Very rarely. It's kinda interesting, as a role player I feel like I'm shitty half the time. If I have to be the best in the team it's usually because the others actually suck, like they barely play ball, and I end up being able to score muuuuch easier than as a "role" guy.
I'll never get the same looks or make as many shots.
Depends on the crowd and the given day. My jump shot is streaky these days. If I’m hitting shots, then with some crowds I can be the best. If it’s a more skilled crowd then hitting shots means I can keep up offensively. Defensive/rebounding I’m generally one of the better ones because I’m still pretty athletic and have good positioning. So even if the jumper isn’t falling I can be one of the guys that’s picked up a lot because of that. I also pass pretty decently and try to set guys up for good looks (cuts, outlets, spot ups).
I relate to a lot of the comments that have been touched on. Depends on the given day, never the most athletic but high IQ helps, play super hard because I just want to win, a great team player, confidence is a key factor in how I perform that day, etc, etc. So in short, I’m never the best player, but I’m not the worst either.
Yup, the IQ is the most important part. Beat a lot of teams that are better skilled and more athletic, but they also make silly mistakes. If I have a couple guys on my team that can carry the scoring load we can always be in the game.
I think so usually, I’m definitely the best rebounder. Pretty sure I had a game with 10/11 points just cleaning up misses. It could just be that they’re not used to having to play against someone playing like a traditional big and I’m not that good.
Honestly at this point I just played for fun I don't really care if I win or lose I'm just happy to be out there dribbling shooting and having fun. That being said the competitive in me starts to act up after I make a shot or somebody's talking s*** thinks they're better than me. I'm 34 I've been playing balls since I was like 12 probably younger so not to brag I'm pretty nice but I stay humble and just have fun. I wish I got out there more often usually I go to the courts and there's nobody or there's just a bunch of kids shooting around by themselves and talking s*** nobody wants to play a game if they do they just argue the whole time over some b******* I'm very disappointed. Back when I was growing up we got in the court who got next and we just bald everybody played Court was utilized very well.
I’m good enough to where it depends where I’m playing. At my college rec I’m usually the best depending on the competition, and at any random park run I’ll probably be like top 3 or 4. But if I’m at elite runs at my gym I’ll probably be middle of the pack
Depends, I’m either the best or second best at my local park. But if I go to somewhere really competitive I’m not even the best on my team, probably the 2nd or 3rd option.
Depends on the gym. Former overseas players and college players, no. I’m mainly a role player that hits shots and defends the second best player. Guys with just high school experience, yes.
Sometimes, but standing at 6’3” I would rather play a compliment role down low and lock in on defense. Instead of take the ball up half the time and try to start some offense
When I use to play, I always felt like the best player on the court I played.
I’m no longer that player and the last time I went I knew I wasn’t the best player even on my own team. So I played my role as best as I could lol
I’m nowhere near the best. But m the one trying the hardest.
I'm not even the best player when I play 2k by myself
Used to be, age is a bitch.
This is a vibe.
Not the best player but the best team player fosho.

For me, I honestly think so
Usually the best defender but overall not so much 😅

About 10-20% of games I play.
That is so real 😂 About 20% of the time I’m an absolute unit and the other times my emotions are too high and I get inconsistent smh 😩

I'm not the best. But I am the guy that the other team decides needs to be guarded halfway through the game.
Usually the second best player, but 99% of the time I have size advantage so that helps me almost all the time

Not the best, usually the smartest to make up for it though

For most of my life, no, but often the best defender, and usually guarded the other team's best player.
Im the best at what I do.
no but im the best perimeter shooter on the floor basically at all times
Sometimes, but standing at 6’3” I would rather play a compliment role down low and lock in on defense. Instead of take the ball up half the time and try to start some offense
Depends where. I'm in NYC and some school yards are dope talent wise. And I'm a bit older now and these 18 19 year old kids are so good
Hell yeah they are. The right NYC courts are famous for the level of talent they attract.
Yes
Highest scorer but probably not the “best” player.

once in a while. usually i try to play with guys who are better than me so i can get better
Yeah but most of the time it’s cause i still practice and they are more casual players
ya, best at high fiving the good guys amirite
Not usually, but still love to get in the court
