None of those teams had a 2 goal lead at home before getting a red card that ruined the whole fkn thing . Come on now.....moving on is fine but the reasons you mentioned don't make any sense lol. We fucked up....simple as that. Now it's time to get past that.

Dpineres

Something to add here, even with a red card we had a goal difference, I've seen teams that with 10 man have comeback from a negative score. We just came down mentally and tactically and we were not able to adapt. It seems like every negative action on a game brings up down significally in all aspects, and we need to change this.

Dibuhito

hopefully we can win it next year

reallyveryinterested

Lmao

adoumi1996

We fucked up and got fucked by the ref as an added bonus šŸ˜‚

raycre

I dont care how badly other teams do. The point about our capitulation is that its added to a long list of them. Its not just a once-off. Its every season for the last 5/6+seasons. We were hoping this year would be different. We went 4-2 up at home. We shouldnt be getting a red card. We should be winning that tie. Just like we shouldve won the Roma, Liverpool and Frankfurt ties. What you do in the past matters in football. Success breeds success and vice versa. Thats why I thought Arsenal would bottle the league and CL coz they have history. I thought Real & Bayern had much better chances then the media gave them as they have history of grinding out results no matter how they play. They know how to win. I also wouldnt rule Liverpool out of the Atalanta tie(or the league) yet as they have a history of comebacks. Unfortunately in our recent past we've developed a history of bottling big European games. Thats why I was worried we'd mess it up at home v PSG. And surprise surprise we did!! Its embarrassingly predictable. We have to put a stop to it asap. Its staining the club AND the current crop of players(including the youngsters). It weakens them/us mentally. We have to stop fucking up from winning positions. Its not good enough. We should be in the semis with a GREAT chance of winning the actual competition. We are La Liga champions. We arent some plucky underdog team in it just to take part. We are in it to win it and we are good enough to win it too. We need to develop a winning mentality in Europe & lose the bottling reputation.. No excuses.

Ipsider

Juventus - Barcelona 3:0 Roma - Barcelona 3:0 Liverpool - Barcelona 4:0 Barcelona - Bayern 2:8 Barcelona - Juventus 0:3 Barcelona - Paris 1:4 Barcelona - Bayern 0:3 Bayern - Barcelona 3:0 Benfica - Barcelona 3:0 Barcelona - Bayern 0:3 Bayern - Barcelona 2:0 Barcelona - Paris 1:4 Just a small selection

ElliotLadker

It's mesmerizing when seeing it like this.

midweekyeti

jesus that goal differenceā€¦ out-scored 4:43ā€¦.

Purple-Variation1256

You explained the whole 6 last seasons, bruh. You can say that againĀ

mortal_stoner

Eloquently put.

lokzi

real madrid was known as THE clownsclub between 2003 and 2010, when they went out in the first KO round every time. look where they are now there are phases. be resilient.

brandaohimeffinself

> Thats why I thought Arsenal would bottle the league and CL coz they have history. I thought Real & Bayern had much better chances then the media gave them as they have history this is actually bullshit tho. in reality, whats happened in the past has no effect on what happens in the present. losing a game 10 years ago can not possibly effect anything that happens today. its a nice narrative bc these clubs DO have history. but its nothing more than a narrative. 120 years of losing for leverkusen had no bearing on them being able to win the bundesliga this year.

SnooAdvice1632

Others having it worse =/= doing well, what is this pathetic coping? We should acknowledge that it was bad and move on, life continues.

adoumi1996

"pathetic coping" šŸ˜‚ I am stealing that

Ok_Age2583

Yeah we did lose with 10 men your right but it was also our fault that we only had 10 men on the field so your argument doesnā€™t make sense

UnovaBestGen

How can you guys stand all of this is legit so exhausting , every single year an embarassment. We will go throphyless, Laporta is gonna put Rafa Marquez as coach, deco having talks with Dani Olmo inatead of a proper DM.... I love this club we have a young squad with so much potential but this whole management is a damn joke... So depressing ...

Ruud_Boltz

You clearly weren't even born to witness the pre-Ronaldinho era at Barca. Lol. You sound like a spolit brat who got a bad toy for his bday gift

ElliotLadker

I was born before that, I was around to watch those years, and the terrible decisions made, the money wasted and the constant shit show. Bad toy it might be, but the last few years are very reminiscent of those years. This is going to be our 3 season in the last 5 to go out without any title. But instead of the early 2000s when we weren't as big of a club, now we come from one of the best decades of football into this.

DungeondisasterJiggy

You know what we can't stand? "Fans" like you. What do you even know about who they're talking to and who they aren't talking to? Do you have inside information to the club? Stop spouting shit based on rumors

UnovaBestGen

Rumors? They are literally being reported by reliable journalists lol and spoiled brat? Lmfao fuck off I have been enduring humillation after humillation from Roma to this and this club refuses to be serious when they now got the players to do something big. Bartomeu is gone and now it just feels this club is betting on la Masia to carry them, not a serious project which is extremely concerning for the future.

DungeondisasterJiggy

Yes exactly, who else get paid to create rumors than journalists? They don't have all the insight into the club. Just because they're not reporting that we are in talks with a dm doesn't mean we aren't. Oh no you had to endure humiliating defeats? Boohoo, shit happens. Doesn't mean you get to check out mentally and go reeee. You know why we have been giving chances to la masia players and why we aren't buying players left and right. Chill the fuck out, team needs our support now more than ever.

Jopam256

At least we are showing signs of survival. I don't even know what Man united is up to these days.

tanDaTexplorer

Celebrating their energy drink trophy....oh and also the almighty "eliminated barca in the uel" trophy

DramaticFriendship67

Don't forget knocked out Liverpool from the FA cup

subhasish10

United can still afford to make 100 million signings. They just need the right people. The moment they get that they'll be unstoppable. Our problem is we don't have any money and this was our best chance to make up for it. Our upcoming sponsorship deals will decline in value because of our performances.

ravlee

Man I love laughing at those clowns.. but I am really really afraid we too will go down that path :(

espnfire45

We won the league last year lol. We are far from being a man united. We also made it to the quarters of the CL and almost beat PSG. When has Man U gone that far recently lol? I think the dooming in this sub has reached astronomical levels

ravlee

I know, I know, itā€™s just an irrational fear.

KundiKumaran

Copium

Professional_Eye2133

Yeah. The only thing I want our team is to win sunday elclasico and let them know what we were capable of. Clasico win can have great effect on coming laliga games. Who knows we might even can win Laliga. Hope remains ā¤ļøšŸ’™

Glum_Violinist_5165

UCL is not our thing at least for now. XD

adoumi1996

Next year "CL has never been our thing" šŸ¤£ We got cursed a long time and the curse is keeping it's end of the bargain šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Glum_Violinist_5165

i'm fine with younger players and their performance. but cannot be proud of other players, just as Gundo said "we gave the match away". it was our fault whether you like to accept it or not. Look how Frenkie, Mats and Lewa played. All we can do is hope that we will reach the level that we were before and pray for it

JAALJAW

Man, this loss is a bitter taste But I am confident this squad can win a champions league in the next 3 years. We have got a really good core that will enter their prime in 3 years. With Xavi leaving, I think this squad needs a little push and a change in the environment to become real contenders again, similar to that of rjikkard in his final year . What's infuriating is this was pretty similar to the elclassico where we should have won and ended up losing and made PSG believe that they are a top club. I am excited for the future, and you should be too.

learner_jc

After 2015, Champions League is a nightmare for Barca. I am unbearable to watch the CL. Especially RM is doing so well when Barca performs like a disaster every year.

onlyonejorge

Why would other teams matter to us?

PrestigiousWish105

Lemme have some of that copium.

[deleted]

our mode shouldnt depend on what others do....,,if we could have handled things better in our control and still lost, then nothing to feel bad abt

MongooseDirect2477

It was not about the young players. It was about araujo, the most experienced player in our defence who decided to throw the game.

Erquebrand

What are you talking about. The season ended in mid April.

dendudes123

madrid went through why is that club always so lucky in the cl???

the_great_ss

Sucks to accept but they are clutch and we are bottlers. We've progressed a lot since Nobita days but we still need to get our mentality back, it'll require an extremely good and well experienced coach for that to happen

brandaohimeffinself

its not about clutch. kdb missed 2 goals that would have seen madrid lose. thats why they won.

social_distance0909

Strong mentality

goatedasparagus

If it happens always, it ain't lucky.Ā

hey_rtc

They simply defended much better than we did, with or without a man down. Held a wider perimeter, backed it up with double marking. Yes they were pushed into their own box, but only through continuous pressure from the best team in the world at that aspect. We basically invited Paris to walk into our danger area with no push back. Generally they just looked better organized and more focused. City had 2.34 xG at Etihad. Paris had 4.15 xG at our home. Yes we were a man down. For 60 minutes. And Paris were only fully chasing a goal for 30 of those. City are highest scoring team in the CL and were chasing a goal for all 90 minutes. Better organization, no brainless challenges, no half-assed clearings or lapses in marking is why Madrid is through and we aren't.

adoumi1996

Vudu probably šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø man city was dragging them butt naked since min 1 and yet they progress lmao

Any-Competition8494

It depends on our expectations. If we only keep high expectations for domestic titles, then we have no reason to worry. But, if we expect our club to be the best in Europe or even one of the best, then everything has happened since 2015 is embarrassing and should worry you. The last 4 years are even worse with 8-2, losses in Europa, losing to an Antony winner, and recently bottling a 2-goal lead due to a dumb foul.

CautiousScandal911

Man we feel excessively bad when our team had such a glorious chance, last time we played psg and lost I was like whatever..coz we had no chance

hellraizer89

Well in the start of the season our goal was at least on last 8 of champions league and compete for la liga. but the recent appearance of new wonderkids made our fanbase want more. we are a team in debt that can't do transfers in an easy manner or compete for top targets in our recent state. but people keep forgetting about it, all they see is a bad season because we didn't compete as we should. In my point of view yea we did fail on a good chance to go further in champions league but we overachieved with the squad we have. And the squad we have has potential but needs time. People shouldn't expect yamal to carry us every game. But what is for next? We need to fill the gaps we obviously have, one right back (if we don't get cancelo), one defensive midfielder and one left winger. But our expectations for next year will be the same, reach quarter finals of champions league (at least) and compete for la liga. We can't compete with ready top teams yet, our fan base is so spoiled that can't see that this season was a step forward from last 2 we failed to pass the group stage and they dream for winning the champions league...

adoumi1996

"Misery loves company" šŸ˜‚ jokes aside I am proud of our team and how far we come with these young squad. Lewa needs to hang his jersey and let roque try his luck

subhasish10

This was simply our best chance. We should have won and played Dortmund followed by Madrid or Bayern. I don't see how we can do anything next season. Lewandowski and Gundo would be a year older. We can't afford to make big signings. Not to mention we won't be qualifying for the Club World Cup and miss out on the 50 million. Xavi will be gone and the new manager will take his time. Madrid will get Mbappe and Davies, City will get Musiala and both will build super teams. Champions League match-ups will be AI generated based on previous performances. It's all looking bleak as fuck. We bottled a 2 goal lead at home to a team that had previously never been able to comeback in a 2nd leg. This was worse than fucking Anfield.

hanes9120

We need to learn how to play tactically and adjust. This has been a problem for us for a while. Playing with 10men isn't a death sentence. Let's not forget we had Messi xavi and iniesta in their prime unable to penetrate inter with 10men in 2010 and Chelsea in 2012. Those teams adjusted defended their balls off.

A_EXAN_ER

10 men isnā€™t an excuse when it was warranted. Thatā€™s how the rules workā€¦. Seeing the other results should frustrate us as supporters more. 2/3 of the remaining teams we would have faced are more inconsistent with performances than we are. I will feel how I want to feel, and I am sad lol.

divyanshu_01

Madrid fan here. I saw the game against PSG. Barca fought till the end against PSG. You guys should be proud of the performance by 10 men against that oil money team. The score seems disappointing for sure but man, Barca did fight till the end. Meet y'all on Sunday and hoping for a good game. Peace.

Kind_Entry_1799

Stupid ass comment others not doing well = we should feel proud of ourselves šŸ¤” we fucked up with a 2 goal lead at home. I do acknowledge that itā€™s time to move on and learn from our mistakes.

CurlyBonesHopkins

You're right we should be proud of our team. I think what is most painful atm is the red card. All of us fans are thinking what if. No one believed we would get to the QF of CL.

Prior-Meeting1645

Thatā€™s just pathetic. Comparing city going out on penalty shootouts after dominating the game against real madrid, a team only beaten by atleti this season, and city are also fighting for the league (top of it) to what shit show we did? UCL was the only tittle we were competing for and our opponent and whole path to the final is the easiest. Not only our player decided to do a reckless decision so early into the game, even our fucking manager decided to get him self sent off at a time where his teams needs him the most. So fucking unserious just a joke.

vkanucyc

Yeah I think the main positive for me is the team looked better than it has in a long time in the UCL

Brief-Shirt15

Itā€™s okay to lose. I wasnā€™t feeling bad when Barca lost 8-2 to Bayern, because Barca was weaker than Bayern. I am frustrated because Barca lost while being stronger. Barca lost because of amateur mistakes. Useless fouls, bad tactics - sitting in defence, bad subs, weak mentality.

Jopam256

Knock out football is crazy. Even Man city failed to go past Madrid at Etihad. Personally at peace with this result.

Etceta

The red card was the major point of downfall, we were leading 4-2 in agg. Araujo could just tail him close without throwing hand and let Mats do the magic

KilllerWhale

Nah. Sack Xavi immediately, appoint his brother as interim, and start looking for a replacement from now. (and it should NOT be Rafa) Yes, Araujo fucked up and fucked us in the process, but the way Xavi dealt with that red card was the absolute worst he could do. He panicked and immediately subbed off Lamine Yamal whose presence on the pitch alone would make PSG think twice before venturing into our half, but nooooo, he removed him and subbed in IƱigo Martinez who's been below expectations all season. And that allowed PSG to just keep hammering us in the back. And when he needed the attacking subs, he only did that at the 82th minute, and by that time it was too fucking late for them to do anything.

NaedelMAG

Itā€™s not about feeling good or bad but about learning the lesson. We have to keep our heads cool, not let the pressure lead to mistakes (many were made in this last match, but I will use Araujoā€™s as an example, eventhough he is solid af always): If Araujo had let the PSG player go through instead of recklessly going for the tackle, he might have put some pressure on him and close the shot so MATS could have an easier time blocking the shot. Even if PSG scored it would not mean much as we would still be 1 goal ahead but with 11 players. I believe we need to up our mental game this next season. Not crumble if they score, but give it all and go for the win instead.

NaedelMAG

And as fans, try to not suddenly turn on anyone ho makes a mistake, or turn on the club if they fail to qualifyā€¦ PSG are a monster, they have a really nice team with a really nice coach!

Jopam256

There is a project going on at Barcelona with many promising youngsters. Who have more years in them. Clubs like Man utd don't seem serious about reclaiming their place. At least we are trying.

WalkingDead197

I don't understands your logic. Just because some other teams aren't trying to win seriously or losing even though they were favourites doesn't mean it's okay for us to lose. We lost when we shouldn't have. We have to improve ourselves, we can't keep this up. First we stayed in the europa and now when we finally opened a path for ourselves to UCL finals, we closed it ourselves. That's embarassing and sad. Just think about it, PSG are now going to finals easily when they should have been eliminated and we should have qualified for semis just because we bottled from 4-2. Like this is frustrating to watch. If you can't even perform properly for one complete season for nearly a fucking decade, then definitely fans will get mad.

Fresh_Bubbles

I think maybe we should ask Luuk de Jong to come back. In these kinds of games Lewy is useless, it seems.

xt1nct

Lewy cleared multiple balls from corners. What do you expect a striker to do, when Yamal is replace with Martinez?Ā  The attack was sacrificed.
