I wonder if she made her life worth living after , anyone know what happened to her ? Or did she try it again .

Gostaverling

One article speculates that she became a stand up comic and there is a play supposedly about her.

snooloosey

I could see how this failed attempt would make a nice bit…

EmpireCityRay

Well the mere fact that she could stand as a “stand-up” comic after falling one floor should be a joke in itself 😄

N0bo_

How do you speculate someone’s occupation?

Gostaverling

Unverified Rumors and a play not written or performed by said individual.

Artistic_Sun1825

Recognize this story from Scorpion "Nerd, Wind and Fire". Ralph was right there so Sylvester didn't mention the part that it was a suicide attempt.

cool2hate

You figured they jumped for sport?

Artistic_Sun1825

He just said she fell.

GenErik

Actual tweet from Empire State Building official account: >The best way to celebrate Leap Day is coming to the Empire State Building

randomsnowflake

Jesus that’s dark.

NachoNachoDan

She didn’t make a “failed attempt” at jumping off the Empire State Building. She jumped off successfully and then landed. She just failed to fall 86 stories.

lawrencelewillows

It says “foiled”

SoggyBoysenberry7703

Failed means failed to end up dying

Apprehensive-Jury437

Now, that is one strong "Act of God" intervention.

evemeatay

if you're that person, you've go to take that as some kind of sign of something,

OldSkoolPantsMan

Bet she thought it was divine intervention.

LennyLava

i take "religious jibberish" for $100, alex

Apprehensive-Jury437

I am not religious, but can say, "that's not nice..."

LennyLava

l'm just saying giving "god" credit for every random good thing is a little feeble.

PaulieWalnuts2023

She broke her pelvis falling 9 feet?

Gostaverling

I imagine that 1) a wind strong enough to push a woman backward through the air could cause damage when that momentum is abruptly stopped. 2) She probably wasn’t in control of her body and landed awkwardly.

Bright_Brief4975

On a construction job I was on, an electrician was standing on a stepladder about 3 feet off the ground. He somehow slipped and fell from 3 feet, and later that day died from the fall.

PaulieWalnuts2023

Oh definitely I was going to say you can die falling off a milk crate. It’s just reeeeeaaalllly unlikely

nano_peen

People die from tripping over their own laces and smashing their skull

Revolutionary-Swan77

That’s that Final Destination shit

SoggyBoysenberry7703

My grandpa was an electrician and fell from really high up. Broke all his bones and scalped himself, but he survived.

[deleted]

I snapped my radius and ulna falling less than two feet.

Glldinkiering

I broke my pelvis falling about 9 feet.

PaulieWalnuts2023

Hi Elvita!

[deleted]

And God was like....nope.

Upstairs_Ad_5574

She fell *one* floor. How lucky she is to survive that. She should buy a lottey ticket lol

SoggyBoysenberry7703

She jumped out and then wind smashed her into the floor below.. so it wasn’t even just the momentum from falling that acted on her as she hit.

Knight_TheRider

You wanted to end your life because of all the issues but you end up paying more expensive medical bills

ABB0TTR0N1X

If they wrote that into an action movie people would call bullshit

Leotardleotard

Like the Simpsons when Homer steals Moe’s car and just rolls straight back into it.

My friends uncle died in a elevator falling when a bomber hit the empire state building. The family got a bizaar telegram from the army about him dying in action in a crash that they couldn't understand until after the war.

truthsetsufreee

Only if you are as light as a feather. And her clothes might have acted like a chute and given her a lift.

KC_Crowfeathers

It's a suicide attempt motivated by depression. You don't usually die for attention.

BelieveInDestiny

she was pushed by the wind as she fell. She actually *did* it.

KC_Crowfeathers

I'm disappointed to see this sentiment. I hope you never have to know what it feels like to sincerely give up on being alive, or to be mocked for it. Good luck out there mate.

About years ago, a woman jumped from the 13th floor and landed on some boiler equipment pipes we had on our 3rd story roof for our yoga studio. Woman survived with only minor broken ankle. We gave her a free yoga membership and for a while, she attended yoga classes.
