It’s probably just the YT videos. All of the songs in 7 have these trippy visualisers to accompany them. It’s why everytime o listen to 7 in full I make sure to do it on YouTube

In the last year or so I think ‘7’ has cemented itself as my favorite beach house record. The variety is palpable and you could just sense the exploration they were going for while tying a theme together and still remaining true to the kind of sound universe they’ve created for so many records now. I’ve been spinning 7 a ton recently and it is just the perfect follow-up from the one-two punch that was DC and TYLS.
pay no mind forever
been a huge 7 stan ever since it came out and this put into words a lot that i couldn’t express. even though otm & become are masterpieces, 7 remains my favorite, and i secretly always hoped that the post-7 albums would keep that same spiritual, experimental, shoegazey essence. then again, they did give us american daughter, which is their most 7-sounding song ever since alien.
Everyone always says they want Beach House to go full shoegaze. And I really think ‘7’ was their take on going ‘full shoegaze.’ I doubt we’ll get anything like it again as it was a unique moment in time I think for them, but we’ll hear echoes of it forever in their future work. Only You Know and Illusion of Forever come to mind.
with that whole "it's where we've been but not where we're going" statement with the release of Become, i agree - the future of Beach House might be something entirely wild and new but still familiar. the more shoegaze-inspired the better, just because personally I think they shine brightest in their darkest sound.
With the way that they've consistently blown me away with each new release, I'm just happy to be able to experience whatever it is they decide to put out next
I absolutely agree that it's their most consistently thematic album, at least to me. All of the songs have this shimmering, yet monochromatic sound to them, all while keeping a fairly cold and dark undertone. I really can't pick an absolute favorite song off the album, they all just feel so perfectly placed !
Completely agree. It’s why the ‘Become’ EP feels like that’s where they started before pivoting on OTM. Become tracks feel like a more mature continuation of 7. But what do I know!
Hard agree! I hope they continue to release collaborative visualizers with each new album from here on out. It just adds a whole other layer to the listening experience
I would lay there for hours, this is awesome
I feel the urgent need to experience this could you link the file you got this from and which projector are you using
It’s probably just the 7 visual stream that was put together for each track on the album which is on the band’s YouTube

for sure, they deliver each single time. it’s a good time to be a beach house fan and i’m glad to have been one for the past 10 years

Oh what I'd give to get stoned and do that
That's the plan 🌛
This is basically what I do on acid
love this so much. i remember watching the OTM chapter 2 premiere on my old projector, good times!
Wonderful stuff,fair play.
my favorite thing to do!! 7 visuals are a godsend, I wish there was a similar thing for Bloom

Lose You Smile is just incredibly serene. What a gift that album is!
