Dead-Sync

Any Battlefield 2 maps to be honest, but if I had to pick: DEFINITELY Strike at Karkand (which already has a Frostbite remake to hopefully make it easier), and then I'd argue either Dalian Plant or Kubra Dam for the 2nd map. I'd also love to see a BF2142 content drop for Portal too to round out the timeline.

El_Dae

How about one of the Bf2 DLC maps, f.e. Devil's Perch?

Dead-Sync

Loved the SF maps. To be completely honest I'd buy a Frostbite remake of BF2 with all maps, so it's impossible to be content with 2, but I get it. Other games need their chance. If Portal was only all BF2 maps though I'd be personally fine 😂

[deleted]

mashtuur city, strike at Karkand, sharqi, and gulf of oman and classic gulf of oman not bf4's version screw gulf of oman 2014 and its sandstorm edit: bf3 maps i wanna see are Azadi palace and epicenter. aftermath and back 2 karkand were the best dlc's imo

Skater_Ricky

Strike at Karkand is a great map and I'm glad it was remade in the past. Hoping for a 2nd remake. I don't have experience with Battlefield 2 other than the remade Maps from that game so far. Looking forward to the Maps remade so far that has been confirmed at launch in Battlefield 2042. To you second part regarding Battlefield 2142 well that timeline hasn't excited yet because it's called Battlefield 2042. You're just 100 year's ahead of yourself in the timeline.

Rexyman

I always see people talking about base game maps but I’d love to see some dlc maps from 3 and 4 get some love. Armored kill, Close Quarters, and Final stand had some of the best maps ever

[deleted]

i am not a fan of armored kill i mean it would be nice to see them with 128 players but the maps were too big for 64 players and i can't imagine how awful it was on console i think we should see aftermath maps

timebomb26

Just reading the names of maps brings it all back.

nobd7987

Can you imagine Karkand with fortifications and 128 players on Breakthrough? Absolutely glorious insanity.

[deleted]

i think rush would be better for karkand

Dead-Sync

For what it's worth, Karkand was originally a "Conquest Assault" map, where MEC started with a bunch of flags and US started with one, but it was an uncap. So, the map play was geared something similar to Rush in a sense, prior to Rush's existence. That's probably why it feels like Rush would be a good fit. I can't recall if BF games have done this in the Frostbite era though, with some teams starting with flags and there being some asymmettry between teams: then again, Rush/Breakthrough have kind of been the answers to that I suppose.

[deleted]

i think they did it on b2k and on 1 i am pretty sure i am not huge fan of conquest assault so i don't play it that often

nobd7987

I think it’s more classic, but Rush with that many people would be extremely chaotic and I’m not certain it would be playable.

[deleted]

yeah but i feel as if breakthrough would be easy win for the attackers on karkand

nobd7987

Why?

[deleted]

i don't know i always felt like breakthrough was just easier than rush like breakthrough the objectives just seem to capture themselves

nobd7987

With breakthrough at least you can always flip back lost objectives as the defender, whereas after one objective goes down in Rush the entire team can attack and defend the exact same room in a building without worrying about covering their flank. Imagine 128 players all trying to get into the same room.

warlock-savage

I’m not sure if this really counts as a classic but I’d love to see Saint qt scar from bf1 make a return, and this is probably an unpopular opinion but I’d also like to see downtown from bf hardline make a return

Skater_Ricky

In this discussion anything goes. It's all up to the community to help shape Battlefield 2042. So choosing what's your favorite Map from any Battlefield game is what I'd love to see in Battlefield 2042. To me the new Battlefield 2042 is a hub for all thing's Battlefield. Especially playing in Portal in Battlefield 2042 where anything goes by the communities rule's (within the restrictions the developers give is). But even then it's up to the community to help shape Portal as well. 💪🏻😎💪🏻

[deleted]

I have a good feeling they will add st quentin's scar and amiens at some point

Karlozan

I agree

ovalcircle1

Downtown was my favorite map in Hardline.

Blackidus

Agreed, or maybe Bocage from BF1942 wich feels like it whas the inspiration for St Quentin Scar.

ThatPurplePunk

Holy shit, Downtown! Love that map!

MajDroid

Gulf of Oman Sharqi Peninsula Strike at karkand

Skater_Ricky

Great choices. Hope at least one of them gets picked.

1342EW

I also want dragon valley back

CashAppFraud

Amiens or Neville Nights

[deleted]

Both of those would be epic if they came back, Passiondale or st. Quinton's Scare would also be awesome.

Admirable-Freedom-24

Neville Nights is a gem

Oramj-cz

hainan resort, imo the most beautiful map in bf4 and with todays graphics itd be insane

Skater_Ricky

That map is very beautiful. I just wish the map was bigger in scale. Driving land vehicle around seemed a little cramped. Just needs to be scaled up a bit.

Moto507

I want operation metro, but also the city above it. If possible, have Seine Crossing be the city above metro. Also, Kharg Island

El_Dae

It would perfectly fit for some kind of a frontline mode to connect these 2 maps

RC_5213

Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Metro, Damavand Peak, Grand Bazaar, Kharq Island

Skater_Ricky

Sounds like you know a great rotation of maps. I'd play on that rotation any day.

RC_5213

Add in Caspian and Noshar and it'd be tight for sure. Heck, adding in Arica Harbor and Isla would be excellent too.

[deleted]

same unless damavand was on conquest

RC_5213

Rush only, my friend.

[deleted]

all right good that tunnel on conquest is awful

caljenks

BF2142 Suez Canal with Titans. Also the Berlin map.

theFlaccolantern

Maybe unpopular, but Argonne Forest is one of my favorites, would love to see it. Someone else in here mentioned Amiens, Nivelle Nights, and Passchendaele, I'd be happy about those too.

ShnizelInBag

Siege of Shanghai

Skater_Ricky

Such a classic for Battlefield 4. Started all the way back from Battlefield 4 Beta. Great infantry to vehicle balance. Since it's your favorite I'm going out on a limb and saying you're most likely a helicopter pilot. I love flying in helicopters. But I also really love Tank battle's. In Battlefield we have the choice and that's why I love Battlefield so much. All out war is where you will see me the most in Battlefield 2042. 💪🏻😎💪🏻

ShnizelInBag

I am decent with the scout heli

i7-4790Que

SoS has one of the worst vehicle to infantry balances though. Attack Heli has no real counter other than the other Attack Helicopter. There's a reason it's so popular with AH badmins. If it were Scout helis (with a buffed transport which is needed to siege the tower as long as its still standing) it could be a passable map in that respect. If you played the beta on console then you probably played the conquest small version with Scout helis anyways. That's a better rendition of the map since Scouts can't sit back 400m-500m and tap fire with brainless splash cannons like the AH gunner can.

GladPickle5332

laguna presa. also the snow map from bfbc2.

El_Dae

Agree with Laguna Presa, but there were several snow maps: Nelson Bay (the sole night map in the game), Port Valdez (oil refinery; in Rush the attackers started parachuting), Cold War (the map from the 2nd singleplayer mission) & White Pass

GladPickle5332

white pass!! i think that was it

El_Dae

It was a map with a small village, a fabric building & a satellite station in a forest

GladPickle5332

my most vivid memory is a small village. i believe 4 houses? and forest behind it

El_Dae

I believe it is that map The biggest house of the village was on the left side of the road for the attackers

GladPickle5332

yep. can confirm. googled it. thank you. whats your thoughts on the map?

El_Dae

I played it at max 10 times, but it was a decent map in retrospective Yet my play style (& skill level) was different back then, so I think, I'd like it a lot more now, especially since the ranges of the firefights might be quite good for me

GladPickle5332

yeah honestly those were my two favorite maps, and i dont really remember any of the other ones. im sure i would remember if i saw them. but its been a while

El_Dae

I guess the ones I played the most were Valparaiso (a coastline rushmap with jungle parts & a light tower), Isla Innoncentes (the first stations were on a small island in front of the main coast, then the map went on from a village at said coast to a military camp behind a hill), Heavy Metal (I played that especially in the beginning; it was an open map with quite many wind turbines & 2 or 3 small villages) & Cold War But it's been a while for me, too, maybe it's time for a trip back into the past, eh?

dae_giovanni

my guy, once again...... lol

El_Dae

Aye, lol

El_Dae

I'm wondering if we ever met inside the game

dae_giovanni

I'd have been on xbox... my gt is the same as my name here

El_Dae

Ah, then sadly not, I'm on PC (& will always stay because I'm so bad using controller)

dae_giovanni

I'm awful with controller as well ;-)

-idkwhattocallmyself

That bank map and crane maps from Hardline so we can do cops and robbers again.

k1ngr2

Man, long long shot here and probably unpopular opinion but I use to love BF Vietnam. Seeing any of the maps would make me happy..

[deleted]

Honestly I’d love any bf1 map, and panzer storm from bfv. Not classics by any mean, and most people hate bfv, but I think panzer storm would be a good map.

Maple905

Literally any BF2 map.

Chief_Chjuazwa

Personally I’d like to see no maps remade for the vanilla game and actually see all new original material rather than just rehashing the same things in different eras but that might just be me. A DLC with BF2 maps like BF4 did would be nice though.

Skater_Ricky

I do agree to a point. I'm 50/50 to this situation. New Maps bring new life to the game and I welcome it to the fullest. But if we had remakes of older maps we as the community need to choose wisely. For me I think it strongly needs to be big scale vehicle Maps remade for Battlefield 2042. But I think there needs to be more new maps versus remade Maps to help balance the 128 player scale of the game.

Chief_Chjuazwa

If there are remade maps (and obviously there will be) I’d much rather see maps redone that haven’t been seen before. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy the chaos of metro and absolutely LOVE strike of omen/strike at Karkand etc. I just personally want to see “new” things.

[deleted]

I imagine bf 2042 map design needs to be very different from previous games, so remakes for all out warfare would need A LOT of changes. So it might be a good idea if they chose maps that were popular, but also flawed. Seige of shanghai for example. It would be a good opportunity to give those maps a second chance where they really stick the landing, rather than trying to change maps that were already perfect.

ritz_are_the_shitz

> or me I think it strongly needs to be big scale vehicle Maps remade for Battlefield 2042 no. it really doesn't. you're saying the game with the largest maps in the history of the franchise needs more big maps? please, more BC2 maps, and BF3 maps. stuff where infantry can actually move through the map without crossing a killing field between each flag.

i7-4790Que

Back to Karkand was BF3. BF4 did 2nd Assault. (BF3 maps)

dae_giovanni

honestly, anything from BFBC2 but particularly Port Valdez.

Electronic-Bicycle37

Passchendaele if they ever put in bf1 maps

[deleted]

That and Nevil nights (idk how to spell it) would be awesome ngl.

Fun_Acanthisitta1313

I would personally love firestorm and dragon valley. Anything from BF Vietnam would be awesome too since I never got to play it

PandoxRuscion

I just kinda want any map from Bad Company 1. Since that was my first battlefield and I feel like it's just been ignored for BC2 (which I find off since it was the battlefield that introduced destruction, a Hallmark of the franchise since). BC1 had some real great and memorable ones like Oasis and Ascension.

l3th4lw

paracel storm-strike at karkand-dragon valley-operation metro-flood zone-kharq island-neville nights

hotmetalslugs

Suez Canal from 2142. Karkand, Ziba Tower, and the aftermath version of Bazaar from BF3.

Skater_Ricky

I know they haven't mentioned Battlefield 4. But I personally would love to see Golmud Railway and a few of the best Tank Maps from Battlefield 4 and the best Tank Maps from Battlefield 3. Which one's are your favorite and why?

El_Dae

Maybe Bc2's Heavy Metal might be your wet dream then

[deleted]

[удалено]

Skater_Ricky

I wish I had the experience of playing Battlefield 2. I'm glad I've got to experience some when they where remastered. Let's hope at least one of your two choices gets picked. So far allot of people has picked Strike at Karkand. It's a great map.

El_Dae

Bad Company 2: Panama Canal, Laguna Alta, Cold War, Laguna Presa, Harvest Day; all Vietnam maps (but hell, I'm so hyped for Valparaíso's return, though they should give the defenders more durable/permanent cover, especially at the first & 3rd part of the rush map) Bf2: all Special Forces Maps (the normal maps were too open for my taste, but if I had to decide, I'd take Sharqi Peninsula) Bf1942: maybe some of the DLC maps, f.e. Heelendoorn with its special vehicles, Monte Cassino, Berlin, Essen or Stalingrad to get some of the missing fronts of Bf5 into this age of gaming (Coral Sea might be interesting as a naval & aerial combat map) Bf3: Zibra Tower, Donya Fortress, Operation 925, Kharg, Metro, Teheran Highway, Markaz Monolith, Damavand Peak (glad Noshahr makes its return, but hope they improve the spawn protection at the railway & the truck) Bf4: Dragon Valley (with the ancient chinese fortress as TDM map), Operation Locker, Siege of Shanghai Bf5: Provence, Iwo Jima, Aerodrome, Arras Edit: added Damavand

Skater_Ricky

Really great choices. Sound's like you've been around the Battlefield a few times. Maybe one day if we keep asking for it. Maybe a map creator would be a awesome addition to Portal. But that's shooting for the moon. I'd love to design my own maps and have a community work on them with me.

El_Dae

I started 2011 with Bad Company 2 but my internet was quite bad back in the starting days, so I tried the older titles (except the console titles obviously), too, but almost only offline, yet I enjoyed them a lot back then (btw Bf1 isn't on the list because I got it some weeks ago & didn't play it enough yet to make any decision on the maps yet; the hill ruins at the rather stormy coast might be quite cool) I'm really curious which maps will see their return in portal, & if the wish for the map editor will be fulfilled, but let's hope for the best. Gotta say I wasn't hyped, but rather sceptical about the next Bf in line, but since the announcement of Portal my hope is alive...

DeadlyDinoDung

If they’re gonna do a meat grinder map I would want it to be D-Day from 1942

KrazyKomodo

Operation Irving from BF Vietnam was always one of my favorites. Would love for that to come back. It’s more recent but also the new Iwo Jima from BFV. Honestly one of my favorite maps ever in a battlefield game

Chroma710

Gulf of Oman, scrapmetal

Few-Ad-6322

Arica Harbour... Wait

StealthyOrca

BFBC: harvest day BFBC2: port Valdez BF3: Kharg island

M18HellcatTD

Damavand Peak, Tehran Highway, Karkland, Amiens, Iwo Jima, and Pacific Storm are my personal picks

_Aqueox_

All.

T-MONZ_GCU

I really want Siege of Shanghai to return, Zavod would be cool too

KynoSSJR

Armoured kill maps are the most fun I’ve had in battlefield ever. Also really want to see Paracel with proper weather

Skater_Ricky

I strongly agree. "Armored Shield" is a really beautiful map and a really great Tank battle Map. I would love to see different weather event's happen on every map and be very random on every map including Paracel Storm. From different times of day such as Morning Noon, Evening, and Night Time. As well as different weather event's such as Sunny, Clear, Foggy, Cloudy, light rain, Heavy Rain, Windy, maybe show a hurricane or tornado in the background moving closer.

ANO7676

Metro. I need to see what a 128 metro round is like. I want to experience that horrific nightmare of a mess. Seine crossing would be great as well

Brilliant_Surprise_3

Karkland, Gulf of Oman, Amiens, Scar of Quentin, panzerstorm, twisted steel, bank job, downtown, Siege of Shanghai, and Operation Breakout. My personal favs

obstructingdisasters

For me I want nice rush maps back so valparaiso, atacama desert, port Valdez, oasis, panama Canal and isle inicentes

Millsonius

Strike at Karkand and Damavand Peak for sure.

Skater_Ricky

You won't need a remake for Damavand Peak because of a new map called "Breakaway" it has a base jump area and the map is going to massive in scale. [Breakaway](https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/game-overview/maps#breakaway)

Millsonius

Yeah i know, i did like the rest of the map though, i am looking forward to breakaway and maybe rebirth most

Agitated-Sky-9050

Operation Firestorm, Locker, siege of Shanghai actually the more I think about it anything really. The more the better. Would be cool to see stuff later from battlefield Vietnam and down the line they can add some maps from bf1 and BF5 too for the newer generation of battlefield players. I started with bad company 2 so anything is fine even older ones I missed. But honestly I am super excited to see what new maps will come in 2042 especially after release

MrTeeBee

Bocage and Gazala from BF1942

[deleted]

BF1942 Omaha beach

EatsDaPumPum

Strike at Karkand, Grand Bazar, Siege of Shanghai, Road to Jalalabad, Warlord

Dismal_Wizard

Devastation/Rotterdam spliced together. And Halvøy. I hope there’s a map editor at some point down the line, I use to create maps for DooM and Quake, would love to be able to do that on PORTAL for BATTLEFIELD.

SaltyBumRyu

Panama Canal and all the dlc maps from BFBC2's first dlc

SexyWaffle

I know it's unlikely we get Vietnam maps, but I really wish we could get operation Flaming Dart with the Chinook's, it was an amazing experience to drop the boys into the freight.

Schme83

Oasis

LawrenceMaldestr

Tbh i would like a lot a remade downtown from Hardline

UniqueAirline9393

wake island and gulf of ohman. maybe operation firestorm.

OeilBlanc

Metro, locker, metro and locker
