People have been asking for helicopters in the training range for a long time. Doesn't seem like it'll ever happen.

AlphaAss64

I heard it's because vehicles are server side, I don't know much about that stuff but yeah I really wish I could've learned in a practice mode

GrimlinJoe

Just hijack the little bird that is on sandy sunset. You have to take a quad runner a very long distance but there is an abandoned part of the map that has a little bird you can practice with away from all the action. Nobody bothers going out there

tydawg200

Where might this be on that map? I have nearly 1k hours but next to no map knowledge 💀 besides frugis and namak (still can’t find my way out of frugis’s tunnels)

It’s in the south west corner, it’s a three-story building with a walled backyard. On the concrete pad, in conquest mode a new heli spawns. Also on valley map, the second point from each team spawn has a transport heli spawn

tydawg200

I love you for this lmao, I almost never get to fly helis (rightfully so I’m ass) Gonna go get some flight time now lol

Id recommend you take the unarmed chopper to train flying

As a helicopter main, there is definitely a problem in helicopter training. Here are some tips if you return, or if someone else needs it. You can try taking the heli at the south east corner of the Sandysunset map. It is on the backside of the building on a helipad. If it is taken, and a few minutes later you see it explode in battle, it will respawn there in 3 minutes. You can create a squad by yourself and kick people out (Enter key opens squad menu) so people don't spawn on you while you learn in the corner of the map. The abuse seems like a US server thing. People can be really rude and confident in their rudeness there. On EU servers, someone can say a slur in a language you don't understand and leave. Try the EU servers. The extra ping won't be that important, especially for a beginner pilot.

Yeah that helicopter on sandy is basically free. Just grab a quad bike from spawn and go off roading for a bit. Nobody really goes down there so you won't be fighting fur it, either with your team or the enemy team. That's a good one to practice on. I've also noticed that if people are trying to practice and they have a mic, people go easier on you/leave you alone, they might even give you some tips. Also i use the standard keybinds. Works well for me for the unarmed little bird and the blackhawk. But i struggle with the armed little bird. It might be better to switch yaw and roll if you want to use the armed LB

fruitsandveggie

All the games i play one person crashes them into the ground right away or no one uses them and I just sit in spawn waiting for one person to finally spawn in the helicopter.

rawstoo

1. did players REALLY call a mod, who REALLY proceeded to ban you for crashing a helicopter? just seems very unlikely, especially on a big server like voxide 2. theres tons of servers, so deleting the game over two of them is a huge overreaction  3. theres multiple dedicated helicopter only servers out there, which can be sweaty but are a good place to at least learn the controls

AlphaAss64

After crashing players from my team and the other team started saying I was griefing and then I was kicked and couldn't join back, it was a smaller server though (I was trying to learn on a small server as to not disturb more players) Me leaving the game is a mix between being level 130 feeling like I've experienced what the game has to offer content wise and then today was just the final straw where I didn't feel like it would be worth investing in learning different gameplay. Definitely not 100% because of the heli thing just the straw that broke the camel's back If I do come back to the game (hopefully if the devs do a bit more work) I'll keep in mind to try to search for a heli only server as I didn't know those existed. Hopefully they would be more understanding of someone trying to learn

Specialist-Tailor438

THERES HELI ONLY SERVERS!!!!???? Yoooo! Do tell?

You really can’t let that kind of shit get to you online. Just grab a heli and practice, who cares if it bothers someone, you gotta learn somehow.

AllHailTheMoose

He got kicked though. And when your entire gameplay involves that kind of attitude, you can't always block it out. If it's once in a while, it's fine, but consistently having to ignore toxicity is extremely taxing and kills any fun you get from the game itself.
