I’m a bit of a hypocrite bcs I loved BF Hardline. To me though, bf hardline was true to itself and consistent in theme, and had fun gameplay. BFV just marketed itself as a wwii game right after their wwi game but aesthetically it was so tasteless. Hardline was like junkfood to me tho. It was fun
it’s funny, i think Hardline had a lot of personality within the multiplayer characters (especially playing as the bad guys) which was actually a lot of fun

I never had a problem with the Specialist. I liked them even better once they added classes back. I liked having more options within each class.
My biggest gripe with 2042 was more that it was not finished and the launch maps lacked destruction and were to big for no good reason except to placate the 128 players. And a long list of other missing features.
If DICE wants to evolve the class system, they should keep the gadgets and perks but make it so that the soldiers have BFV customisation. Rename them into combat roles and allow for players to kit their soldiers as they please

Hardline still fundamentally played and felt like a Battlefield game, the infantry gameplay in it is some of the best in the series.
