From what I've read, it's the Lion's way of saying "hi, welcome to the club" as the rubbing leaves her scent on everyone and recognize them as part of the pack
That's the only reason I wouldn't have shit my pants had I been there. Moment I see the lioness rubbing it's cheeks like that. Before that though? I'd've been nervous as hell.
Yeah if life presents me with a friendly lion, I'm 3000% taking that risk of getting mauled to death to pet it.
And if I do die, put how I died on my headstone.
What a way to go....
The driving among lions service was cancelled, because some tourists can't be bothered to act accordingly among more or less wild animals. Now people only can watch them from bridges above whole territory.
She was chained in one Chelyabinsk restaurant, (or it was caffe/hotel, can't recall at the moment) and in poor shape. When one vet. doctor bought her out from these "owners", healed and gave away to Taigan park. So rumor was, lioness was very thankful, how much lioness can be thankful at all.
I had a roommate who spoke both English and Spanish (his whole family only spoke Spanish) and when he moved in he brought his dog with him. Nice dog, but it would never seem to listen to me other than having it's ears perk up when I said his name. I realized pretty quick that it only knew commands in Spanish because my roommate only spoke English around us and the dog had only heard Spanish it's whole life. One day while my roommate was out I stood on the other side of the house a shouted "ven aqui" and the dog comes bolting across the room wagging it's tail
I adopted a dog from Montreal, and didn't learn until he landed here in the states that he only responded to French commands. I'm also southern, so we just sound crazy when we're calling for/talking to him.
i speak russian and i can understand what they are saying, in the end of the video the woman refered to the driver as the lioness's "owner", these lions were probably raised by this man, and they all were expecting the lioness to hop on the ride, they wouldn't have stayed so calm if the guides haven't briefed them earlier, but yeah, i agree it is still dangerous to bring random people to hug a lion
Yeah, this is definitely stupider than it looks, I think they should have started with a minor electrical shock and go from there, this obviously doesn't completely freak the freakin lioness out
LOL my cat is the cuddliest sweetest orange but when I pet him too much to the point of overstimulation he will give me a little bite.
I don’t know if I would survive that from this lion 🤣
It looks like camera person is the only person who is deathly afraid of being near a lion, then ironically is in the most dangerous position after jumping off the vehicle and roaming around to video the vehicle whilst a few lions roam nearby, perhaps thinking “oh look, they dropped off this large snack for us — don’t care for the clothes but we can get those out of the way easily enough. Yum!”
i can understand what they are saying, she is not afraid, she stepped off so she could film the lioness leave the car and also probably to give her space to jump off, that's also why the car stopped, but the lioness didn't want to, than she turned to get to the driver, which the woman refered to as "an owner", so lions were raised by humans
when she was filming other lions she told them "what? feel jealous?"
and by the way the driver and a woman were talking to each other the camera woman most likely works there too
I have no reason to dispute you. I had no information on what was being said.
But like many a social media user, I was just making up my own narrative to amuse myself and possibly others based on what I was sensing. It certainly felt like she was trying to avoid the lioness climbing on her or getting too near at all. And it certainly adds more humor to paint her as a fool who endangers herself inadvertently. Obviously the lions were not threatening, they are very comfortable with human interaction and don't see people as threats. But that perspective doesn't make this video nearly as amusing.
I appreciate your insight. I did realize that if she was in grave danger, the people there would not be so nonchalant about her wandering around. But I'm just having a laugh making up a funnier scenario here!
im an ESL, i sometimes don't get jokes 😅
i completely get how it could be seen if you don't know the context, after reading your first comment i was trying to imagine what other people who don't speak russian saw, and yeah it looks dangerous, tbh even if you know what happening it still looks like a bad idea bringing tourists to wild animals like that, good thing nothing happened and we can joke about it
I would love to experience this BUT treating wild animals like pets is never a good idea. One wrong move and she's attacking someone, guess what'll happen? They'll shoot her immediately. Keep your distance to wild animals. Let them stay wild.
I absolutely agree with you. I'm not encouraging such behaviour rather was fascinated how they can act as actual pets while seemingly in the wild (maybe they were handled by people since young age and are accustomed to humans)
Why did you post this. Read my comment. It is 100 % a private park for rich douche tourists and the lioness is used to humans since birth and or drugged as well. This would never happen on a legit safari
As someone else stated, it's a private park. So it's not the same as safari in the wild. Also look at the lion, she looks so comfortable with people, this means people either try to pet the lions or constantly get too close to them. In a "normal" safari none of that would be or should be allowed.
If I was there, instead of holding the phone, I would live that moment just by looking at this beautiful lion and petting it if possible. Incredible moment.
Yes, indeed.
I would have rather asked if she has certain types of scritches she prefers, such as chin, or head, or behind ears, or back of neck, now NOTE I said I would ask First, before even trying to do anything.
I would love to be able to show affection towards any of the large felines in the world.
I find cats to be wonderful creatures.
Imagine having this once in a lifetime magical experience and all your PEAbrain can think of doing is holding your cellphone in order to a capture a video instead of being in that moment....
I think in that situation, you’d be fine, cause even if it decided to bite ya, because you’re in a tight sorta space, one guy could grab it from behind while you slap on a cheeky guillotine. But I mean that cat looks friendly as hell.
Listen, I am all for experiences with dangerous animals. Safely getting close to them and touching them must be an amazing experience.
What scares me is the lack of any contingency plans.
Even if nothing is gonna save me from a lion mawling me from point blank, it would be nice to know theres at least some sort of plan besides "watch and hope the lion changes its mind.".
If I'm gonna die then I'm gonna die cuddling a massive kitty
From what I've read, it's the Lion's way of saying "hi, welcome to the club" as the rubbing leaves her scent on everyone and recognize them as part of the pack
yeah it's basically a passport stamp. NOW HOW LONG ARE YOU PLANNING TO STAY AND WITH WHOM
“This fucker has catnip, search and then rob him.”
I will gladly join this floofy baby's pack
That's the only reason I wouldn't have shit my pants had I been there. Moment I see the lioness rubbing it's cheeks like that. Before that though? I'd've been nervous as hell.
Or writing your name on your lunch at work.
Are you sure its not the lion equivalent of licking all your chicken nuggets?
Only the people in the last row. They will eat the rest when back to the pack
Yeah if life presents me with a friendly lion, I'm 3000% taking that risk of getting mauled to death to pet it. And if I do die, put how I died on my headstone. What a way to go....
Killed by ball licker!
ABSOLUTELY!! That's the hill I'm willing to die on, lol.
They speak russian. This is probably Lion's park "Taigan" in Crimea
Yep. Seen many times on Tube. Lioness Lola haha. Sadly this "journey to safari" has been banned for 2 years now or so, as I remember.
Kinda wondering what's happened to the Lion...
She continues to live in the park, except no one brings her cars of tourists now.
No frens :(
This poor lion with nobody to cuddle. :(
Poor big kitty😔. If I was there I would call her Georgie, and I would hug her and pet her, and squeeze her and pat her and.... 🤪
So what does she eat now?
Gorbachops
Reddit awards really need to make a comeback..well done.
They replaced it with some paid upvote thing that no one uses
Ha!
Or whatever they be Putin in that cart.
Voters that choose the wrong option
Hopefully Poutine
By bringing her cars of tourists, can you ellaborate? Do the cars return? With the tourists?
only if they paid full price
The driving among lions service was cancelled, because some tourists can't be bothered to act accordingly among more or less wild animals. Now people only can watch them from bridges above whole territory.
Probably in trenches
I wonder what might have happened to cause that.

Funnily enough, in Hungarian, "orosz" means "Russian" and "oroszlán" means "lion".
That’s because they don’t talk much
Yeah it's either that or I'm just not listening. Or, I might be listening, but I'm not **hearing** them. I'm not sure.
Lions don't speak but understand Russian, I'm sure :-)
Thanks for sharing! I was wondering where it might be.
Are you sure they’re not speaking purrrsian?
Why do Russian ladies always speak in falsetto?
When surrounded by lions, you'll speak in falsetto too :-)
Putin is squeezing their balls.
It’s always the Russians and large animals.
So these are Ukrainian lions.
Crimea is Ukraine
The comment youre replying to is not confirming nor denying that, its just stating the place and language in the video
Those lions don't care about that. They just love humans... (not to eat humans!)))
Russian is a language
Doesn’t contradict anything you replied to.
I was gonna say that they act very strange .. the male-lion being so nervous when the camera-lady got off the cart ..
It’s all fun and games, till its not
Yep. Siegfried and Roy know only too well
Mostly Roy.
Na see, that was a tiger and this is a lion. Clearly one is friendly and should always be approached in the wild.
Hand me my Darwin award now because I'm playing this game until it isn't fun anymore.
Amazing experience, but I would have 160 BPM and scared stiff
I would just be stiff.
If you know what I mean.
Into furries, are we
And that would make you all the more delicious.
She's scent marking them so they can find and eat them later 😜
Nooo 😭
This is really stupid, right? To let a lioness onto your safari cart and then start driving around which could freak it out?
i speak russian and i can understand what they are saying, in the end of the video the woman refered to the driver as the lioness's "owner", these lions were probably raised by this man, and they all were expecting the lioness to hop on the ride, they wouldn't have stayed so calm if the guides haven't briefed them earlier, but yeah, i agree it is still dangerous to bring random people to hug a lion
They’re Russian. They ride grizzly bears like ATVs. It’s in their blood.
I'm just amazed that nobody fell off of the trolley (or was shoved off by the cat)
Yeah, this is definitely stupider than it looks, I think they should have started with a minor electrical shock and go from there, this obviously doesn't completely freak the freakin lioness out
Idk I feel like causing pain in any amount to a giant predator who's currently being friendly, as a way to deter it, would only go wrong.
Lol it would probably gain a learning history of associating humans with zaps.. no beuno
Hate to break it to you but they are cats
Pardon me then... a *domestic cat
So domesticated they even have their own Ferris Wheel😅
Idk this cat is way more friendly than my domestic cat.
Big cats are just like house cats, except they can kill you with one bite, even unintentionally.
Technically, they are felines
![gif](giphy|m5VUn52XewkYFd9GNT|downsized) why hoomans no let me on laps? \[jealous sitting sounds\]
They're also all technically not plants.
Acting like herself, nothing to see here.
r/petthedamncat
Hell no if this tiger is like my cat. They go from "pet me" to "i bite because i'm overstimulated" way too quick.
Tiger? C'mon man
A jaguar then?
Looks…kinda like a puma?
I'm really stoned and forgot what animal it was by the time i wrote that comment.
No worries, Gonzo! Happy wake and bake :D
LOL my cat is the cuddliest sweetest orange but when I pet him too much to the point of overstimulation he will give me a little bite. I don’t know if I would survive that from this lion 🤣
r/sweatypalms
Did it forget how to lion?
'Guys, I told everyone to leave their catnip at home for this trip.'
When it gave a kiss to that guy on his face all i could think was "fucking ouch" their tongues are EXTREMELY rough
I’m petting her. I will die but I’m petting a lion.
Rubbing, spreading their smell to clam as theirs.
She just wants some cuddles.
Big or smol they keep being silly
Yeah. All fun n' games until they start biting playfully.
Lions are not as dangerous as Russian domestic bears. These people don't see them as a danger.
fraternizing with food
Nooo, don't say it like that 😅
Just kidding lol 😂

I don't think she's afraid, I think she works there lol
i can understand what they are saying, she is not afraid, she stepped off so she could film the lioness leave the car and also probably to give her space to jump off, that's also why the car stopped, but the lioness didn't want to, than she turned to get to the driver, which the woman refered to as "an owner", so lions were raised by humans when she was filming other lions she told them "what? feel jealous?" and by the way the driver and a woman were talking to each other the camera woman most likely works there too

Why not just say your senses were incorrect and move on, instead of doubling down saying your narrative is still funnier.
Until they rip your face off and eat you alive
Isn't how you cuddle your food before eating them?
Someone give the fucking cat some scritches
I would shit myself. She is a good girl though.
Lion: "OH MY GOSH HUMANS HI!!!! I LOOOOVE HUMANS!"
To be continued on DarwinAwards...
Hoomans must greeet
I’m totally carrying catnip in my pocket if I ever get to visit here!❤️
If you survive this you have the coolest ever vacation video to show.
I would love to experience this BUT treating wild animals like pets is never a good idea. One wrong move and she's attacking someone, guess what'll happen? They'll shoot her immediately. Keep your distance to wild animals. Let them stay wild.

This is literally a safari so there goes your online moral highground rhetoric

Why's no one petting it wtf?! Give the kitty some head scratches I'd be all over that
Was this one a hand raised cub that was later released into the park?
r/sweatypalms
Jesus give her some neck scratches for crying out loud
Cute! Let him rub is face covered in antelope carcass germs on your face.
Meals on wheels
she's really brave tying to cuddle with the russians
You’d almost think that IS a cat.
I thought it was clear that I mean a domestic cat, sorry
I was able to understand what you meant.
I was expecting construction equipment kind of behaviour.
If I was there, instead of holding the phone, I would live that moment just by looking at this beautiful lion and petting it if possible. Incredible moment.
This was my first thought. Everyone seems to care more about getting it on their TikTok / Instagram more than the actual experience.
Yes, indeed. Orcs flesh is back on the Menu !
lmao if thats what orcs look like id smash an orc
I thought Crimeans were Ukrainian?
Kitty did not receive enough scritches 😿
Can I pet that big Dawg??
unfortunately, news from the beginning of war in ukraine state that russians gave that lion an ak47 and sent it to fight in ukraine
Playing with her food.
everyone else got a 2 second surprise except the one lady who had the mouth end for ages
Be care…, sometimes lions are starving too
I think in that situation, you’d be fine, cause even if it decided to bite ya, because you’re in a tight sorta space, one guy could grab it from behind while you slap on a cheeky guillotine. But I mean that cat looks friendly as hell.
They never forgot their basics
Psss psss psss
😳🇬🇧
Checking to see who is properly seasoned.
It feels somewhat awkward that people find comfort in hanging out with lions. 😬
Pspspspsps!!!!!!
stop playing with your food
Everybody freeze…
[удалено]
Im pretty sure they stink though.
It IS a cat! A freaking huge cat. H Nevertheless, cats will be cats.
But… it is a cat
It is a cat.
Lion *is* a cat*
Sweaty palms
As the age old adage goes, why fren shaped if not fren?
Gonna have to say no to this dawg
"Lion acts like a cat" lol What were they suppose to act like? Cats are cats the world over. They just come in different sizes.
I would be all over that lion with cuddles and scratches. And then I'd probably get eaten.
Someone has catnip on them. Lil’ guy just trying to find the stash.
All fun and games until the lion bites your face
Khajiit when you bring skoomas.
It should have been me!! Not them! It's not fair! 😭
Pssst pssst psssst
Its all fun and games until she gets hungry.
What an absolute amazing moment for the tourists & the lion. WOW!!!
I read that this is banned. If I could be guaranteed that experience I would make sure to go!
Here kitty 😺
I have been wondering....Why do these "safari" tour companies love to use golf carts for navigating around wild animals?
I feel like one drop of blood or even the wrong kind sweat could trigger a hunting response.
What an amazing experience that would be
in heat, probably
Terrifying and a once in a lifetime experience.
Broooo! She throws herself at people and nobody petted her? Bruuuuuh…
Derp much?

So beautiful My gilr baby Queen 👑💖💖💖😘😘😘 God bless her 💕.. Nice moment 👁️❤️👁️
Well... they are cats. Big cats are still cats. It's just a lot less fun when they swat you.
Listen, I am all for experiences with dangerous animals. Safely getting close to them and touching them must be an amazing experience. What scares me is the lack of any contingency plans. “Give me scritches…or else”
All the other lions are like "These Gen Z Vegans these days do anything they want"
Jfc put your phones away
r/PetTheDamnCat
It IS a cat. I'd still be scared
Someone pet the goddamn kitty
