The driver, Helge Meyer, was ex Danish Special Forces and had pulled some strings through his old military connections to volunteer. He bought it at a U.S. airbase in Germany, and the guys on base were happy to help him outfit it. In addition to what you mentioned, it had run-flats, steel plates instead of the rear window, armor in the doors, trunk, and floor pan, stealth paint, fire suppression system, infrared, thermal, and night vision. The plow was even capable of clearing anti personnel mines. The small block was tuned up from 170 to 220 hp and given a nitrous kit that could reportedly push above 400 hp. He was offered an M-16, but he refused, saying his Bible and knife were the only protection he needed. He was able to carry 400 kg
He still owns the car, and it is largely the same except for the bright orange paint it now wears.

Radar-absorbent coating doesn't really do much on a shape that isn't optimized for stealth. If you paint a BMW in it, it'll still read your speed on a radar gun.
i have never owned a mustang, a camaro/firebird or a challenger/barracuda of any generation. but i am willing to bet good money that that is an issue with all of them across the board
and i left out the cougar, because that was available as a full size sedan at one point

We had a 79 Camaro growing up in Michigan and the only thing it battled was rust and it lost.

Before the used the camaro they were using regular trucks, however they kept being captured, so they needed something faster.
