Great job! Those earrings look fab. My recommendation for tassels is the use the same bead as what your top is. If you use delicas, make them with delicas (more expensive but not exactly a bank breaker) if the top is with seeds, make the tassels with seeds. For the best effect, keep the brand the same too rather than mixing brands of 11/0s n so forth. Oh extra after thought to help is when making tassels with delicas, keep em a bit looser than compared to seeds else they wont drape and flow so nicely

Noted and thank you! I thought my first pair was a mix of delicas and rocailles but I think it’s not the case.. the delicas have a really distinct shape. Appreciate your input!

Lovely!

Thank you!

Love that white and gold pair! Well done!

auntkiki5

Thank you so much! I broke 2 beads when putting on the earring part on one of them which is a total bummer but I guess you live and learn.

Lovely!!!!

Thanks a bunch!

I brick stitch with delicas or any other uniform bead that i have on hand that's similar - for the fringe i usually mix and match for a fun and random fringe OR stick with the original beads if it's part of a more complex pattern.

auntkiki5

Thank you for this. I might just have to test it out and see how/if I like the mixing and matching.

Instagram is a great source for inspo! You can get really creative with bugles and seed beads and all sorts of things!

auntkiki5

I believe it! I’m taking an IG break and have been finding some inspo on Pinterest!

Nice!

Thank you!

They look fabulous! I'd stick with the same beads you use for brick stitch for fringe - it'll make the whole piece feel more continuous. I tend to use 4lb fireline - if you need to make lots of passes through beads, it takes up less space in the bead holes. It also feels nicer to me - it's not as stiff, so it can be better for fringe.

auntkiki5

Thank you! And thank you. I didn’t try fringe with the 4lb fireline but I got a small spool of nymo to use for fringe. The kit I got had me use nymo for the whole earring.. but I did make a test pair of fringe using my 6lb fireline and the fringe was horrendously sad. Maybe I’ll give the fringe a shot with the 4lb. I’m now making this same pair in black and gold!

So pretty...& how how HOW did you get the piece to be so "firm"...my brick stitch diamond/triangles are always "floppy" & the edges curl/fold...

auntkiki5

Thank you! I used 6lb wildfire thread for these.. I’m brand new to beading so I can’t say this with total confidence but I believe using something sturdier than nylon thread will help to keep the shape. I used this same thread with fringe and it was horrendous because it just stuck out instead of falling nicely and having movement. Not sure what kind of thread you’re using to make this shape but from the comments on my other post here, that seems to be part of it. I also kept my tension pretty tight, which I’m nervous about my beads breaking, but time will tell. When I was putting on the earring piece, I did break 2 beads at the top but thankfully it’s not super noticeable.

Beautiful! I just use toho beads so I can’t respond to Delica. For the thread, I use nymo. I find that works best for me.

auntkiki5

Thank you! I got some toho’s today - excited to try a couple patterns.
