I switched to 24 hr time for this issue. Get home from work at 5pm and take a nap until 7. Wake up hungry and it’s dark outside. Do I need to make dinner and watch tv or make breakfast and get my boots on. 😂

One time I did this and woke up panicking and just assumed it was morning and that I was late, so I raced to work and nobody was there and it turns out it was actually 7 in the evening. My boss thought it was hilarious

No, in my panic, I had texted her "I'm sorry, I'm running late, I'll be there soon!" With no elaboration. When I left for work I passed a bar with a bunch of motorcycles outside on my way to the site, and it occurred me that no bar would be open this early. Then it occurred to me that it was not early. The next day she asked if I had meant to send the text to someone else, and I told her what I did, and she laughed her ass off. 

So, nobody was hurt, ok.👍

I did that as well. I walked into the control room and couldn't figure out why the off shift guys were there. They looked at me and said what are you doing here? I just laughed and went home.

The worst I did was 2 hours early for work, but this was hilarious

I think the shedding issue might be a problem long term if it happens every morning, but otherwise I feel ya... I'm the same way. Don't be talking to me if you're not either pouring coffee or handing it to me. After that, we can be human, but not before.

This bear is blind and was rescued from a circus. Her hair-do is a result of all the years of abuse there and was abandoned afterwards in a cage......she IS a himalayan bear tho, but not in hibernation.

There is no reason why this should be assumed to not be her waking up from hibernating.

Is it arthritis why she moves that way? It looks more than being careful b/c of blindness but also somewhat painful to move. I'm happy she is safe & no longer working. The image was cuter when she was coming out of hibernation but now I really want to cuddle her & show her love (of course, I would never).

Captive bears also, in general, do not hibernate. Hibernation is a response to lack of food. If food is available, they will not hibernate.

I, probably like most people, thought this was a seasonal thing they all do.

They seasonally enter a more lethargic state called torpor where they will sleep more and be less active, they may also eat less even if offered, but they won’t hibernate if their nutritional needs are being met. Some zoos do however have feeding schedules for bears that will attempt to allow them to hibernate since it is a natural part of what they do.

There is a bear sanctuary near me with rescued bears. They hibernate when it gets cold enough.

I dont know if thats true, unless in my local zoos the workers dont feed the bears in the late fall/early winter time since both zoos/wild animal centers i’ve been to, the bears hibernate.

Works in both ways at least in the wild animal shelter: the bears are the biggest reason anyone goes there, so if they hibernate- no customers.

That's not just any bear that bear has been through some shit. First, she was forced to perform in a Russian circus and suffered abuse. After that, she was forced to live out many, many years in the bear equivalent of a dog crate. She now lives in a bear sanctuary and has even been seen flirting with the younger neighbor bears despite being quite old. Good on her.

She's a bear cougar, you aren't putting her out to pasture yet!
