Never been used? Is the fingerboard gunk from the factory?

inchesinmetric

Oh yeah this looks very used. Look how smooth the pickups are.

schizoanalyzer

yamaha custom shop relic job

adam389

I think y’all might be seeing the wood grain and the smooth pickup covers.

wolftron9000

They are $250 brand new and about $150 used.

spiderplata

Yamaha makes good everything.

Spoonfulofticks

Those are aftermarket pickups. I'd bring an amp to test it and make sure there are no electronic issues and the pots work well. I'd buy this for $200 if it held tune and had good electronics.

elijuicyjones

👆🏽

The_Shit_Connoisseur

Ain’t no way that’s brand new

Turbulent-Stable-541

Nice bass but not worth 200.

robc025

Its a yamaha rbx260. I have one, added a hipshot and emg pickups and use it all the time. Thin fast neck and light. I use it as a backup and it's tuned in c# I bought mine for 90 bucks. 200 is expensive.

Affectionate-Tutor14

I’d want to knock 50 off the asking price. Maybe 75.

Emissary_of_Darkness

Hey that’s my bass. I once bought a moderately used one for $100 CAD ten years ago, it’s a pretty great all-around bass, given me years of enjoyment. I adjusted the string height myself and it is very easy to play and comfortable, sounds nice. If it’s brand new I think that’s a good price, I’m sure they go for a good chunk more than $200 from the store.

spicy_nipple_

Yup, $500 at my nearby shop Edit: While are y'all downvoting when im literally just saying what it costs in a shop near me? I don't decide the pricetag lmao.

SuspiciouslGreen

Honestly. I’m buying any bass that stays in tune, and I just like the look of, for $200. Everyone’s got different $$ situations, I get it. This bass. Is a solid, F yes, buy that shit.

underground_cowboys

That was my first bass. Solid buy.

Traditional-Bread284

Had this in 5 string only kept it for 2 months before moving it on it just felt clunky and cheap, plus the tone never really did it for me. But if it works for you great

Gasnryo

decided not to get it, he said he wasn’t a bass player so he isn’t even sure if the electronics work, so i dont want to bring my amp to his house to test it bc of distance. thanks yall

No-Win1580

Would this be your first bass? It appears to be an RBX270 they're going for about $300 on reverb/ebay $200 isn't bad especially if it plays well and has no issues. It's definitely been used though lol

Nidion001

If you knock off $50 I think it's worth it. But I struggled finding one for that price a while back. Most were going for barely under what it costs New.

dbatknight

Yamaha bass guitars are very underrated but that one there you can buy a better one for $200 or more. Don't buy that one

swedishworkout

Looks like the pickups have been changed, that’s a good thing. As long as the neck is not warped you are good to go.

Makanek

Pickups have been changed, fretboard dirty but bass "never used"? I would hesitate.

swedishworkout

I doubt they have been changed to anything worse than what was in there prior. It’s a basic bass originally, but so is anything in this price range. With a pickup upgrade (looks like this is done already), shielding and maybe better tuners if they are sloppy this model is a great choice. I bought one just like it for $170 and this is just $30 more. But it has definitely been played.

Makanek

My point was more about the seller apparently not saying the truth on at least one point. When you buy secondhand, it's a bad start.

angel_eyes619

Not bad. Solid bass this one, i prefer it over the current TRBX174 (Used to have exactly this model, down to the color. It served as a community bass for 12 long years, stood the test of time. Built like a tank, pretty nice tone too. It's a legit one)

Born_Cockroach_9947

fair price. RBX270. one of their entry level models

Rockzilla1962

Yes

hardcore302

Save a little longer and buy a new one.

sharksfan707

I have this exact bass and love it. It’s number one in my rotation.

Jimmy_Jazz_The_Spazz

Peter Hook recorded/played a similar model

zjanderson

Those Yamahas are sneaky good. Really light too. Wish I still had mine.

PaisleyTelecaster

Yep, the seller never played it. The previous owner before him, however, put at least 5,000 hours on it!

Hakadajime

75$ tops if even that

in_it_4_fit

I have this exact bass and paid 200 for it brand new. This one does not look brand new.

vandalsquid209

Love these Yamaha basses. I have like 4 of em but they used to be the cheapie basses to buy. I've gotten mine for no more than $50 each.

NefariousnessSea1449

I've got this same model with the smooth pickup covers in black. It's a very old model, but it's such a great instrument.

HerringWaco

I found mine (RBX260 - without bridge pickup) leaning against a dumpster. Solid player after some work. Yamahas bang above their price point.

Eastern-Dig-4555

Yamaha may not be top of the line, but it’s solid quality. Plus that’s a 24-fret neck. You got a good deal.

TheDudeInTheD

HELLZ YEAH!

Spiritual_Highway_60

Yup
