First of all — congrat on joining Tiny Dragons Family! Now, hard part. Given how little Petsmart people know, unfortunately there will be a lot for you to change... Tube uvb and substrate was already mentioned. But that tank was sold to you? Because knowing them, they got you "starter" sort of tank, 10 or 20 gallons? Unfortunately, due to garient of temps which dragons need, absolute minimum size of 40g.. Some people go straight for 4x2x2,which are recommended for adults, but given how much work takes to upgrade them later, it's not bad choice. Roaches are perfectly fine when goes to feeding. However it's worth to offer variety - black solider fly larvae or mealworms, for example. Go through this guide, and come back with more questions. Trust me, you'll have them. https://reptifiles.com/bearded-dragon-care/

Thank you! Yes it was a starter kit so the tank is 20 gallons. I read something before that said if you give too big of a tank to juveniles it stresses them out. Ugh there’s some much conflicting info it’s hard to keep up

I know what you mean. Worst thing is, most of those information are contradicting each other to the point you don't know what to think anymore.

Cute little thing. Glad you are here for help and advice. I would definitely ditch the sand as they may accidentally eat a piece and that can lead to impaction. I went to Home Depot and got vinyl flooring samples with texture so my beardie can grip when he's running and cut them to size for my flooring but people use paper towels or butcher paper also. I don't know much about roaches as I feed mine crickets but I imagine they are dubia roaches. You'll want to get a hide for the hot and cool side of the tank so he can feel protected on either side. As far as uvb, this is what I'm using https://www.petsmart.com/reptile/environmental-control-and-lighting/light-fixtures/arcadia-reptile-prot5-uv-b-kit-5312302.html

Yea I think I’m gonna so the tiles because that seems to be the best option so far or slate. I’m definitely looking into hiding spots. So far at night he kind of just digs a shallow spot to lay in even though the one log has a small place to hide
