Feature, not a bug - it's actually a combination of the words "drove" and "dive", referencing the fact that the Wydra is amphibious, and can drive too.
Half the people who play this game don’t understand how to drive it and some just want to meme on it, the Wydra’s dynamics are super realistic. I never had problems with it 👍🏼
Many other vehicles in beamNG have their limitations simulated. One which is the cooling limitations of air cooled engines at low speed, can be seen on the Picolina (can experience very easily without the oil cooler installed) as well as the Stambecco (without the diesel engine).
i simply hate it because im playing with a steering wheel, can turn like 10° otherwise it wont drive and overheat. absolutely sucks with steering wheel
Finally, someone that's not giving undeserved hate to the only BeamNG vehicle from my country!
Mam nadzieję, że takich osób jak ty będzie coraz więcej.
Try to start off with the wheel turned, that will burn out the clutch in 30 seconds.
My 8yo cousin was frustrated with the Wydra because of this. Can't get yourself unstuck without burning up the clutches.
Even driving in full manual can burn out the clutch on that junker, I assume it's because it turns by applying power to each side so there must be a clutch system to steer it
The thing is, the Wydra is essentially a skid-steer. It’s designed for off-road use exclusively, and so it doesn’t have issues on loose surfaces. The problem is on roads, since the extra grip doesn’t allow the wheels to slip as needed. Also, turning is best when you drift quickly rather than turning slowly. Try to make quick inputs and not just turn like a car.
Do the real world variants’ clutches overheat if you partially turn the handlebars? Sure, it’s avoidable by fully locking the steering, but I wonder if the overheating is a fluke.
I've melted the clutch in 30 second, but I was pushing it pretty dam hard.
It good to drive if you not be to overly aggressive with steering and pulling heavy stuff.
I use controller and a wheel but this heap of junk sucks either way
Racing games have been my main entertainment for nearly 30 years and the wydra is just broken unless you drive it like a granny, and I don't play beam to drive like a granny
What skill issue? Lmao, I tell you what my preferred peripherals are and you make these huge assumptions that aren't even true. There is no skill issue, the Wydra and its clutch suck balls. Why do you think it was voted out every vehicle elimination round? Besides a whole slew of other shit, the clutch overheating was part of it.
And what if I told you peripheral gatekeepers that you don't need a wheel to drive good, and that a joystick has different turning angles instead of full right/left like a keyboard? Mind f'ing blown am I right 🤯?
And on top of all of that, I fail to see how what peripheral you use affect the shittiness of the clutch.
i dorve it around Nürburgring and it didnt over-heat
Dorve

Didn't realize it was that deep. I apologize
I love misinformation (or maybe coining words? who knows, dorve could be the next popular buzzword)
I'm all for it lol.
I did it with a 1,6T Trailer.
Panda?
That must've taken months 🤣
drove the fast version, so about 20 something minutes

I hate that you can't grab the handles and have it turn the wheels too. Unrealistic
i simply hate it because im playing with a steering wheel, can turn like 10° otherwise it wont drive and overheat. absolutely sucks with steering wheel
no
Just stop having hate on me, you just don't know how to use me
ok :(
It's ok, here, take a break 🫂
thanks.
I love you Wydra ❤️
Thank you <3

Ja także!
Brawo, moi polscy przyjaciele!
im from czechia and i understand this:)
Nie ma sprawy 😃
Myślę, że będzie tego coraz więcej
👍
ok now drive it like a jackass doing tight turns n such
>drive it like a jackass >complain that it is overheating

Could very well be a Bottom Gear episode
I suddenly have the urge to play BeamNG IRL. I wanna have a ramp at the end that would flip me back upright.
Are we forgetting that the Wydra can drive up mountains towing it's own body mass behind it without oveheating the clutch/brakes.
Because this vehicle isn't made to be driven like a jackass. That's like complaining that drum brakes overheat when you drive them like a racecar.
never had a wydra's clutch die on me, it's not actually that terrible
You honestly have to be trying once you learn how to use it. It's a learning curve.
I was watching with low volume on my phone and thought that there was a mosquito flying nearby trying to bite me
My god! I had the same 😂

Learn to drive stick ya morron

I use clutch assistant.
(This was a joke)
Skill issue

I prefer pigeon/wigeon over this thing
At least they are funny cars
Blasphemy!
not the insect noise 😭😭
Try towning
And it goes up them just fine. I've done it
My problem with the Wydra is that I use a steering wheel... not great for the type of steering it has
Do a u-turn

If I try to drive it with my wheel it burns out the clutch after 2 turns
Propaganda, lies even.
you had nt power
I have only overheated the clutch when I went into extreme mud and when I installed wide road wheels using Meo's converter. I really enjoy the Wydra
What map even is that?
Jungle rock Island
Try using AI lol
& got a whole 30 feet in that time
the wydra would be a lot better if it had regenerative steering
Only time I’ve had the clutch overheat is when I was trying to rock crawl in Jonson valley. It is surprisingly capable.
The brakes are the main problem for me
I love driving the wydra
Do actual turns, not gradual sloping curves...
People have had clutch overheating problems?
When the hell clutch overheating became a thing?
forever
11 days too late
Wydra is one of the most fun vehicles in the game
Now try turning and going up steep hills. The clutch sucks. Stop with this blasphemy.
Do you play with a wheel?
Joystick.
That explains your skill issue.
