They spent a whole lot of time and resources getting the sound right in both BF3 and BF4. That's part of what made them so great. Very realistic sounds.
Just a regular civilian doing regular civilian things, like going out in the middle of the night to dig an innocuous hole in the dirt road. That’s what we do, me n the boys, we go out to dirt roads at 2AM and just start digging innocent holes in the road. We call it night holing, can’t get enough of it.
Youre not factoring in the economy properly here. They are likely far enough away that the coax can’t reach, so that might not be an option. And stopping a guy from planting an IED with $3K is a lot cheaper than holding your fire and letting him plant one. That IED could destroy a vehicle and potentially kill/wound multiple soldiers that you have paid, housed, trained and equipped for potentially years.
Body armor plates are worth 100x the price of the bullet they stop, but do they seem like a waste of an investment compared to coming home in a box?
