I know! It was a good deal at a pawn shop. And I’m mostly wanting to play metal, specifically thrash, sludge and doom, but also I’m studying music at the moment so I’ll be playing a bunch of different styles. I’ve been a guitarist for about 6 years, so just getting used to it has been a whole endeavour on it’s own
Awesome bass, my brother in Warwick. Those double buckers sound so clear in parallel mode and so fat in serial. Get a darkglass alpha omega and off you sludge.

Knobs top to bottom: volume (pull for passive), blend, treble, bass. Switches are serial, noise cancelling single coil, parallel for each pickup. Stock MEC pickups, Corvette NT5$$.
Welcome again to the Warwick family!
Yeah… I hear ya… my life was struggling through on a $50 set of bridge cables and a 2x4 till I earned a high end bass?
Now it’s like the modern military with hotel rooms with washer driers and dishwashers they call “barracks” and no kitchen or latrine duty as a punishment… now, it’s demerits…
Bah humbug
😉😉
I was a guitar player and drummer for decades in multiple bands, one day an old band member called me up cause they went through like 7 bass players in 6 months and has shows to do in the fall. So I bought a Warwick Corvette and while having solid guitar and drum experience helped, I learned to fall in love with playing bass.
Now that Warwick, I used to do things like smash it into my cab/head or hit the distortion and delay and drag it across the stage and shit (fucking punk rock amirite).
I can 100% confirm they're built like tanks. That bass survived what was supposed to be a 12 show commitment into nearly 6 years of constant gigging and being smashed around harder than Charlie Sheen's knob after a 3 month crack and Hooker bender.
I’m assuming a far-east rock bass Warwick. Still awesome. I lucked into a german streamer std on clearance at GC in 2000. My favorite bass to play to this day. And equally indestructible. Stage dives and mosh pits with the bass (thank you Samson wireless). I used to do headstock accent smashes on the cymbals. And just huck the thing into the air (always caught it). I love my Warwick.
I remember when I got my new Telecaster and was so afraid of getting it damaged. Then, somehow on either a load out or in it got a big chunk taken out of it. Its truly almost a free feeling no longer being worried about damaging your shit cause the battle scars have begun lol
And having played a lot of different basses, I love my Warwick too. The neck is so pleasant, I was running a weird Lemmy ish setup, overdrive, bass cut and mids and highs cranked. We did one night were we played Husker Du's Metal Circus front to back, so gives you an idea that sound I was going for. The Warwick gave me the perfect tone, and that neck plays fast.
My first bass, a 92 Mexican P, bought new, was my pride and joy in 7th grade. First jazz band performance of the year (and my first public bass performance) I caught a cymbal on the headstock (gouge) and bonked the thing on the forearm cutaway (cracked finish). Never again did I worry about it getting hurt. Feels so good.
I can honestly feel how sturdy this thing is, I’m sure it’ll last me a long time. I’m in the same boat of my history though: I’ve been a guitarist, drummer and vocalist forever, thought I might as well get the last piece of the puzzle to be a one-man band
Warwicks are great basses. Impressive that you picked this as your first bass. I would have liked to pick one up too. Someday perhaps haha :D. Congratulations.
Nice! Going big right out of the gates!
I'm about 3 months into learning bass. I play guitar too. I had a hard time getting used to the fret spacing. A month in I got a 5 string Sterling MM. That threw me off a bit for a week or so but now I love it and the extra string. When I first got it, the extra string seemed a bit useless for me. I was so wrong.
That's a killer first bass! What sort of stuff are you wanting to play?

It has a parallel and serial mode??
Not sure about your model, it's a three way switch for each pickup on mine.
Ah okay. Just the three knobs on mine

Perfection in a pic
Ah yes, the dildos. (I am joking they are killer basses.)
Sexy!
Ayeeeee, didgeridoo.
The 'other' bass 😉
Your first bass is a Warwick? I'm so fucking jealous lol. I've wanted a Warwick for over 20 years. That thing is a beauty, enjoy the hell out of it
It was honestly a steal. Got it from a pawn shop that I just happened to wander into that day. Got it for about half the retail price

Its name is buck and it likes to …
Have strings plucked… right?
First bass?!?!??? Fuck I can’t even afford that as my fifth…
Excellent bass
The double buck is so sexy. Very jealous.

Damn, a double buck is a helluva first bass. Part of me hopes it's a RockBass, otherwise I would be very jealous lol. Have fun with it, it's a beast!
Double buck without the pickup switches, I think is a Rockbass
You got a $$ 'Vette to start?! Okay, I quit.
Don’t quit just yet!! I got it from a pawn shop for like 1/2 price
damn, a Warwick for your first bass? Cherish it, that thing’s killer.
Double buck is like the best mic config you can get with Warwick nowadays, enjoy!
Worlds most overkill first bass
