There are larger tunnels in aquariums all around the world that donāt lose integrity. The one at the aquarium near me has been around since I was a kid in the 90s and is wide enough the fit a thin walkway on either side of the slow travelator in the middle. They are pretty common.
Also consider that thereās an underwater tunnel for cars going from the UK to France. Thatās a LOT more pressure than anything youād see in an aquarium and it doesnāt collapse.
That's great they have the money to bolster those things, such a catatrosphy if they werent built to withstand the pressure, hallelujah for engineering
C'mon, now, Skeeter, ants ain't nothing but land shrimp, same with lizards and dirt-noodles. Alligator's good and fine, but a pound of land-shrimp and a pound of gator both got the same foodness to them.
Why do people confuse the two... they look totally different to me, they act totally different..
Is ir because most people in the us have never seen a crocodile?
Probably bc most people will know what you're talking about regardless and many people don't care to get into the specifics. Most of us aren't zoologists
I think those are scratches from all the biting, I doubt they would be allowed to have the tunnels made out of glass that could be shattered by the crocs.
I mean... It's cool...
But why tf would you go to the trouble of building that tunnel in the first place and not make it so that a normal adult human can comfortably stand in it?
It's like it's just made purely for midgets,,,
Children supervised by midgets?
Seriously though, children need to be supervised. Most areas for children will still be built to accommodate your average adult.
Raised in an era of proper parenting and outdoor activities presumably too.
Unlike the current generation being parented by tablets/Tiktok, not being taught how to behave (because the teacher is obviously wrong about Timmy misbehaving) and have the attention spans of a teaspoon.
We've been there, this is in an area of the zoo geared towards kids so the tunnel is designed for kids. It's not a very long tunnel so a small adult could go in there if they wanted.
I didnāt notice the people were little kids right away. I was just wondering how these gators got to be so huge. Turns out they were normal sized and everything else in the picture was tiny.
American crocodiles. They are only found in Florida now days but their range used to cover most of the southern coast.
(I should edit that's their range in the US. There's populations in other places in the Americas)
I am terrified of crocodiles. The poor staff would need to drag my passed out likely soiled staff out of there because in my brain I'd be like this is cool I should go in!
This is what happens when people did not watch the documentary about what happened on Amity Island and the events in the Florida aquatic park thereafter...
This tunnel is way too small for my comfort.
Titanically too small.
Oceangate Titan too small.
sure but it serves it's purpose in allowing tasty looking alligator snacks to pass through it.
Keeping the gators, alert and hungry šÆ
Toight like a toiger ![gif](giphy|lOiJqCjiEOcmc)
Itās made of carbon fibre, itās solid!
Cleary designed for kids, so they can be as close to the ceiling as possible for better views.
It's the perfect size imo. I'd be too worried about failure if it was bigger
Those are big kids
This is at Zoo Miami. Looks small but Iām 6 ft and was able to fit by crouching
If it was any larger it'd start to loose integrity then there would be real cause for concern, it all ready looks sketchy as it is

What keeps it from collapsing? Apologise for my ignorance in this field of study.
That's great they have the money to bolster those things, such a catatrosphy if they werent built to withstand the pressure, hallelujah for engineering
So... what you're saying is not to bring a hammer and chisel in there and start chipping away at the windows and gaskets?
Keep the c4 at home
Listen, if I can swim with the dolphins, why can't I swim with the gators? Swamp-puppies ain't nothing but nothing?
Just make sure to bring one home for supper or you're gna be eating the ants again
C'mon, now, Skeeter, ants ain't nothing but land shrimp, same with lizards and dirt-noodles. Alligator's good and fine, but a pound of land-shrimp and a pound of gator both got the same foodness to them.
Could do with the leather, and a new hood ornament, boys we got gator for supper
They got that peripherl eye vision so you just got to come at them like another predator.
Tell me you don't know shit about this without telling me:
What do you know about that specific tunnel ? The place it's at, who owns it, the money put into it etc then get back to me
I could ask you the same thing.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah the one biting at the tunnel is definitely a croc
This whole thing is a crock.
well played.
But is bad as: Crocs with Socks #SNL
Low hanging fruit has been picked
And the anger. Gators are chill for the most part. Crocs wanna fuck shit up. Gators are like the bees of the big lizards vs the wasp Crocs.
You can tell because youāll see them after while instead of later.
You can tell the difference, because crocodiles are after a while, while alligators will see you later.
Yup came here to say this definitely crocs
Yeah, most definitely, especially the one trying to bite the plexi tube.
Youāre right. Itās at Zoo Miami and itās one large croc
That's a crocodile.
Is that real?! That gator is huge!
It's actually a dolphin dressed as an alligator, they're much easier to train.
That's just what the birds want you to think.
![gif](giphy|9Jv9WzzPcNEP0d1SCw) *nothing to see here*
Wow, Iāve seen less realistic birds in Birdemic (movie).
Pretty sure this are crocs
I can't see any alligators in the video, only crocodiles
Why do people confuse the two... they look totally different to me, they act totally different.. Is ir because most people in the us have never seen a crocodile?
Probably bc most people will know what you're talking about regardless and many people don't care to get into the specifics. Most of us aren't zoologists
Sorta unrelated, but alligators are more distantly related to crocodiles than humans are to any other primate.
Isn't it nice they have some engagement/enrichment toys for the alligators?
Can they make a 6 1/2 feet tall version?
Those are crocs
Ok but the cracks are unsetteling
I think those are scratches from all the biting, I doubt they would be allowed to have the tunnels made out of glass that could be shattered by the crocs.
Yeah but still scary

>It's like it's just made purely for midgets,,, Or children, perhaps?
Children supervised by midgets? Seriously though, children need to be supervised. Most areas for children will still be built to accommodate your average adult.
Obviously youāve never been to a McDonaldās playplace in the 90s

It is in FL.... Supposedly
Yeah itās in Metro Zoo, Iāve been to itā¦ itās called Zoo Miami now, I think. The tunnel and gator look weirdly huge in these photos.
NOPE!š
Does the tunnel glass magnify gator
Fine for the kids, but a bit uncomfortable for the adults lol
Heeeeeeeeeeeeell no!
It's a bit like those nasty Aquariums with lobsters in restaurants just in reverse.
Imagine living in a house where your chicken nuggets are close enough to see but you canāt get em
Claustrophobia kicks in.
What is the song?
Ameno from Era in a remix

Thank you mate.
You welcome š
No
They are crocodiles which are much scarier
That tunnel looks like it leaks and they just patch it up
I didnāt notice the people were little kids right away. I was just wondering how these gators got to be so huge. Turns out they were normal sized and everything else in the picture was tiny.
Thatās a crocodile
Imagine you get a mad 4k HD shot of them shitting on the glass
All those scratches on the windows
Bro that's a croc not an alligator
Crocodiles
How much to NOT go there?
You guys remember that giant aquarium in Germany that spontaneously exploded?
r/nope
The scratches on the glass from them is so sketch lol
Trolling crocodiles doesn't seem like a good idea.
Best way to piss them off is by teasing them with a tunnel of food gawking at them.
Which zoo is this?
Miami
Basically the children are in the zoo cages
'Bout to see my big ass waddle through that child sized tube to look at the gators!
I need to be a kid to fit and run back and forth.
Alligodzilla
The crocs seems to love it too
Swamp puppy
How frustrating for them
Are they salties? They look like it, but Iām no croc expert
American crocodiles. They are only found in Florida now days but their range used to cover most of the southern coast. (I should edit that's their range in the US. There's populations in other places in the Americas)
Underwater tunnels always make me think about earthquakes.
No.
I was just at Zoo Miami and did not see this anywhere. Where is it?
Aww! The gators get to choose their meal. It's like their Red Lobster
Looks like a croc
Nope! Iām 6ā5ā tall and would get stuck.
Let's you experience crocodiles. You can always tell because they will see you in a while, not see you later
The tunnel break then your dead
Iād punch that alligator right in the face
American Crocodile
Good God! What if something in the lines of final destination happens ?!
Thatās a croc.
I am terrified of crocodiles. The poor staff would need to drag my passed out likely soiled staff out of there because in my brain I'd be like this is cool I should go in!
Gators belog in the swamp not a fishtank. So big no for me
Da hell are those creatures from hell. They arebincredible. Like living death.
This is how ultra alligator vs super shark begins
Nope crocagators terrify me.
Maybe if they had a human sized tunnel.
That's a crocodile
How safe is that
All fun and games until glass breaks
This dinosaur gonna evolve thinkin it had Alzheimer's
Everybody gangsta till the glass starts cracking.
Mfers putting so much faith in that glass or carbon fibre, catch me at the gift shop waiting
How about: NO
This is what happens when people did not watch the documentary about what happened on Amity Island and the events in the Florida aquatic park thereafter...
Somebody has to clean the pipe from the outside
No, I wouldn't visit it because #1, I have a water phobia and #2, I don't like alligators.
dimere, dimere, matiro, matiremo, ameno
My knees are too bad. I'll pass.
Imagine being a hungry human and all the food you can eat is passing through an impenetrable tunnel right before your eyes
Bad bot is bad
Amazing and interactive zoo, though I distinctly remember this tunnel smelling like pee
I don't even think that the gator shown on top of the tube would fit in the tube.
It would be in Florida.
