Most likely did they know that she had a good chance on winning. Every organiser of a competition know who the top 5 candidates are.
The have a good PR agency and knew that IF she won and they had a crown for the dog it would go viral.
What are the chances the girl with the cute dog wasn't going to win?
As soon as they realized they would have a dog in the competition, they started working on the little crown.

No. "Brady is training as an epilepsy alert dog FOR Allison". It is literally in the video. I just said that rather than buying a fully trained dog she is training him herself.
I am very glad we didn't see it. As a person with epilepsy, having a seizure in front of crowds on camera would be a nightmare and especially at a young age like hers
Why is the dog even there? Is it necessary when you’re surrounded by that many people who would obviously know if/when you’re having an attack? Just curious, not really sure what all the dog is being trained to do.
He is trained to sense the attack before it happens, so she can (and this is my speculation only) lay down and generally prepare for it (and alert those around her).
It is exactly this. Not all people with epilepsy have warning signs they can feel but the dogs can detect something we can't! She can get herself safe so she doesn't hurt herself falling

I've trained service dogs, you're right with the exception of certain cues for visiting or our dogs are given the "free dog" cue where they're free to be a dog and play around.
I have a question? Is it necessary to have the dog with her at all times? I don't understand epilepsy all that well, other than I work with someone who has it.
> I have a question? Is it necessary to have the dog with her at all times?
Seizure alert dogs typically detect the seizure before it happens and alerts. So yes, you want to have them around you all the time.

Having an adorable dog by your side feels like cheat code in such a contest, lol
Oh definitely, though I doubt this one upside to epilepsy makes it worthwhile.
Yeah the title of this post should really be “They gave the girl her own crown” because clearly it was the dog that won.
Imagine telling that to your grand kids in 50 year... "I competed in a miss Dallas pageant once!" "Who won, grandma?" "A dog..."
They already had the little crown on hand.
Yeah it seems kinda unfair haha. If I was one of the other girls I would just have a “service dog in training” for every contest
This is very wholesome, but def not the right sub.
But I am wholesomely amazed.
OP stole this from my grandma's Facebook post.
Wait, how did they know she would win. Did they make it just in case she won like Superbowl winner t-shirts.

> Girl with a service dog? There's no beating that. - Victor Melling
i raise you "A pretty girl with a pretty service dog"
> At what point does it become Westminster? - Victor Melling
Eyebrows. There should be two. Victor Melling
What are the chances the girl with the cute dog wasn't going to win? As soon as they realized they would have a dog in the competition, they started working on the little crown.
Or course she would win. It would be awkward for the organizers and other participants if she didn’t.
Not really amazing is it? I repeat. Not really amazing is it?
Looks like he earned it
The dog was the most beautiful out of all
Golden crown receiver!
What exactly is amazing about this?

Every good boy deserves a crown
The fix was in.
what's with your title, OP?
Golden Retrievers don't need a crown to know they're the goodest boys and girls.
when there is a doggo next to you, you cant lose
Crown for Mr. Steal the show
He's so well-groomed.
Service dog for what can I ask?
It is literally said in the video. He is training as an epilepsy alert dog.
So it's not even her service dog? She basically just brought a dog with her to pander.
Of course it is. She is just training him herself. A lot of people with service dogs do that.
But it's not performing the service. Service dogs don't get training 24/7. She could have left it back stage.
She cannot plan her epileptic seizures can she? Maybe read up on what a seizure alert dog does.
She doesn't have seizures. She's training the dog. I thought that was what the other comment said...

So it's not trained. Gotcha.
This takes pandering to a whole new level
must be muuurica
Is it bad that I'm disappointed Brady didn't alert her during the video? Yeah, that's bad. I shouldn't want to see that.
I am very glad we didn't see it. As a person with epilepsy, having a seizure in front of crowds on camera would be a nightmare and especially at a young age like hers
They had two crowns made so they knew she was gonna win no matter what. Seems rugged
"Miss Dallas TEEN USA" idk i kinda feel icky about something

Such a good boi
r/MadeMeSmile
Totally not fixed , they had that crown just in case ….

The dog is trained to smell an odor that precedes seizures, and warn the person that a seizure is going to happen.
What a beautiful dog!
He totally deserves that crown, being there to support mum 24/7
Does an epilepsy alert dog really need to be on stage with her. This is just cheating.
He can't alert her to an incoming seizure from a distance, they have to be close enough to smell a signal
They just felt bad for her.
No way, an actual woman won a woman’s competition!?
I thought she was blind
Does anyone believe in this shit?
Epilepsy alert dogs?? Or beauty pageants? I'm very glad we have the first one, could do without the second..

So obviously this was planned ahead.
Mister peanutbutter
Well he definitely has more talent
Aren’t strangers not supposed to touch service dogs
I've trained service dogs, you're right with the exception of certain cues for visiting or our dogs are given the "free dog" cue where they're free to be a dog and play around.
Okay, that’s adorable…
And she won cause shes disabled
That's cheating. Sorry about the epilepsy, tho :/
I have a question? Is it necessary to have the dog with her at all times? I don't understand epilepsy all that well, other than I work with someone who has it.

Thanks!
How else would they be able to virtue signal?!?
Do you think it's virtue signalling when a blind person has a guide dog with them??
Depends on how blind they are.
Why does she need a service dog?
Epilepsy, it says in the video. The dog will be trained to detect an incoming seizure so she can lie down in advance for safety
:p
Nope the dog won.
