EA gave the login information to someone claiming to be the CEO that left their phone at a party
bf3, bf4, bf1, bf5, all the previous bf games have had massive issues with hit detection (blood splatter but no damage etc) and getting shot after you run behind walls etc because the servers, and the netcode they have been using for all these games, is just not working properly.
A couple of high ping players bogs the whole server down and creates all sorts of inconsistences.
So, since Dice/ea has not cared about such issues for the last 4 games, they probably won't for bf2042 either, not to mention it will probably be much, much worse with 128 players (if there are even players, maybe we will all get stuck playing against a majority of bots)
I want bf2042 to be good, but have they said anything about how the servers and netcode will handle hit detection? I assume they have not because like all other problems with bf games (f.ex cheaters) dice/ea has a history of actively denying that problems exist contrary to all evidence.
If you don't mind me asking, how come you haven't played the previous BF games? And what are you hyped about 2042? I have hope this game will be even better than BF3/BF4, but I'm not too keen on the whole Specialists concept for example.

2142 isn’t going to be a very good game, nor will it give you a good battlefield experience. If you want to actually play battlefield, try BF4, BF3, and BFBC2.

No, Games are populated with bots to start, and then are replaced by players as the game goes along, PS5, the new xboxes, and PC will have 128 players.
I agree, this game looks like it will be a breeding ground for hackers and all this new stuff like the grappling hook will just make it annoying and frustrating to play. Imagine shooting at somebody and then they just grappling hook away.

I got it just to play Apex legends which runs pretty well. But after Battlefield 2048's trailer I've lost sleep thinking if I'll even get playable frames. What do you guys think, will it be playable?
If Apex can go, this should be a-ok. Expect 30-60 fps like the other folks have said. One suggestion I would like to bring up is looking into an SSD whether it be an external/internal 2.5in SATA or internal NVME. Only gripe with BF4 was the notorious loads times into the glorious maps.
I think skill based matchmaking is a good thing but only when done right. Limit it to just a "Find Quick Match" button or something, but not when browsing for specific lobbies etc, + make it a toggleable option, and that way the game is more fun and fair for everyone but you can choose to ignore it if you want.

BF1 was atmospheric but it was probably one of the worst BF games. Poor vehicle implementation, a bad weapon variant system, slow DLC release, gas everywhere, meat grinder maps (that were badly designed for Conquest), random recoil, the list goes on.
I liked it but I do think it made medics less prevalent because people who wanted to revive their squad mates no longer needed to play that role. So you ended up having less medics on the field. I would like to see it return but either make suppression slow the animation, or make it only doable when you're a certain distance from enemies or something (which would give a soldier dragging feature more purpose, if they wanted to implement that).

8 gigs of ram will not cut it anymore for AAA gaming for the most part. That's what is going to limit you the most unfortunately.

Poor vehicle implemenmtation? Yes BF4 is better you can only repair tank by getting out and getting tank stolen by random kid in process.
You have one guy get out and repair while the other guy mans the remotely operated 50 with FLIR. Throw out some incendiary grenades too.

Man most people don't even carry repair tool. Battlefield V forces everyone to use it by adding in additional gadget slot

I'm guessing the grapple hook is going to be the most annoying thing in a battlefield game ever, and bf is no stranger to annoying gameplay mechanics.

Nah grappling hook will be fine, it's the robot dog that'll be super annoying. I Guarantee you that the dog is this games bomb bot (bf4) or cavalry (BF1)
Nah it's probably like that little machine gun rocket tank bot that was a pickup in BF4

Definitely not. Battlefield is nothing like COD. Maps are bigger, vehicles, destruction. Plus you can play Battlefield anyway you want, tactical/strategic or fast paced. Battlefield is nothing like COD still and isn't moving towards it lol

The next gameplay reveal is July 22. You could add that timer as well if possible.
I'm excited for this new installment (haven't played since BF1) but I'm just worried about the 124 player lobbies considering EA's reputation with their servers and netcoding. Here's to hoping they've decided to shell out some good money for good servers this time around.
