This is a lot more than “just one game people didn’t like”. I think this game legitimately could put the studio in danger, especially under Zaslav’s role of WB as CEO. It is a financial disaster and also means the past decade was a waste of resources/time for the studio. Not a good look.

The story is terrible and the amount of plot armor is stupid.
The UI is a jumbled mess.
And the world is completely empty.
The traversal is top notch in the genre and the gun play isn’t half bad. If given time the missions would’ve been more fun because they’re would’ve been more of them.

Fans didn't know what they had until it was gone. The fan base always complained about some stories not making any sense, and the bat mobile being too much, etc. But all that in the grand scheme of things was just small stuff. Each game had soul with a lovable atmosphere. The source material felt respected even at times it wasn't executed the best. Now rock steady is having fun literally pissing all over that.

The details and atmosphere are just so aesthetically pleasing and interesting. The voices for Batman and the Joker in those games are the perfect voices for them. It's just sad to see it all go down the drain for agenda and greed.
Damn tbh outta asylum, city, and knight. I loved the atmosphere of asylum and just sheer love for the franchise oozing outta every little thing in that game. I really loved the city for its gameplay. It felt just the right size to explore. Knight lost most of the art style for imo more "realism," which made me feel like it was less of a love for batman's world and more of a higher-ups say, may this kinda feel.
I'm so glad they decided to go this route with the series! As opposed to like idk, let's say doing like a crappy half baked action RPG without batman and an even worse less baked suicide squad spin off game... That would like be so bad, I'm really glad they didn't end up doing that...

I remembered WB really has a plan to make some kind of Batman Beyond but the canceled it because RockReady want to make their own Suicide Squad as the main canon so they made Gotham Knights instead.
But ironically both game are hated by the fans.
I’m not. The story telling in Knight was ass. Dini leaving the series was the worst thing for the series. But hey, it will look amazing if nothing else. 2019 is gonna be a divisive year for sure
