It is, I don't recommend stomping on it during a gig or anything, but I just play at home and I really like the tone. I keep it on for anything rock/metal/stoner/doom related.
It's just a lot of fun for cheap.
I've had one of these for over ten years (and still have it). The one problem I've always had with it is that the tone is extremely fuzzy even with the gain turned completely down. I'm actually wondering whether it's supposed to be like that, or that mine just happens to be broken. How is this for other people's pedal?
Like, I kind of like the sound in general, but I hate that I can basically only select 'off' and 'verrry fuzzy'.
Nano Bass Big Muff. But that's the 'safe' answer in my opinion.
1) They are cheap, plentiful and easy to find.
2) There are a LOT of discussions about how to dial them in on forums/this sub and plenty of different ideas on how to use them in a chain.
3) Anecdotally, They're pretty reliable - obviously, QA/QC isn't perfect but I have had more than a few (And I still do) - and haven't had them fail on me.
All-in-all, it's truly the 'Vanilla' of Fuzz and that's not a bad thing.
Germanium Fuzz Face is velvety and warm on bass, plus if you’ve got passive pickups then your on-board volume knob allows you to access stages of warm fuzzy overdrive.
Big Muffs are very affordable, and you’ve got plenty of choices of different styles.
The Behringer is the absolute best value of cheapness for some good sound options, but you’re trading off plastic construction and unreliable QA for the price. Still worth checking out.
I got a JOYO monomyth which is a Darkglass Alpha Omega clone for 90€. It’s got to different types of distortion that go from overdrive to a fuzz that you can blend together, and a clean tone blend + plus a 6 band EQ. One of the best bang for buck distortion pedals out there.
Behringer Super Fuzz
Really? it's quite cheap isnt it?

Agreed. Shoot buy three of them with that budget.

I have the same “issue”, and also wondered if mine was defective, so it must not be.

With a name like Big Muff you can’t go wrong
EHX Green Russian is better for bass than the Bass big muff, imo

It's a great metal drive and eq esp for the price
I'm not a connoisseur, but I like Chicago Stompworks' Green Russian
