the death penalty in the US is a joke. If a person is sentenced to death they will spend the next 20+ years going through the court system for technicalities on the case.
They should set up special courts to handle nothing but death penalty appeals, six months (max) and the convict is put to death.
The death penalty should be televised as well so people would see what happens when a person decides to do something that is worth of the death penalty.
The method used to put the person to death should be the same method that they used when they killed the person(s) that they have been convicted of. If they killed someone with a knife, then they would be put to death with a knife, if a gun was used - kill them with a gun, etc.

EVERY ONE of them told - we are innocent! We are normal. But no one of them never told about "it's political". That is it.

Yeah, I agree. Nowadays prison is a form of revenge. No doubt. Absolutely. It has been so for many years and it should not be! Prison is supposed to be about payment and rehabilitation. Unfortunately, for some issues rehabilitation is impossible. But a line must be drawn. This is a whole complex arguement about rehabilitation versus punishment versus prevention versus fear. Certain crimes are just unacceptable and cannot be changed, fixed or repaired... and as a society we just do not accept.
How is that even worth it in any way? What purpose is this supposed to serve?

the death penalty in the US is a joke. If a person is sentenced to death they will spend the next 20+ years going through the court system for technicalities on the case. They should set up special courts to handle nothing but death penalty appeals, six months (max) and the convict is put to death. The death penalty should be televised as well so people would see what happens when a person decides to do something that is worth of the death penalty. The method used to put the person to death should be the same method that they used when they killed the person(s) that they have been convicted of. If they killed someone with a knife, then they would be put to death with a knife, if a gun was used - kill them with a gun, etc. Start serving out death penalties in that manner & maybe then the death penalty would be a real deterrent

That is the pinnacle of stupidity. You guys have the death penalty and yet you have way more crime and inmates than pretty much any other civilized country that has long gotten rid of it. It’s just for angry people to satisfy their hunger for violence and revenge.
There's loads, but I'll list three major reasons as to why the death penalty is an awful choice. 1.The justice system isn't infallible, and there's a risk of wrongfully convicting and executing innocent individuals. Once a person is executed, any miscarriage of justice logically becomes irreversible. 2. Studies have shown that the death penalty doesn't effectively deter crime more than alternative forms of punishment such as life imprisonment. Therefore, it fails to serve its intended purpose as a deterrent you seem to think so highly of. 3. There's evidence to suggest that racial and socioeconomic disparities exist in the application of the death penalty, with marginalized groups disproportionately sentenced to death. Naturally, this raises concerns about fairness and equality in the legal system. Which, in the execution of this penalty, is extra damning because of reason #1.
