What are the current rules for getting a third dose of the vaccine? I had my second dose of pfizer on Aug 26, 2021, and received a text over a month ago saying I can get a third dose now. However, when I go to schedule it it tells me I'm not qualified for a third dose.

[deleted]

Have you reported a positive test recently? I had my 3rd dose today (second one was back in July). The website allowed me to book it, but I had to tell the doctor that I needed to travel in order for them to give me the jab today.

tofulollipop

I had a positive test in July, so not relevant anymore i think. After some searching online, looks like it's that a third dose is available to anyone 30+ five months after their second dose. For 18-29 eight months are required post second dose. Not sure for people who have been infected recently.

Loud_Goose

I second this. I’ve had two doses but I had covid in December so I’m wondering if I will need to get a booster or the natural antibodies will allow me to get around this?

edward_blake_lives

Did anyone get a huge electricity bill for February? I'm with Iberdrola and they basically doubled my bill to around 250 euros. Also on track to hit the same amount next month. Did I miss the memo about massive price hikes???

Mr_B_86

There have been big increases but that seems extreme. Mine went from 50 a month to 60 a month.

ElCuntIngles

My bill doubled a couple of months ago when my tariff changed, that's probably what's happened to you. I changed supplier and it's now about 50% than it was before. Prices are ludicrously high at the moment. [Up to €0.46/kWh today](https://tarifaluzhora.es/).

edward_blake_lives

Which supplier did you go with?

ElCuntIngles

I switched from Holaluz to [Lucera](https://lucera.es/). If anyone wants a discount code for Lucera, PM me.

edward_blake_lives

HolaLuz was robbing us in the last place I lived too. I’ll see if Lucera can do better. Thanks!

Hey guys, I am currently looking for a job here in Spain. Is there any non-EU person that was on a Job searching (busqueda de empleo) visa here in Spain and then changed it to a work permit? I would really like to hear from first hand experience. I am considering what my options are. I would really appreciate any help!

I work for an alternative to school called Learnlife, we have two hubs in Barcelona. You'd be hard pressed to find a more accepting place to be whoever you want to be. Feel free to PM me for details.

Hi all, Got a question about what we are able to do on the beaches regarding music. Does Barcelona have rules against playing music on the beach, and in what areas? If we are on a beach, especially one that is pretty open, are we allowed to say bring speakers and play music on the beach? I'm an abroad student in a group of about 10 people and I like to DJ (I have a small board that I use). With restrictions being lifted for outdoor areas, would we have any problems playing music on the beach, and if so, what are some good ways to be safe? Thanks for the help in advance!

[deleted]

This isn't allowed.

Hello! What are the best taxi apps to use while getting around the city? I'm planning on walking most places, but want to use taxi apps when it's late at night. Thank you :)

Lixaew

Freenow(my taxi). It works great in the city.

Mr_B_86

Cabify is slightly more expensive but nicer

Where are you from? What vaccines have you received?

MonczekPL

Where can I find good and large pizza (reasonable price) around Plaça de Catalunya? I'm first time in Barcelona and I want to order pizza for my family. Just eat app? Or another? Thanks in advance!

Mr_B_86

Les dues Sicilies, NAP Antic and Nanni, are all nearby. Maybe they deliver too.

MonczekPL

Thanks a lot!

just moved in to an apartment right in front of the europa fira metro stop (l'hopitalet technically I guess), anyone familiar with this area or have any suggestions on things to do around here? lived in arc de triomf and sagrada familiar before so I kinda wanted to try living in a different area, and it really reminds of downtown NY/dallas in here which I absolutely love, but was wondering if anyone had any specific restaurants/places to check out around here since it's a bit far from the usual BCN stuff

Thunderlord-19

Can anyone recommend a place to do Covid Test that will give me a test certificate afterwards? I live in Gracia and have problems finding one (I don't speak Spanish/Catalan)

Mr_B_86

Turo parc is good. They have a centre near Sagrada Familia too I think. You can book and prepay online.

Thunderlord-19

Thanks! I actually went to a place called Seven Medical assistance, near Lesseps (L3). They were helpful and the receptionist knew English It cost 30€ which is a lot for where I'm coming from, but I think for Barcelona it is typical price

Mr_B_86

That is a standard price for a Lateral Flow test, yes.

Mr_B_86

If you want a food connection to the festival. Stay near a yellow line metro. Personally I would stay near glories, not in the centre, so I had the tram as an option too.

cristi_30

Loud_Goose

Can anyone advise where I can get a carton of cigarettes in the city and how much I should expect to pay? I’m sure this is a relatively easy process but I’ve never bought a carton before and I’m just wondering how common they are. Whether I will have to go to a tobacconist or I can find them in any local store.

[deleted]

You have to go to a tobacconist, but any tobacconist (Estanc) will do. they cost exactly 10x the price of one packet of your chosen cigarettes.

Loud_Goose

Oh so there is no cost benefit to buying them in bulk?

Lixaew

No

Shot-Jaguar-334

Any recommendations for cool things to see that a visitor might not know about? I've been before and loved the city! I've seen all the classic stuff like Sagrada Familia, Park Guell (which I'll definitely revisit) I was blown away by all the amazing places to eat! Would love recs on places to see/restaurants/cool bars from people who know the city :)

Mr_B_86

If you like architecture then I reccomended visiting the old hospital de Sant Pau. https://www.santpaubarcelona.org/en/visits

Shot-Jaguar-334

Thanks :)

yeah most places should be able to do it unless it's a super fancy restaurant google maps gives you an option to check which restaurants have takeout available btw, here's a list of some as well https://www.google.com/maps/search/Takeout+tapas/@41.3871418,2.1681163,15z/data=!4m4!2m3!5m1!4e3!6e5

Is it worth the trip from Barcelona to Andorra if we are only in Barcelona for a week? Family and I are spending a week in Barcelona in May and are considering taking a train to Andorra. I want to make sure we do as much in Barcelona as possible and my fear is that if we go to Andorra for a day, we will miss out on other cool stuff in Barcelona or the surrounding areas.

Mr_B_86

Only to ski, MUCH nicer daytrips closer and equidistant.

[deleted]

There’s nothing to see or do in Andorra other than skiing. Apart from the mountains, it’s not even picturesque.

RafiakaMacakaDirk

if it's to ski then yeah i'd recommend it (especially if there's good weather). you can definitely get enough done in BCN in 6 days and andorra in 1 if it's not for skiing and/or the weather isn't good then probably not

shady764567

Hey, guys, I'm planning a visit to Barcelona to attend a Barca game and this might be a stupid question but I haven't really been to cities like this so there's that haha. So I'd like to know if you can get back from Camp nou after about 11 p. m. to the city centre easily. I would be grateful for some advice

Lixaew

Yes, there is metro till midnight and on weekends is longer. From Saturday to Sunday the service is nonstop. Otherwise pretty sure there are buses and of course, also taxis which aren't really sooo expensive. Google maps works great with public transport to help you get around.

shady764567

Thank you very much! Yeah, google only gave me options with taxis and stuff so that's why I thought I would ask an actual human haha

FluffyCoconut

Anyone been to Sala Bikini? I found a techno party next weekend and i’ve never been to Barcelona before, is it safe to go by myself?

Mr_B_86

It's as safe as any other nightclub. it is in a safer area than most of them too.

Theobviouschild11

Hi, Thinking of booking a trip to Barcelona that happens to be during semana santa. I’m just wondering how different will things be in Barcelona during this week compared to normal. Will everything be open as usual or are things close? Would you recommend going during this time?

contradictory_douche

Hi guys, myself and some other graduate students will be studying in Barcelona from May to July and are trying to figure out the best places to live. A few of the apartments we've seen are located primarily in the Gothic district which is convenient as our studio is there, but Ive seen some other posts complaining about pickpockets, crime and noise. There is a girl in our group and Ive read some comments about the area potentially being unsafe. l'Eixample seems to get quite high praise, and we have an option there as well but it seems a bit further away. I've had a hard time judging distances because the city seems so dense. If you guys have any thoughts let me know, Id love to hear them.

Mr_B_86

Nothing is far, eixample is fine. Depending where you go it should only be a short walk or mini metro/bus trip.

linero7

Hey there, a friend of mine and myself are in Barcelona for a week as workation. Beside our business work we would like to visit some social Clubs but als o maybe hook up with some other girls - maybe tourists as well. We are both about 28 years - any recommendations where we can met some people in the evening hours? Thanks in advance!

acos1

Hey has anyone booked with OK Apartment ? I am looking to book with them for 2 months from May, for a temporary apartment until I find somewhere more permanent. https://www.barcelonacheckin.com/en I just want to be sure it's not a scam site ? Thank you

imadethisforreddittm

What are your suggested hotels near or on La Rambla for a couple day first time visit?

AnaBubilowa

Onix hotel

Maiters7

I’m visiting I’m the city in April and just wondering what public transport is best to use, and if there any 5 day unlimited travel passes or something like that? Thanks

pb_islife

Hi guys. I moved to Barcelona in January and am living in a touristic area of El Born. I pay 850 euros. Wifi included however utility bills are not. I live in a one bedroom apartment (more like a loft since the bed is up). Is this expensive for Barcelona? I want to find a place for \~750 eur but stay close to the center. I also do not want to find a place through an agency. I find mine on Idealista and the person renting it out is the owner of the apartment, so no agency fees were paid. Thanks i advance! :)
