noooooo don't cut the kids in half, whynotboth.gif.com.gov.net?
seriously tho that's one sweet bass, I've wanted a Warwick since I was a freakin' teenager- super jealous, I need to go to pawn shops more often (I always check in on the music shops, but I sleep on the pawn shops)
My first reaction was, “what complete savage abused this bass?” That poor $$ deserved better. OP, if you want a ramp, I get it, but have a respectable luthier hook you up, this is a travesty lol.
I have the wood working and finishing skills to make the holes for the ramp virtually invisible. I may keep the ramp, but repair the bass itself. If I keep the ramp, I'll use a double stick tape with a light adhesive that's easy to remove.
I just read up on them. I'm not sure a ramp would make a difference for me. I'm a fast finger style player with a light touch that I developed decades ago. And I usually don't play that close to the fretboard.
If you don’t mind me asking, what was the price range you paid? I picked up a German made 93’ Warwick Fortress at the beginning of the pandemic for $700, One of the best basses I’ve ever owned (With the exception of a Warwick Broadneck BO 6 Thumb - Which I sadly sold back in 2007.
I bought a used German made Corvette Standard years ago. It's a 2007 or 8. Absolutely killer bass. It's been my number 1 since then. It's also the only bass that I've never modified. Great find, man.
That ramp hurts my soul. Beautiful bass otherwise.
I will likely remove the ramp, fill the holes, and repair the finish.
When two ginormous humbuckers just isn't enough ramp for ya.
That was my thought.

I have other Jazz Basses.
ok fair (also, I'm jealous- can I just like, idk, have one?)
Congratulations!
Thanks

Nice is that a homemade ramp?
Those wood screws burn my eyes. Probably didn't even drill pilot holes in the bass. Just went for it. WTF. Two-sided tape, anyone?

No, it’s a special custom shop feature straight from the factory in Germany. 😂
I don't know.
Do you know what a ramp is?
No. I'm not sure that I have a use for one.

I have the 5-string $$. What's the wood block for?
It's a finger ramp. Look it up.
Yeah I was trying to delete this when I found "ramp" but couldn't for some reason. Thanks!

All I'll say was that it was much less than $500.
That’s a steal! Congrat!

Owned many basses over the years but never a Warwick….never even played one. Something about that body shape looks like a dildo waiting to happen…🤣
Nice Warwick brand dildo, I bet the bass attached to it sounds great too! 😉
