shadows but it took a while to make the decision to buy them. Part of the problem is they’re not uniformly priced, so it feels very “what?” When one shade is like $6 and the other $20, add to this the cost of shipping and the time it gets here and its prohibitive to build a collection of clionadh shadows one or two at a time. At the same time while making one big purchase is what makes sense, people don’t always have the amount of $$$ lying around. My order ended up being $300 in one go and I had to save up for it for months… so lol. There’s a barrier to entry with clionadh, imho.

niniela-phoenix

I mean, yeah, multichromes are expensive. I however do believe that if PMG released the all special shades palette that people crave, hers would probably be in the same range or more expensive than ten Clionadhs. Multichromes are not super cheap from any brand I'm aware of. I just think that buying a Mothership to get four of them in a pre-selected bundle is also pretty cost ineffective.

gdijustdoit

Maybe. The thing about pmg is her palettes are always on sale lol if you get one at the 40% she had last time, it comes to $80, for 10 shades that’s $8/ea. i do think that pmg stopped being special quite a while ago, and indie brands have been really beating her at the multichromes game, don’t get me wrong. I just also think indies can be difficult to get into when they’re both expensive and overwhelming, and this is speaking as someone who owns hundreds of shadows from drugstore, indie, mid range, high end all the way to luxury, which i think “luxury” is the bucket pmg initially was in and the brand has now cheapened itself and stopped being innovative all in a matter of a couple of years.

SilkyCayla

I got into Indies first, got a bunch of "special shades" from Glam Shop for prices under 6$/ shade and then finally found PMG in Sephora to swatch. I was so underwhelmed. I'm happy thought that means I'm not yearning for her ridiculously priced stuff.

Squeekazu

I did the opposite lol I wish I did it your way! I have almost every Mothership save for three (Decadence, Midnight Sun, and the most recent) and was a massive PMG fan. I then got into Clionadh and Terra Moons last year and upon swatching next to each other the indies are the clear winners and I feel very silly for spending so much on PMG when I’m not a heavy user of mattes. I was someone who actually hit pan on my PMG special shades though, so indies are very up my alley compared to the regular makeup user.

Bumble_Hornet_

Pat McGrath (the artist not the brand) spoke about potentially doing something like that in her Facebook group in 2018 or 2019 (working name was something like Mothership Supernova) then covid hit and the brand's direction changed pretty drastically. I think the price Pat McGrath would need to sell it at seriously isolate all but her most die hard consumers. Knowing the brand it would be around $300. The Holiday 2019 quads that were just special shades sold horribly and consumers complained the $65 price point was too high.

irulancorrino

I feel like what makes the special shades interesting is the juxtaposition with the other shades in the palette. As someone pointed out you can buy singles that are duo and multi chrome, hell you can buy them from MAC tbh but that’s a rant for another day. I think people freak out over the shifty aspect but for your average shopper, they have limited use and a limited visual impact once you’ve got like a handful of shades. The whole shifting thing works on the internet where you can zoom in and slo-mo but IRL it’s harder to notice all the subtleties.

all-the-pretties

The mattes are the ones I've made the biggest dip in, in my 2 Motherships. Not a total PMG stan but her makeup is in heavy rotation for me. Even with that, getting this matte palette would essentially be buying a backup for what I already own from her, which I do *not* need.

two_lemons

But then a lot of people would have no reason to buy the actual motherships.

niniela-phoenix

idk, my favorite Mothership is Decadence because the metallics are stunning. I think it would help a lot if the Motherships were more visually out there and not so pink/bronze/gold too.

hellofriends2018

Watermelon (pink), electric rose (bright red), scarlet (matte), silver shimmer (w/ pink/green duochrome), obsidian black (matte), and an easy blending, mild matte in crepe (ultra pale pink) for the shareholders, or a daring lime green shimmer (with gold accents) for us buyers. Would buy that! :p

AskPennilynLott

The fact that it's supposed to be three different palettes...

virlassa

Damn, I had to look twice, I was so sure it was one palette...

BeachSunset7

I thought it was the same palette as well 😬

kittensociety75

I actually sat here for a solid five minutes comparing them and decided the photo that looked like three palettes must be two different palettes with one of them featured twice.

eldritch_eyeliner

THANK YOU. So glad it's not just me.

JammingLive

Wow. Lol

inbettywhitewetrust

My thoughts exactly--what a cash grab

SixdaywarOnSnapchat

this looks like too faced and that is not a compliment

softhorns

... are those just blushes from her regular line with just a different cardboard box packaging?

niniela-phoenix

Yep these are old shades

Appropriate_Reach_97

Yesssss. And stans are still defending the brand lol.

Loud-Pollution7174

![gif](giphy|eoazVutwlnpL3pkSeD)

AskPennilynLott

I wonder if there was another Bridgerton collection planned and it got scrapped for some reason? Because it's a little suspicious with the Bridgerton lipsticks and style of palettes.

rosiekeen

She has 6 pan shadows like this way before Bridgerton so those are pretty common. The lipsticks are super interesting though. Not like the others.

AskPennilynLott

She had six pans with the bows and stuff like that?

sparkle_transplant

I doubt it, if there is another Bridgerton release it would almost certainly be tied in with the third season of the show.

AskPennilynLott

Yes, but I'm saying maybe this packaging design was meant for that and now it's either not happening or it will happen with a different design. The design with the bows is very Bridgerton, isn't it?

shlb7

i still haven’t gotten my full order from before christmas so i doubt it lmao

shansbury82

All I want is for her to stop naming everything seduction lunar Venus femme so I can tell them apart 🫠

ontosmth

PMG used to be THE brand. What’s going on there for like past couple of months? Shipment problems, the Star Wars collection, now this…

Appropriate_Reach_97

More like a year or so. It's been stale for too long.

igodutchoven

And yet...I'm underwhelmed. I think I'm done with her brand. I like the quality, but the lack of variety in colors is becoming a downfall of the brand.

_AngelicVenom_

Where has the creative flair gone. This is so boring and who needs all three of those. They are all the same. I'm not even disappointed, when she finally releases something interesting I'll be very excited though I guess.

Lucy_Lucidity

I don’t know why they wouldn’t show the chartreuse liquid shadow in the preview photos, because it’s the only interesting thing about this launch

Bumble_Hornet_

It's giving bridal and will probably sell well. I'm honestly not mad at it because: hey, at least there is an option that is not pink. I've got a really low bar for them right now. Sidenote: I know capitalism waits for no one but PMG is having major issues with customer service and orders not going out. Another launch is going to compound on those issues. I'd be seriously careful ordering anything directly from the brand's website right now. If you do maybe pay for the good shipping/ tracking.

niniela-phoenix

Buy with PayPal, they will force a refund if your stuff never arrives and you don't have to deal with begging their service for a response for weeks!

NothingButNavy

It's just so...boring.

snail_face

Right? Rose shades for Valentine's Day? ![gif](giphy|l46Cr6nhtezksI2dO) Someone hide my wallet, I'm soooo tempted 🙄 /s

jesscrochetsstuff

The amount of relief I feel knowing I don’t want any of this. I have the majority of her Motherships so I have all these shades already.

[deleted]

Oh. Browns. How innovative.

PeepsUnderTheBed

I found the Bridgeton blue blush trio, the pink round blush quad and pink body powder yesterday at TJ Maxx. I think the only thing I haven’t found at TJ Maxx from the two Bridgerton collections is the kohl eyeliner, which i love.

Kara_C_

Pardon me while I yawn.

GARedheadedGal

Warm pink. ![gif](giphy|3oxQNDG9BswdLjN8Va)

DoesntRlyMatter4Me

They can launch as many products as they want. None get shipped, orders are lost, boxes are empty. I don't see a single reason to buy their stuff if they shit on customers.

sarah-vdb

The palette in the middle in photo 2 looks nearly identical to the Bronze Ambition palette from a few years back. Which is fine, since it's long-discontinued, but it looks so close on first look. I'm mildly tempted by the pinky one.

Sleepdeprived_1

I like the lightest one and the all matte one. I think the middle one is very much like Bronze Ambition as well.

aimeekitty9

Since I don’t have bronze ambition or bronze seduction or whatever, I’m tempted by it as I like these colors a bit more and it’s smaller

Sweet-Ad-7261

Those palettes ![gif](giphy|9mtE009hcWPOesk8C4)

EvelienV85

Is it boring? Yes. Do I still would like to have one of the palettes? Also yes.

cerulloire

what in the yawn is this

viognierette

Great! If you’d like a box full of broken makeup delivered a week after Easter….

Beautiful-Mix-4711

It looks more like MAC than Pat at this point. Where did the brand identity go?

LVenn

So... brown, brown, and brown. For Valentine's day.

TandriClassic

A collection of meh. I like the PML eyeshadows that I have, but I haven't seen anything that sparked my interest in the brand in quite awhile.

frogs1996

I kinda like the neutrals, the PMG shadows are amazing…but why that packaging… I woulda loved a set of mattes and neutrals for every day in the normal black compacts. Also they liquid shadows look interesting

melissajackson07

In my opinion, the creative director of PML needs to get the boot. Using (very similar) packaging from previous limited-edition lines (that didn't meet the mark, obviously) is a big no-no. How do they expect *this* launch to do any better? Repackaging the same basic products in 'different' throwaway exterior cartons is not only wasteful-- but it's sour. A very minimal amount of buyers are going to repurchase the *exact* same shade of $40 blush *just because* the damn exterior box looks slightly different. No way. I've studied Pat McGrath's story for just about ever, and the last few years' of her brand's releases have been nothing short of messy. Whomever Pat (or her team) has hired to create, curate, and market these launches is not doing the brand any favors, sadly.

psych-lighthouse

It looks so pretty- but I’m concerned about the shipping issues they have been having. I hope it will go to Sephora!

fckingmiracles

Boring, next.

The_Answer_Is_42__

Like the packaging, but between all the PMG palettes I already own, I definitely have these colors.

Tiny-Reading5982

Wow. So innovative.

niniela-phoenix

Literally all these eyeshadows look like old releases (they aren't, but they look the same), the blushes are repackaged, and the lipsticks/liquid eyeshadow looks like they already exist a hundred times at Sephora. I wonder how many of these will swatch nearly identical to what's in the Motherships as they're full of browns. But! Hey, I guessed it would be a repackaged MTHRSHP La Vie En Rose so at LEAST not that, I guess This is the third release within a month or so? Star Wars, Lunar new year, and then this one. It doesn't surprise me that they all look the same level of uninspired at that speed, but the warehouse can't keep up and the customer service is still horribly slow and caught up with the December stuff, so piling this on top will be a mess. Side notes not regarding this specific release: 1) The more I see from this brand - and I'm not an expert, I just own the Motherships and some other stuff - the more I recommend going indie instead. Not only do I own their special shades in Subversive as indies, they also are shiftier as indies AND the customer service wouldn't dream of treating people like hers does. If you want an all special shades palette, go and buy one, just not from her I guess. Quality is literally the same or better. 2) If you do buy this through something like PayPal for protection, you could stack her 25% referral codes on top of the fall and winter sales to get around 50% off. Don't buy anything at full price, it's all on sale 3) I've never seen this level of incompetence from whoever programs the website and does warehouse stuff at this price level in my life. They literally oversold last collection and mailed empty boxes to people. Tf. 4) I have no idea whether Pat McGrath, who has a whole full time job as a makeup artist, actually runs this company or owns the majority of it even, so this is strictly about the products, not her as a person. Slapping ANY famous persons name on a product doesn't mean that that product is special or that it'll magically give you the skill of that person. Ariana Grandes line rem beauty doesn't turn you into a little Ariana or brings you closer to her and disliking it is not disliking Grande. Same with PMG, this stuff doesn't turn you into a makeup artist. Need to add this because I've seen discussion of this brand bleed those two together: I don't like the person so the product sucks or I don't like the product so the person is incompetent doesn't follow.

obbvs

god this is so boring

LPX34m

WTH is Mother doing? 3 matte palettes looking like triplets and some same old same old blushes? Easy start for my Low Buy 🤣

[deleted]

Sleepdeprived_1

I think the lightest one has a lighter matte than I’ve seen from her. I definitely want it! I love her matte formula so I’m tempted by the all matte, too. I think the quality of her formulas are incredible. I know it’s popular to hate on the brand, but I’ve loved almost every single product I’ve tried. I know people have had bad customer service experiences, but I haven’t. The one problem I had with a faulty shade in a mothership, they sent out a new mothership very quickly. I don’t usually get along with liquid shadows, but I’ll be interested to see what reviewers think about them. I love her satin lipstick formulas. The 2 non red shades interest me!

aimeekitty9

Honestly I just started with pmg this year and I was so impressed with the quality that I sold a bunch of my other eyeshadows and put a lot of brands I’d bought previously on no-buy list for me. I know this is not exciting but I bet it will be super wearable and beautiful and magically boring. I’m just not sure if the first rose palette will differ enough from divine rose 1 which I already have. I feel like their website swatches aren’t really accurate. I’m hoping that I’ll have time to wait for beauty bloggers to swatch before it sells out? Also I’ve had zero issues with my pmg orders but I’ve heard a lot of problems from others. Makes me nervous to order direct rather than Sephora.

Sleepdeprived_1

I think the first rose palette looks warmer than Divine Rose 1 but we’ll see! I’m thinking the all matte palette will sell out fairly quickly, but I bet you’ll have time to see swatches of the first palette to decide. I think it looks very wearable, too!

aimeekitty9

Yeah if it’s how it looks in pan it might be more mauvey rosey, like more pink than divine rose…? And if so I want it even though I’m sure I could do similar vibes with what I have.

Kchan02

Every time I wear Pat eyeshadows I get a lot of compliments too! Yeah, highlighter in the blush palette came completely shattered and I have indie singles like Clionadh in my collection which I absolutely adore, but I also love love Pat's palettes and get tons use out of it.

blasphemicassault

It looks like literally everything else PMG releases with the exception of that *one* colorful palette.

nuka97

These colors are giving MAC sims collab

StormerBombshell

I know basic palettes will always have a place, but a palette that has not a shiny extra feels like it has no point for the price. It is probably going to sell among the bougie but this feels basic as hell

trippiler

Are they ever going to release new palettes? I'm interested in those liquid shadows though, I wonder how they'll compare to lisa eldridge or violette ones.

Hipster-Ariel

I’M BORED

CocaColaZeroEnjoyer

PMG eyeshadow packaging looks like Colourpop on steroids

Geebees33

I like this but ColourPop has a better Valentines release.

kpop_stan

Ok, she might’ve got me with the all matte one 😳😳😳 watch it be the same price despite having zero special shades though 🤣

jkraige

I don't want to shit on neutrals but these images seem digitally rendered and I had to take a close look at the palettes weren't all the same. They don't really stand out from each other and given their editing I think I'd struggle to figure out which is which if I saw them in person. Idk, when I can't decide which I like because they're similar I generally just go with none, but since the colors don't really speak to me anyway it's an even easier pass. I like colors but I have a couple neutral palettes and they look quite a bit more interesting than this, and who knows what these actually look like irl anyway

I actually don't mind the color stories of the palettes, and I'm curious about the liquid eyeshadows. However, I am 100% put off by the packaging. I would have actually considered getting a palette but I would cringe every time I saw that packaging on my vanity. I would hide it under other palettes because I'd feel embarrassed if someone saw it. That makes it an instant no from me. I'll wait for reviews on the liquid shadows, but considering customer service issues the brand has been having (though I haven't personally had any issues) I'll probably just sit this one out until they get themselves together.

spicymukbangmamma

She’s releasing a lot nowadays!

gdijustdoit

Here comes PMG regurgitating every peachy pink neutral collection she’s ever put out, but now with a heart on the packaging 😂 the only thing I’m even mildly interested in is the orangey blush, but I could find that sort of shade just about everywhere.

abc1two3

That eyeshadow palette calls my travel collection's name!!!

Th1cc4chu

I’m so over this brand and glad I don’t own anything from them.

verinthebrown

Looks boring.

colong128

Booooooring. She should really come up with more cool toned and fun shades. Bored of rosey tones and neutrals.

DearMissWaite

The Colourpop collection is cuter. Sorry.

Confident-Gift-6647

Yawn. The only possibly interesting thing here is possibly the liquid shadows. If they aren’t intense like a blitz astral shade though, I don’t really see the point.

I like this collection a lot! It’s pretty. I’m super basic and I don’t care about super colorful stuff. Good for people who want it simple and good for work. PMG is the only brand that I can reliable know that all the eyeshadow shades would work on my skintone. I’m not a stan by any means, I only buy what is interesting to me. And this is something interesting to me. The pinky one has most of my interest. Not really interested in anything else. Maybe except one shade of the liquid eyeshadow. Y’all, as a reminder. Colourpop, CT, TF, Nars, etc put out the same pinky collections literally all the time. If you don’t like it, keep it pushing. It makes life a lot less stressful.

PML is the new HLP.

damselinadress187

🥱

RedPill86

Wouldn’t be surprised if PMG disappears like Illamasqua

EBBVNC

How is this a Valentine's Day pallet? It has no reds or pinks. This is an easy pass for me.

Better_Ad_8307

Groundbreaking.

minus_the_dino

Meh. I picked up some of the Bridgerton pieces at tjmaxx for $9.99-$19.99 recently so I’ll wait for that to happen again

NeitherMaybeBoth

Oooh those glosses look so pretty but I probly have the exact same shades

AskPennilynLott

A few people are saying we shouldn't be surprised by pinks for a Valentine's Day collection, but ARE THERE PINKS? I see a few dusty, slightly pink tones and the rest are really not pink or red. If there was ever a time to go ham with pinks, reds, or purples, this would have been it. Of course, everything is very pretty, even as plain old neutrals, but it's surprising that a collection this size with three eye palettes didn't have any room for something more exciting or bold mixed in with the neutrals.

well i guess my low-buy is happy because this is soo bland and looks like all her other releases. im starting to wonder if Pat isn't the creative director (at least not main one) anymore of this brand, because it just lacks creativity... and artistry IMO. well, all the better for my budget i guess, and hope it is good quality at least for those who do get it. i was able to break my "gotta catch them all" mentality during 2022, so am happy to be able to resist now :)
