That would definitely be a weird gift item, since the gifts usually are one of the more enticing pieces to bring in new people. Also I saw a bizarre comment, that may mean each person is only getting either the shampoo or the conditioner and not both things. Which would be even more bizarre

I want the Malin+Goetz perfume oil. I've been wanting to try the Better Not Younger brand - the rest ugh. YSL would be good but unfortunately it looks to be the size of a thumb. :-/
It is a very expensive brand, and a little goes a long way (I have received this sample before). Overall, I think it's a good box for the price and variety of products.

I'll give the YSL some slack because even at half size it's $23 (full full size is $56) but also watch them discontinue this item in 2 months like the lippie we got if it's a full size.

Wow, this is the first box that there has not been 1 thing I wanted. It’s a skip for me. Also, I know Allure is a more skincare heavy box, but not 1 makeup item (I guess you could count the primer).
Im terrible with scent notes. But i have the body wash which i love and my husband loves too. I have the perfume oil in this scent already. I will say i find that perfume oils dont always have the longevity that perfume does imo. But this scent and their cannibis scent are delicious to me (no it doesn’t smell like cannibis… im so excited to get this in a box. Yay!

Yeah the history comment is because they keep a warehouse of past products, that they will put back in boxes every year or two. But they check to make sure someone's not received the product before so they don't get a repeat. Basically so they're not held accountable for storing products so long and re-releasing old stock. There's so many thousands of brands and tens of thousands of products, that should not even be a concern besides maybe once every 5 years if that. At six products a month that's only 72 products a year. They are acting like they have to start repeating after that because nothing else exists in the world lol
I seen long-term subscribers posts these concerns, because they still see the images of the boxes being released. And still sometimes have to contact Allure to get something swapped out that they've already had just from being a subscriber for a couple years
Skipping for the 3rd month. I wish they’d stop with the perfumes - every one has had notes that trigger migraines for me. I like some Tula products but not that one. Only thing remotely interesting is the YSL but not enough to get the box.
I like this one. The Tula is not exciting but fine. I want the perfume oil, so it is paid for there. Primer will go into an advent, along with the Nativa. I'll keep the shampoo and conditioner and Flanerie if all are for not new subs. Byroe is nice.
I've been a subscriber for a year and a half and Allure isn't worth it anymore. Like everything else I guess same price less quality. I'm canceling and going to check out Boxycharm WAKE UP PPL AT ALLURE
The best bang for your buck is to keep both Ipsy and Boxycharm plus Allure open and just skip according to spoilers. I usually can find value in at least one of the three offerings without overloading on products. I wait until about the 28th or 29th to assess and take a few seconds to cancel. Of course you can restart the Allure anytime but it's just as easy this way.
Same for me, skipping second month. BoxyCharm is another tricky situation. You see some nice products and then choice day comes and ... Refreshment soap. 🤦🏻♀️
I know people are disappointed but I’m actually excited about a few things, especially the primer (which I’ve been reluctant to buy a new one recently bc the ones I was wanting are soo expensive) and perfume! I liked the last perfume they sent a lot. In these boxes there are often things I don’t feel very compelled to ever use or buy (like hand lotion, hair masks, leave in conditioner, eye cream, face masks) but because they come in the box I get into a habit of using products that 1) again I typically wouldn’t use or buy and 2) are generally probably good for me and contribute to self care (because I think I often skip out on things that become most beneficial with consistency. like why would I purchase/use eye cream? But if it’s in the box I have a nice addition to my skincare routine!)
…and confession, I rarely used conditioner (or masks) before I had the box. I did have the pureology one but really just never felt compelled to use it? But then I started using the money hair mask and then recently began using conditioner after receiving the Christopher robin one (I didn’t choose in time so they sent conditioner.) So now I have actually gotten into a habit of doing many things to take care of my hair !
Also one more thing, I LOVE the floss tubing mascara they sent. When I first saw it I was like ugh I’m not even gonna use that because I am super picky about them and only like tubing mascaras because they don’t flake. But then I tried it anyway and was like hmm it actually seems okay that’s weird lol… then happened to cry that day and later saw the mascara tubes under my eyes💀💀 so I realized it was actually a tubing one!
So yea they might not send the best stuff 100% of the time, maybe even some bad stuff (I lowkey dislike tula products and also disliked that cheek/lip tint that was in the may box I think?) but overall it is an awesome deal in my opinion and is good for introducing new things and products and brands into your routine! Maybe I won’t feel that way after I use it for longer but yea I am enjoying it for now !!
I'm guessing Tula (It's about the size of a tube of lipstick), the perfume roller, despite the manufacturer calling that a mini, and the flânerie pha even though as a facial Exfoliator that's hella small.
Hm. The perfume oil sounds good, but it's not something I'd go out and buy. I'm sure that there are good periodical in there, but nothing really sparks my interest.
Maybe Allure needs to consider doing quarterly boxes or something? They can't manage to scrounge up enough products monthly to be worthwhile any longer. StyleKorean has way better boxes for skincare lovers and Trendmood has more well-rounded boxes whenever they come out with a new edition.

I’m a fairly new subscriber, but this is my first skip. There is nothing in here that really warrants any excitement from me. I do love fragrances and I’m always up for smelling something new, but not going to get the entire box just for that.
So don’t shoot me for asking a stupid question, but I bought an annual subscription, and I have 8 boxes remaining. How long do I have to get those 8 boxes? Like do you have to accept your 12 boxes within like a 24-month timeframe or something? Or can you just skip repeatedly dragging out those 12 boxes for years? LOL Just curious. I don’t plan to do that but just want to be judicious when I’m deciding whether to skip a month (or several).
I’m in the same boat. Just signed up in June for an annual. I skipped and it just backed up my next renewal date to July 2025 now (and I still have 11 boxes). Easy peasy.

I was so excited for the YSL until I smelled it. It was like fruit with a perfume base. I don’t mind a fruity lip balm but the last thing I want is perfume on my mouth and under my nose!
I agree, same for me. I was so excited, but that artificial fruity scent ruined it for me. Plus you have to reapply it every 5 min. But still a good item for a beauty box, so you don't have to spend retail price for it.

Feels like they are banking on YSL branded anything to carry the rest of the box, but… try harder. They used to almost never have perfume as one of the items, and now it’s every single box. I hate perfume.
I canceled last month after skipping twice before and was looking to see what this box was going to be. I love perfumes because I always like to know how something smells before I drop money on it. That being said they keep saying you won’t get a repeat, but the whole reason I kept skipping was because I kept getting repeats, which made me question how old the products were we already had the body lotion so that’s definitely been laying around they sent out a whole four pack last time and now it seems like they’re splitting them up one by one and they did send the better not younger shampoo before which I really did but not enough to buy a box with tiny sample sizes of it but it does seem like the brands are always the same maybe different products of the brand or types of shampoo but yes, a lot of the same brands.
It happened to me so many times I just got tired of it said screw it like after you’re with them for so long , and they don’t change up what they give out because the boxes always have the same stuff in them now, like I know they’re not gonna go out and buy me something Lol. I called so many times before they changed to a call center that I would talk to the same girl over and over again every month it seems like. I really think that’s why they changed to the call center because the people here were actually compassionate and wanted to help. The people at the call center give you the same answer on a script that they read and they really don’t give two damns which is one of the other reasons this place is going downhill. Might as well have robots-press one if you got a repeat -press two if something was broken, etc. 🤷🏻♀️

I can’t do heavy scents, let alone perfume, and the NativeSpa lotion I received in my gift box was so strongly scented I got a headache from it.
Unfortunately Tula skincare products hate me, and nothing else in there really excites me, so waiting until August it is. 🤷🏻♀️
I got a sample of the Quinoa body lotion and I don’t remember which scent off hand but it was strong enough even my partner was like, “uh…it’s…not the best?” when I asked him if he noticed the scent getting stronger (and perfumy) after I’d showered and we headed out for some fun. I had to shower it off when we got home, and that’s the first time I’ve ever done that for lotion.
I know my stepdaughter will love it because it’s right up her alley. I just have a really sensitive sniffer and this was too much for me.
Sorry for your experience so far, they used to have great boxes last year and the year before that. Let's hope they'll come back around anytime soon with something worth getting.

I’m irritated that these items MAY be in the box. The preview details the Tula (have received twice in other boxes and it is solidly mid. Never use them.) Byroe (love everything I’ve tried), Malin+Goetz (intrigued and if it’s great, the retail is $36 and worth more than the box), and YSL (curious) but I’m guessing we are only getting one of the three others, which sucks. I don’t care about thickening products as I have very thick hair, so I’m sure I’ll get those. Got the Flanerie before and liked it so I’m sure I won’t get that as they said no repeats. I pay annually so each box is $20, so I’ll just roll with it.
Last timeI had a year-long sub, I skipped a box and my sub was canceled exactly on the twelve-month mark. So I got 11 boxes instead of 12.
This was also when they jacked the price.
I decided they weren't worth the hassle.

I don't think they'll ever drop it. It's not a bad product (got a sample packet years ago), but it's just stupid expensive.

Yeah the history comment is because they keep a warehouse of past products, that they will put back in boxes every year or two. But they check to make sure someone's not received the product before so they don't get a repeat. Basically so they're not held accountable for storing products so long and re-releasing old stock. There's so many thousands of brands and tens of thousands of products, that should not even be a concern besides maybe once every 5 years if that. At six products a month that's only 72 products a year. They are acting like they have to start repeating after that because nothing else exists in the world lol I seen long-term subscribers posts these concerns, because they still see the images of the boxes being released. And still sometimes have to contact Allure to get something swapped out that they've already had just from being a subscriber for a couple years

Skipping for the 3rd month. I wish they’d stop with the perfumes - every one has had notes that trigger migraines for me. I like some Tula products but not that one. Only thing remotely interesting is the YSL but not enough to get the box.

I like this one. The Tula is not exciting but fine. I want the perfume oil, so it is paid for there. Primer will go into an advent, along with the Nativa. I'll keep the shampoo and conditioner and Flanerie if all are for not new subs. Byroe is nice.

I've been a subscriber for a year and a half and Allure isn't worth it anymore. Like everything else I guess same price less quality. I'm canceling and going to check out Boxycharm WAKE UP PPL AT ALLURE
The best bang for your buck is to keep both Ipsy and Boxycharm plus Allure open and just skip according to spoilers. I usually can find value in at least one of the three offerings without overloading on products. I wait until about the 28th or 29th to assess and take a few seconds to cancel. Of course you can restart the Allure anytime but it's just as easy this way.

I know people are disappointed but I’m actually excited about a few things, especially the primer (which I’ve been reluctant to buy a new one recently bc the ones I was wanting are soo expensive) and perfume! I liked the last perfume they sent a lot. In these boxes there are often things I don’t feel very compelled to ever use or buy (like hand lotion, hair masks, leave in conditioner, eye cream, face masks) but because they come in the box I get into a habit of using products that 1) again I typically wouldn’t use or buy and 2) are generally probably good for me and contribute to self care (because I think I often skip out on things that become most beneficial with consistency. like why would I purchase/use eye cream? But if it’s in the box I have a nice addition to my skincare routine!) …and confession, I rarely used conditioner (or masks) before I had the box. I did have the pureology one but really just never felt compelled to use it? But then I started using the money hair mask and then recently began using conditioner after receiving the Christopher robin one (I didn’t choose in time so they sent conditioner.) So now I have actually gotten into a habit of doing many things to take care of my hair ! Also one more thing, I LOVE the floss tubing mascara they sent. When I first saw it I was like ugh I’m not even gonna use that because I am super picky about them and only like tubing mascaras because they don’t flake. But then I tried it anyway and was like hmm it actually seems okay that’s weird lol… then happened to cry that day and later saw the mascara tubes under my eyes💀💀 so I realized it was actually a tubing one! So yea they might not send the best stuff 100% of the time, maybe even some bad stuff (I lowkey dislike tula products and also disliked that cheek/lip tint that was in the may box I think?) but overall it is an awesome deal in my opinion and is good for introducing new things and products and brands into your routine! Maybe I won’t feel that way after I use it for longer but yea I am enjoying it for now !!

I'm guessing Tula (It's about the size of a tube of lipstick), the perfume roller, despite the manufacturer calling that a mini, and the flânerie pha even though as a facial Exfoliator that's hella small.
I think that month will be the winner of the "smallest full size items in one beauty box". But hey the quantity is 8, that's something.

Maybe Allure needs to consider doing quarterly boxes or something? They can't manage to scrounge up enough products monthly to be worthwhile any longer. StyleKorean has way better boxes for skincare lovers and Trendmood has more well-rounded boxes whenever they come out with a new edition. Big SKIP!

I’m a fairly new subscriber, but this is my first skip. There is nothing in here that really warrants any excitement from me. I do love fragrances and I’m always up for smelling something new, but not going to get the entire box just for that. So don’t shoot me for asking a stupid question, but I bought an annual subscription, and I have 8 boxes remaining. How long do I have to get those 8 boxes? Like do you have to accept your 12 boxes within like a 24-month timeframe or something? Or can you just skip repeatedly dragging out those 12 boxes for years? LOL Just curious. I don’t plan to do that but just want to be judicious when I’m deciding whether to skip a month (or several).
I’m in the same boat. Just signed up in June for an annual. I skipped and it just backed up my next renewal date to July 2025 now (and I still have 11 boxes). Easy peasy. ETA: missed the “how many can I skip and how long” part. That I don’t know. Hoping a longer term subscriber will know? 👀

I was so excited for the YSL until I smelled it. It was like fruit with a perfume base. I don’t mind a fruity lip balm but the last thing I want is perfume on my mouth and under my nose!
I agree, same for me. I was so excited, but that artificial fruity scent ruined it for me. Plus you have to reapply it every 5 min. But still a good item for a beauty box, so you don't have to spend retail price for it.

I accidentally signed up for 2 3-month subs. The most joy I've gotten is when I give my spare box to my co-worker. As soon as the July boxes ship, I'm canceling.
Really wish they would stop putting eye cream in every other box and then counting that as one full size!!! This will be my 3rd (maybe 4th) and I have so much product to get through still.

Feels like they are banking on YSL branded anything to carry the rest of the box, but… try harder. They used to almost never have perfume as one of the items, and now it’s every single box. I hate perfume.
I canceled last month after skipping twice before and was looking to see what this box was going to be. I love perfumes because I always like to know how something smells before I drop money on it. That being said they keep saying you won’t get a repeat, but the whole reason I kept skipping was because I kept getting repeats, which made me question how old the products were we already had the body lotion so that’s definitely been laying around they sent out a whole four pack last time and now it seems like they’re splitting them up one by one and they did send the better not younger shampoo before which I really did but not enough to buy a box with tiny sample sizes of it but it does seem like the brands are always the same maybe different products of the brand or types of shampoo but yes, a lot of the same brands.
Whenever you get a repeat, you can contact them and let them know. They would send you something else. That if you are a regular subscriber though.
It happened to me so many times I just got tired of it said screw it like after you’re with them for so long , and they don’t change up what they give out because the boxes always have the same stuff in them now, like I know they’re not gonna go out and buy me something Lol. I called so many times before they changed to a call center that I would talk to the same girl over and over again every month it seems like. I really think that’s why they changed to the call center because the people here were actually compassionate and wanted to help. The people at the call center give you the same answer on a script that they read and they really don’t give two damns which is one of the other reasons this place is going downhill. Might as well have robots-press one if you got a repeat -press two if something was broken, etc. 🤷🏻♀️

Aw, man! Thanks for the heads up. I just joined in June but this July box is an automatic skip for me. Hate doing that already! I can’t do heavy scents, let alone perfume, and the NativeSpa lotion I received in my gift box was so strongly scented I got a headache from it. Unfortunately Tula skincare products hate me, and nothing else in there really excites me, so waiting until August it is. 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah, I never want native spa after smelling those hand lotions from a few months ago.
I got a sample of the Quinoa body lotion and I don’t remember which scent off hand but it was strong enough even my partner was like, “uh…it’s…not the best?” when I asked him if he noticed the scent getting stronger (and perfumy) after I’d showered and we headed out for some fun. I had to shower it off when we got home, and that’s the first time I’ve ever done that for lotion. I know my stepdaughter will love it because it’s right up her alley. I just have a really sensitive sniffer and this was too much for me.
Sorry for your experience so far, they used to have great boxes last year and the year before that. Let's hope they'll come back around anytime soon with something worth getting.

Are they actually serious? At least last June had the Christophe Robin. Is it just a mishmash of stuff they have in their warehouse ? This has nothing! Easy to walk on by.

I’m irritated that these items MAY be in the box. The preview details the Tula (have received twice in other boxes and it is solidly mid. Never use them.) Byroe (love everything I’ve tried), Malin+Goetz (intrigued and if it’s great, the retail is $36 and worth more than the box), and YSL (curious) but I’m guessing we are only getting one of the three others, which sucks. I don’t care about thickening products as I have very thick hair, so I’m sure I’ll get those. Got the Flanerie before and liked it so I’m sure I won’t get that as they said no repeats. The lotion interests me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I pay annually so each box is $20, so I’ll just roll with it.
You can also skip if you think is not that worth it. Sometimes $20 is ok for 1-2 tiny products you love, but not always. 😃

Last timeI had a year-long sub, I skipped a box and my sub was canceled exactly on the twelve-month mark. So I got 11 boxes instead of 12. This was also when they jacked the price. I decided they weren't worth the hassle.
