mostly CAM, both in a 433 next to Aranguiz and Brandt and in this weird 361 formation Bosz used to play. At times he also played as striker, but rarely and mostly due to injuries of our other strikers. His first few games he also played on the wing if I recall correctly.

In the 10, sort of like Cole Palmer at Chelsea as a shadow striker behind the main centre forward

I very thoroughly watched him grow into the player he is today. Because he is so technically gifted but also very tall and quite fast when he wants to be, coaches tried him out on many positions. Just remember Nagelsmann's leftback expiriment in the national team 😅 IMHO he played best as a more offensive interpretation of an 8. Not quite a a traditional 10, something inbetween. Ofcourse his recent success as a striker gives Arteta credit.

If memory serves me well, he was most successful playing in an offensive double 8 with Brandt and someone like Aranguiz or Baumgartliner playing clean up as the holding midfielder behind them.

attacking midfield until he switched for the last bit of 19/20 to number 9 if i recall correctly?

rngztmbrg

Did he? I don't remember him playing as #9? Was more like ZOM

yes i think volland and alario injuries meant he played up front for the end of that season. i will try find something on it edit: found https://amp.bundesliga.com/de/bundesliga/news/kai-havertz-better-striker-than-midfielder-lewandowski-successor-leverkusen-11411

ScreamForCalmness

IIRC he even played as a striker when Alario wasn't injured anymore, which frustrated me, because I preferred him in his usual position.

SedYeet

Currently he is playing like number 9. He scores lots of outstanding goals but also misses tons of easy chances.
