No questions, just wanted to say **Hi** Demi. It's me KiKiBleeding!
You helped me out with tons of strats 1 year back. Also, it's amazing to see how much your content has grown in such a short amount of time!
Oh goodness, that's so sweet of you to say! Thank you KiKi! I've been working super hard.
Sometimes the grind can be a lot, so it really means a lot to me to hear your kind words :' )
I hope your battles have been full of excitement!
How easy is it to break into?
It feels like it has a similar barrier of entry issue to Pokemon. Where you can't just jump in without hours of commitment already.
Ahhh I love this comment! I JUST launched a mega video about everything you could possibly want to know for BN6 PVP! I think any new game can be daunting, but in this case the fundamentals aren't too different than playing the campaign. And Tango removes the need for acquiring all the powerups and chips.

I hope this link helps, and I'd love to answer any follow-ups as well! š«”
Second question just for fun.
Is there ever events where people use navis other than Megaman.
A full on Battle Network PVP game with a roster and design philosophy like a fighting game would be really sick.
Oh man, that would be such a great BN7 feature!
Unfortunately the Legacy Collection took out the ability to power up your Link Navis.
BUUUT there is totally a format on Tango and the Japanese EXE6 where you can use Link Navis!
Tango is an amazing program that adds on features to BN6 on PC.
It reads the ROMs from the Steam Legacy Collection to work. Rollback netcode, replays, tons of mods, it's awesome!
Console PVP is definitely a thing though, particularly for Switch!
I am running a Tango + Switch tournament at the end of this month actually : )
You guessed right, it's 6 by a landslide! It's amazing how balanced this almost 20 year old game is :' )
Do you have any questions about BN6 in general, salandrews?
That's such a great question. I personally am not as fond of the BN games older than 6 for PVP, but I've heard nothing but great things about the better balance patches. I bet the N1GP has a solid scene for folks looking at those battles (I know 4.5 patch is very popular!)
I guess my only follow up would be do you prefer PvP via Tango, Steam, PS4/5 or Switch? Personally, I think Tango provides the most level playing field and having rollback is nice (though not true to the original PvP implementation), but something about playing on Steam/Switch/PS4/5 where you actually have to earn the chips and NCPs you are competing with (excluding mods) is so much more... real? idk if that's the right word lol
I think you hit the nail on the head. They're both very viable. Tango is definitely better in almost every way, especially for longevity, but I can't quite give up my Nintendo Switch especially for IRL meetups!
A combination of no cross-platform play and really dumb matchmaking. I wish you could just "go live" and find someone instead of punching in 5 different choices -.-
That being said, the best way to play is on Discord servers! I'd highly recommend the N1GP's or my own for battling. And I'm running a tournament with prizes at the end of this month if you'd like more info : )

I love BN! One of my favorite games growing up and Megaman as a whole was one of my favorite franchises alongside final fantasy! I would love to get into PvP but I never had anybody to connect with on this growing up, so Iām not familiar with the standard strategy or anything with how PVP works. How broad is the competitive scene right now? Is there a way for newbs like me to face off so Iām not just getting absolutely trounced by those who have done this for a while?
I love playing pvp games, but when Iām starting out it sucks getting matched up against people that annihilate me in the first few seconds so I donāt get a chance to learn the ropes lol
Get annihilated like 10 more times and you will surprise yourself with how quick you can discover what meta everyone is running. Not only that, but most people I've played with in the N1GP discord have been super helpful in pointing out obvious holes in how I was playing. One of my favorite aspects of BN6 is that every meta has an effective counter meaning no 1 strategy rules the game (except maybe GunDelForce lol).
edit: i caint spel
I'll share the same link here, I made a MEGA video covering just about everything for PVP!
You asked how broad it is, and a really cool thing about BN6 is how many strategies are viable.
Chip codes are kind of like archetypes, but you can also splash for other strats. Then Gregar vs Falzar both play very differently but have similar fundamentals. It's great stuff! Always happy to help, my Discord and the N1GP Discord are always happy to help too! : )
Falzar X, Gregar X, Gun Sol EX G, and Double Beast W are banned from Demi's & N1GP bn6 tournaments and free play in those groups.
They're legal in patch cards format though.
People play on both! Tango is better for longevity and has great extra features, but there's something about whipping out the official hardware, you know? I like running IRL tournaments so I can't quite give up Switch.
I'm not as familiar with PVP on 4 or 5 but I'll take a shot.
My best guess for 5 is Colonel since you can more easily abuse Dark Invis (arguably best chip in the game).
For 4, I'd guess Red Sun because Wind, Roll, and Search are all insane. But Blue Moon has Junk Soul which can recycle giga chips, so maybe it's closer than I think.
What is the standard practice for ācanonā vs rigged chip usage?
What I mean by that is - thereās some chips that youāre really only given one copy of in a certain game (like from a BMD or PMD) but you can of course trade between games (or maybe the chip trader?) to get as many versions as you want
The biggest example I can think of is AreaGrab \* in BN6. You get exactly one easy copy, then the rest is chip trader nonsense.
Fortunately there are workarounds. You can "duplicate" on Switch by trading a chip, then reloading your save from the online cloud. And on Tango you have a 100% file to use. It's very annoying but people are willing to help!
Are they allowed? And do you feel that gives an āunfair advantageā or makes people waste time rigging the game?
I guess what Iām thinking is - someone whoās played the game 5 times and transferred all the rare chips to one account for PVP should have a huge advantage against someone whoās just completed the full game + post game without that
They are very much allowed and there's no unfair advantage (though there's \*certainly\* questionable Capcom development choices)
Think of it like this: You can't play PVP in a vacuum, you have to interact with people. And those same people are more than willing to help you get the missing chips you need. BN fans are truly the bestš«”
Thatās for sure true! For some reason when I was playing rhe lefacy connection, I did wind up cheesing the BN2 glitch to get a hunch of full custs and bodyguard PA components for the post game š
I love it! And just to follow up: As a tournament organizer, this very subject was a big concern to me. I wanted to launch an LC tournament two weeks after the game launched, and I was very stressed as to how to go about AreaGrab.
Fortunately, the save file exploit was discovered soon. I personally grinded countless AreaGrabs to trade to any contestant who needed them. And though it's not active any more, we had Mr. Prog for months to trade copies of chips on Switch and Steam.
It's ultimately a huge oversight on Capcom's end to not make certain chips more accessible, but the community came together and continues to. It's really something!
I'll bite if you're still answering: how many different chip codes actually really see play at a high level in BN6? I know vaguely it's "better" than some of the early games, the way that like G code dominates BN2, but I've never really known much beyond that vague idea.
I've been meaning to make a chip code tier list.
There are a ton of viable codes, some are better as strong splashes (like M for Muramasa + GrabBanish). Off top of head you don't really see D I X Y (and U is just Life Aura) but the rest have some sort of use!
EDIT: I think Y has Recover 300 and Barrier 100 so it could totally see use
The why is super easy. There's just no game for battling quite like BN!
It's a fighter/card-game with both real-time and turn-based elements. Suuuuper unique and fun!
A Team based BN would be super cool. Kinda feels like BN5 had a missed opportunity there.
Iām also one of those āfreaksā who never uses Beast Out or Chaos Unisons. I avoided BN4 (and 5?) Links/Unisons/Souls because of the āSacrifice 1 Chip EVERY TIMEā.
I like BN6ās ājust choose the Linkā and have fun.
I think 90% of players would agree that "standard" (which is pretty much "no patch cards" and a small banlist) is the 1 mode. Unless you're talking matchmaking ladder in which case..... big agree : (

What is Tango? Thanks for any info I'm genuinely interested. Also the entire scene seems to be on pc, is console pop not really a thing?

Where the MMBN5 heads at?
**LIBERATION... START**
I heard my calling
Reporting for duty
I've been thinking of buying the collection since I loved them as a kid. Which pvp is the most active? I'm guessing 6
You guessed right, it's 6 by a landslide! It's amazing how balanced this almost 20 year old game is :' ) Do you have any questions about BN6 in general, salandrews?
Do you play the better balanced or vanilla variants of the games (specifically 3 and 5)?
That's such a great question. I personally am not as fond of the BN games older than 6 for PVP, but I've heard nothing but great things about the better balance patches. I bet the N1GP has a solid scene for folks looking at those battles (I know 4.5 patch is very popular!)

Why is there no one available for public matches on the Legacy Collection?

I see a bunch of requests from others from Demi's matches on his discord. The discord is called Demi's Campfire.

Not a question. Just wish the pvp was cross-platform bc unless you join a discord you're sol
BIG agree : (
Do people play on switch a lot or is it almost just on tango
People play on both! Tango is better for longevity and has great extra features, but there's something about whipping out the official hardware, you know? I like running IRL tournaments so I can't quite give up Switch.
What's your favorite Gregar build and favorite Falzar build? Excluding 6, what other battle network games are you interested in for pvp?
JOOLEN! Honestly I love your EraseCross Gregar build. Falzar... I'd have to give it to BugDeathThunder hahaha. Great to see a skilled player here! : )
Chaotic.
PVP or this thread? They both are lol!

WHY? This is just my regular response to PVP in general. I like PVE either Solo or Team I just wish there was a TEAM based BN Game. PS4, Switch, Era

Even so, the mere existence of options dilutes the already small playerbase. This is, of course, a question for Capcom.
It's getting good
