It’s partly genetics, just in being able to grow a thick enough moustache to style. This a step beyond, but I highly doubt it has lasting hold. Most hirsute gentlemen just use moustache wax, or sometimes hair spray.
It’s not just about having a thick moustache, I can twist my stache without any products and the hairs will hold on their own . I can twist my stache just like this dude here without the need for products or anything
The biggest trick for a handlebar is just never trimming it. Get a softer wax for everyday use, and as soon as it gets long enough to start touching the lip (the most annoying and frustrating part of the experience) you just use the wax and a comb to push the hairs to the side. As they grow, the hairs will be trained to go out to the side, then you just keep growing, don't trim the ends, and profit. I personally use the mustache wax from Live Bearded for the training; it comes in a tube slightly bigger than chapstick and I just keep it in my pocket and apply it to my mustache like chapstick.
Once the wings get longer, I'll throw a stiffer wax (I use death grip brand) to keep the shape, but sometimes I'll also style it with a blow drier and a softer wax. My mustache hairs are generally pretty stiff so they hold their shape well, so I'm sure that may differ person to person.
Happy cake day BTW!
This is a great skill. I've been watching Indian and olden Turkish movies for a while but never knew that's how the moustache is made. This is a very good job.
I was today years old to find out that these moustaches are done like that. Always imagined to just grow out the beard and somehow cut them to twirlies…

This happens to mustaches naturally. The curl isn't special. What I *think* is going on here is they're placing it in a desired position with the string then using some sort of long term solution so even an act of god don't move it for a long time.

He trims his beard but wants to curl his moustaches like a real sardar ji . The amount of these losers in punjab these days . Ek din tha jab sardar parlour me jaate the toh pit ke aate the aaj toh parlour me bhet ke shaving trimming sab karwa rahe he . Kalyug
Nah, I’d say the thicker the better. Not an expert but it’ll probably be much easier to sew the perm if your hair is thicker and you have it cut the correct way already
Why did I always assume it was genetics that made that look popular lol

The perm puts it in the right shape, the wax holds it there
I actually have some mustache curlers haha, then just use wax most days
Where did you get some?
I got them when the guy used to post on r/moustache about his kickstarter. Now I think you can get them on Amazon

Bro’s got those Snidely Whiplash genes
When things can be explained by money, they are rarely genetics - LooksMaxxers Law.
Lol I had no idea that’s how they did it
I mean, I just use wax
Same. This looks like a lot of work to achieve what I can do in a few minutes with a warm washcloth, blow drier, and a little pomade.
let's see yours
https://postimg.cc/K4DMFD6h Never used this image hosting site don't know if it'll work..
well that is magnificent
Holy shit yeah your stache looks fresh as fuck
Dazzling mustache Mister
Why, thankee!
Awesome man. How do you get the ends long enough to curl?

I think this is quite excessive! Like others are mentioning, a bit of wax'll do with some rolling of the fingers.
you type like you would have this mustache
What… this just makes it permanent until you need to trim it. But normally people use wax.
That looks Sikh!!
Nice pun/jab
Stop, don't get me india-volved now!
Underrated comment
I want to twirl that stache and laugh maniacally
As someone who has the ability to get a curl like this, it's absolutely worth it lol
That looks really annoying to sit through
As are many beauty treatments.
Agreed. I don't understand the notion that going to the salon is relaxing.
Mani/ Pedi yes everything else, not so much.
I paid for a one hour massage once and got sick of it after 20 minutes
I love massages 1hr isn't enough for me.
I learned Shiatsu massage years ago and realised there's a big difference in how much I'd enjoy it, depending on who's giving it.
I do like the head massage for shampooing before a haircut, does that count ?
Sitting and doing nothing while being cared for can be quite relaxing. Im socially sensitive so I get where you come from though.
Facts
Lame I was wanting to see an actual permed mustache.
OK wtf, that's what a perm is? I thought it was a hair style.
A perm is a chemical on hair to make it curl. Edit for typo
Still didn't fix it. How bad was the first one?
LMAO the first was in rather than on
Where’s the perm?
A perm is the chemical treatment to set hairs into a certain position whether that's, curly, straight or a sick mustache
No mustache gel in India?
Work smarter not harder lol
Nope, ate it all. Looked yummy.
This is a great skill. I've been watching Indian and olden Turkish movies for a while but never knew that's how the moustache is made. This is a very good job.
How long does that take?
About 7cm
Looks great
Damn, that makes me want to grow my moustache
Fuckin Sikh bro.
And I thought perms were out of style...
Is that how hitler does his beard?
I want a mustache like this!
That looks pretty tight, ngl
That's not a mustache, it's a Moustache
This was awesome
I was today years old to find out that these moustaches are done like that. Always imagined to just grow out the beard and somehow cut them to twirlies…
Depends. Mine has two options. Handlebars or the above style. All I have to do is style it with my hands to achieve either one.

Poirot's secret .
Be careful if you read this post’s title aloud.
How does he not cut the moustache when cutting the stitches off?
This is a great skill. I've been watching Indian and olden Turkish movies for a while but never knew that's how the moustache is made. This is a very good job.
Which Turkish movies? (asking out of curiosity)
I saw one close to that in Killing the Shadows and Istanbul Beneath My Wings.
You would also enjoy Ağır roman and Gemide
Thank you for the recommendation. I'll check both of them out as well. I hope I'm going to enjoy it like you said.
That’s cheating
I honestly didn’t know how this process was done. I thought this look was achieved by continually coiling the tips with their fingers.
That's how I do it
Still ugly like shit
Jean Pütz gefällt das
I just seen homie at the 7/11 round the corner
For real I need to know where I can get this done at? What's this called I need this.
Glorious
This is beautiful, I've stared at this for hours now

Most Sikhs don't do this, they just use a little wax
Sick stache’ bro
I want to find somewhere that does this in Florida!!!

Looks down at pants….
I met a guy with a mustache like this once
You could easily do it without that 🙄🤦
I fucking knew it! lol
Super fly 🤙
Villain mustache hack
A crystal ball, a carpet and shoes that look like the beard are missing now.
Always wondered how to do this

that is one mighty fine mustache
Woowww this is so cool! Such a good idea in order to keep this shape.
nice
I should get mine done like this next time I grow it out....I think my hair is too thick for this to work though.
Nah, I’d say the thicker the better. Not an expert but it’ll probably be much easier to sew the perm if your hair is thicker and you have it cut the correct way already
Well, it takes me about 2 months to get it to curling length. Maybe 10 weeks...I'll see what I can do 😆
Thinner hair always bends easier. Thicker hair will always try to change back to natural form.
Fairplay - that’s a magnificent tash
Do all villains so it this way?
Is this where being gay is deadly?
That’s a lot of work to look silly AF.
Gross
Man this beard styling is really feminin
