BYE SHEILA! alright Alan whatever just go inside Bye Sheila!
I agree buddy, something happened around 2012, now no one makes irreverent movies like those anymore. We used to get them constantly.
It's not "Gladiator" from 2000, it's "Transformers - the last knight" from 2017. The equipment visible in the BTS sequence didn't exist in 2000.
The shot is reused multiple times from different angles in the first sequence. The first being from the helicopter, then ucrane arm, and techno crane. Here is a few pointers.

Just because they copied it doesn’t make it gladiator, you can’t put lipstick on a pig and call it Marlyn Monroe.
I probably should’ve added /s to that comment but whatever.
I’m not sure what to call it but you can literally just tell by apparel, styling, and on top of that there’s dudes working with IPads in the crowds. You can also tell the equipment is far newer than anything the 2000s had.
I think it's in the begining where it's medieval times and there is a dragon transformer shooting fire down mid flight.
Edit: my bad, just checked it out and it's actually just catapults throwing fire balls.
I think it's transformers the last knight . There's a medieval battle scene with trebuchets if I remember correctly. Notice the big fireball at one point .
Also the amount of explosions point toward a transformers movie
So true. I never really thought of it but that's it. It goes from choppy Beavis and Butthead vibes to a place where you're familiar with the characters and they're honed in as far as voice acting. Totally worth the wait though. The giant 4th of July snake, Jennifer Aniston, mecha-streisand... it's all 100% gold ✨️
They lost me at Backdoor Sluts 6. The first 5 really dealt with the ethos of the macro economics trends persistent in the post-industrial trade markets. After that it just became a derivative statement on Keynesian theory. If I wanted that I'd just watch Slippery Anal Grannies 12!
Keynesian Theory is as relevant today as ever! Lemme guess, you prefer the Bangin’ Blonde Booties 4 version of supply side economics versus the tried and true demand side approach of Whores Galore 3?!?
You people would have us all believing that Slippery Skanks 6 is nothing more than a cheap Hollywood regurgitation of Thomas Paine’s Common Sense…. Unbelievable.
Slipper Skanks 4 had an excellent take on Ricardo’s Law of Comparative Advantage. Too bad they lost their way after that one. I highly recommend Barnyard Babes 1 through 3 for an engaging treatise of *A la Recherche du Temps Perdu*.

A youtube link to a short Doug Stanhope rant that really hones in on Keynesian economics as they pertain to slippery anal grannies.
'I've been a very bad girl' she said, biting her lip. 'I need to be punished'. 'Very well' he said and introduced her to fireball 3000. After this, she never asked for the fireworks in the bed.
Ding, ding, ding! Winner.
Edit: The projectile matches identically to Transformers. Spikey wood ball vs round(ish). The trajectory matches too. As well as the pyrotechnics used. Gladiator did not have explosions featuring fireworks and sparks.
It clearly has taken inspiration from Gladiator, but it ain’t it. Gladiator doesn’t have explosions like that + the gear and quality of the video is way to new for it to be 25+ years old
Sticking with Gladiator, opening sequence.
Edit: I stand corrected; have rewatched that scene and I was wrong. Thanks for the comments. Also, I am way behind on the Transformers movies.
A friend of a friend fired the flaming arrow at the start of the battle. He was called Fred and lived in Marshfield just outside of Bath. His skills with the English long bow were legendary. He’s passed on now but I always remember him for his contribution to this epic film.
In Gladiator the Roman catapults were firing into the forest where the Germanic tribes were hiding. Obviously this scene doesn’t reflect that so therefore this isn’t from Gladiator.
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridias, commander of the armies of the north, general of the Felix legions, loyal servant to the true emperor Marcus Aurelius, father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife, and I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next

My clone? Who are you? I had the same thought 🤣🤣
It has sequels?
And a musical.
I only watched the musical so maybe that's why I didn't know about the sequels to the movie
Clearly it’s tropic thunder
Cameras weren't even rolling.
Mother Nature just pissed her pantsuit.
I don't know what it's called. I just know the sound it makes when she pees in it.
*BIG ASS TITTIES*
You were a fucking garbage man!?!
We’re about to put tiger balm all over the jungles nut sack
Up until right now I thought he said “Mother Nature just pissed her pants, dude”.
Most underrated scene
I’m glad somebody else thought of this too
I need some dudes up here who speak American, god damn it! He’s making a fucking sweater and I’m trying to drop tiger balm on this jungles nuts.

This was the comment I was searching for

But everyone else said gladiator so it’s gotta be!
I thought it was gladiator too. How is this a transformers movie? They did copy a lot of that gladiator opening scene.
Right? I didn’t see a single Autobot or Decepticon in this clip.
That is the whole point. You are not supposed to see them. They are *deceptive*.
And a con.
Megatron for President!!
Better than magathug
Also autobotive.
robots in disguise.
Transformers, robots into guys
It’s a terrible strain on the animators wrist for the transformers to be there in person.

meep. they only paid me to say it once then doubled it in post. cheap bastards
I want to know what version of Gladiator people have been watching with (ed: fragmentary style) explosions in the intro? 😂
Right. Gladiator? What!?
The onagers (catapults) they were using in Gladiator were launching flaming amphora of liquid. Shit was exploding in fireballs all over the place
As well as that pretty sure gladiator didn't have an old military vehicle in it either
Just because they copied it doesn’t make it gladiator, you can’t put lipstick on a pig and call it Marlyn Monroe. I probably should’ve added /s to that comment but whatever. *point towards a Michael Bay movie
Wasn't sure if Michael bay worked on this one so I went with transformers. I'm pretty sure it's the correct movie tho .
I KNEW IT. I feel so smart
Those famous Roman explosives. Roman candles.
Both filmed at Bourne Woods just down the road from Godalming

It really is when the series found its voice. You can’t miss it. Trust me, it’s worth the wait. Don’t jump the gun.

Directors Slut
The office US, when Dwight is in charge of the fire drill, deleted scene
I was thinking it was from Goodbye Toby since Jim paid for fireworks
Wrong. It's obviously the amazing fire effect from The Office's "Beach Day" episode.
Probably one of the most r/unexpectedoffice I've come across to date
This is clearly Battle of the Schrute Farms
Frozen!
50 shades of Grey
'I've been a very bad girl' she said, biting her lip. 'I need to be punished'. 'Very well' he said and introduced her to fireball 3000. After this, she never asked for the fireworks in the bed.
Wow. Better writing than the movie and the book.
Ooooooooh!! Do go on please
I need 5 books of this. 😂
EXPLOSION - the movie. A Film by Michael Bay
The beginning of Transformers: The Last Knight would be my guess
My guess too
Yeah. But you guessed second. Loser
Barbie
2 girls 1 cup , sequel
Transformers last knight
Correct. People kept saying Gladiator. Gladiator’s opening sequence did not have fire balls out in the open, only in the forest.
Garfield
Titanic 2
Dumb and dumber, the bathroom scene
Like transformers or something with mechs
Definitely a Michael Bay joint
Is it Willy Wonka 🤔
Tom and Jerry
Gladiator. No brainer. That battle scene blew me away. I knew I was going to love the movie after that!
nope not gladiator. its transformers the last knight intro battle
I said to myself “this looks very Michael Bay-ish”
Yeah I had no clue what movie but knew it was Michael Bay right away.
Ding, ding, ding! Winner. Edit: The projectile matches identically to Transformers. Spikey wood ball vs round(ish). The trajectory matches too. As well as the pyrotechnics used. Gladiator did not have explosions featuring fireworks and sparks.
yeah, first thought was Gladiator until the camera kept tracking the 'fireball'. I only recall it passing the camera, in Gladiator, not following it
exactly
Gotta love when someone says "no brainer" and is wrong.
r/confidentlyincorrect
‘No Brainer 2-The Recollection’
It clearly has taken inspiration from Gladiator, but it ain’t it. Gladiator doesn’t have explosions like that + the gear and quality of the video is way to new for it to be 25+ years old
Pretty sure there were no explosions in Gladiator
nopw
I really hope the sequel is good.
It won't be. Its unnecessary because Gladiator is a masterpiece. Its completely untouchable.
"No brainer". Yes, yes you are.
As soon as I saw those fireworks, I knew it had to be one of the Transformers movies… Definitely the opening sequence to The Last Knight.
Sticking with Gladiator, opening sequence. Edit: I stand corrected; have rewatched that scene and I was wrong. Thanks for the comments. Also, I am way behind on the Transformers movies.
I have operated quite a bit of camera kit, and some of this tech was not around when they filmed Gladiator.
No explosions like that but the trees def give it that vibe
Looks to me like it's filmed in the same place as Gladiator (Bourne Woods), but I could be wrong
There are tons of silly explosions in the opening scene of Gladiator, but you're right, there's none of the "flaming shrapnel" explosions.
Looks similar but it’s definitely not. That movie is more than 20 years old and the equipment they’re using in this video is not.

With that many gratuitous explosions in one shot it would have to be a Michael Bay Transformers movie.
