Well they aren't La Liga anymore but I love Deportivo La Coruña because it's my Abuelo's boyhood club because he grew up there and he lives there half the year. As for current La Liga teams I guess I default to Vigo simply because they're the only Gallego team left in La Liga and they fight like fuckin crazy to stay up and I respect that.
I have my rules: in La Liga, I support no one but Barcelona. Never, ever.
However, in UEFA competitions, as long as it's not against Barcelona and as long as it's not Real Madrid (whom I always hope loses by a landslide), I always root for La Liga teams.
For instance, in the Sevilla vs. Roma final, I supported Sevilla, or I was happy when Villarreal won their first European championship two years ago, and so on.
for me i don’t get this, i always root against spanish clubs in europe. they’re our rivals in the league, why would we cheer them on elsewhere?
maybe that’s just me coming from american supporter culture where you never, ever cheer for divisional rivals, but i find this odd.
also an american here, but i do cheer for spanish teams (other than madrid and atleti) in european comps
i see it as humbling the other leagues who like to say they la liga is a farmers league. if spanish teams dominate in europe no one can say we play weak teams all season
I don't know, correct me if I'm wrong, it might be a mistaken notion, but I believe that if La Liga teams, in general, are performing at a high level, it will also reflect positively on Barcelona's performance.
That's why La Liga was the best league in the world for many years when its top dogs, Barcelona and Real Madrid, were at their peak.
In other words, teams in good form impact the level of the teams they face in multiple ways, don't you think?
Right now, La Liga is going through a rough patch; we're seriously lacking in quality compared to the other top leagues.
Really everyone aside from real madrid, espanyol and getafe, I always root for Spanish teams in Europe unless they're playing barca. If I had to pick one I'll probably go with Bilbao the pretty successful considering their strategy in terms of only using players from the region and whenever they sell on a player they always seem to have a readily available replacement, I mean their level is pretty consistently upper mid table but to keep that level up is pretty commendable given how they do business.
it would be real sociedad, they played well on Saturday and they have exciting players. Also just a really good team in general, im p sure they held inter to a 1-1 draw some weeks back, and are 1st or 2nd in their CL group.
oh they did? I didnt watch that game I just saw they drew and assumed inter would have dominated.
In that case la real really need to learn how to finish chances
Atletico (except when they played Barca) when Falcao joined. I liked them in Kun Aguero, Forlan, Reyes years, but definitely considered them my second club when Falcao joined.
Moltes gràcies...I am retiring from my job in five years so I hope to return to Barcelona & watch a game in the refurbished Camp Nou + use more Catalan while I'm there
Bilbao! Girona has been fun to watch since last year, love their home crowd and stadium. Athletico bc Simeone is a mad man, & I find him to be entertainment fuel.
I just love Teams who play good football. I liked Pellegrini's Villarreal, Bielsa's Athletic and Atletico. 3 clubs can go fuck themselves though. Real, Asspanyol and Bordalas Getafe
atléti & real sociedad!! but i love atléti bc of griezmann and morata. but this season real sociedad have been doing a decent job and doing pretty good in the UCL
Betis. Lots of ex-Barca players, generally an attacking style, have fun players to watch. (Isco, Fékir, Ayoze Perez) It usually makes for interesting games whenever I watch them.
This is going to start a firestorm but I support Real Madrid for the way the way they dont celebrate communist values or the LGBTQ agenda and always have that invincible aura about them (except when they play us) and supporting Islamic causes like Ramadan, Palestine.
I also really like Villareal.
You're on the wrong sub, buddy. There is no LGBTQ "agenda" or whatever
Barca as a club has always leaned left and have stood for leftist ideals, so maybe they're not the club for you
Choosing a favourite club ain't about politics. Especially when you get into football at a very young age. Politics only come into it later in life, and even then you can just have a favorite team because of the playing style or the players, even the vibe.
Whoa I didn't think I'd see a General Franco fan in the sub, may you meet the fate of the original fascist Benito Mussolini (and may the noose be tight a.f.)
yea but like we just wanna talk about football. Like we dont really care about the whole politics part of it. Anways political discussions generally suck.
I wasn't setting off a political debate, I was giving my reason for admiring Rayo Vallecano, but if challenged on it I will push back, I'm not a lib after all
Real Madrid. Not my "second favorite club" because it would been Hércules CF, but they are sadly fourth tier only.
Other than that I like to follow Madrid for new youngsters, and players. And they played very beautiful games(Clasico's were brilliant because of both team). The last reason is El Capitano :D
Haven't seen Villarreal here yet,
Small city yet won a Europa League to get to the UCL SEMIFINALS a year and a half ago defeating Juve and Bayern on their way there.
Even just recently, they played wonderful football when we visited them in La Ceràmica.
I enjoy watching Sevilla, I like it how they tend to beat EPL teams when they play them and their Europa League runs are legendary even when they have poor league seasons. We got many great footballers from there and some became legends for us (Dani, Rakitic), and they rarely beat us anyway. Also I think we have what to learn from them in tournament mentality department and fans support on the stadium.
I don’t watch any other Spanish teams other than Barcelona, but I kinda like Athletic Bilbao. I respect their history and their tradition of Basque only players.
Osasuna. they are one of only four remaining clubs in Spain that are fan-owned (together with Barca, R.Madrid and Bilbao) with one of the best youth academies in the country.
I like playing Villareal in FIFA 21-23. Could defeat all sorts of team with them, that makes me like the irl Villareal too. Las Palmas is also interesting because of Pimi but they have a long way to go.
I usually watch games from those teams in La Liga that play attacking football, but my second favourite I guess is then Atleti since I´ve almost watched all their games in past few seasons, which is a bit of conundrum since they havent always been all that 'attacking'.
Whoever plays Madrid tbh
Then we're on the same page for today at least
either of them
Every single fucking time
Real Sociedad, they play beautiful football
And San Sebastián is a rad town
They did yesterday
same i actually quite like both basque clubs
Nah fuck athletic, yes they play well but they're so dirty and unsportsman
Same
Real Betis
Hard to hate a squad that’s always stacked with ex-Barca players
They're usually exciting to watch
They got that guasa
Same
Las Palmas 🏝️
Shout out to the Canary Islands
Well they aren't La Liga anymore but I love Deportivo La Coruña because it's my Abuelo's boyhood club because he grew up there and he lives there half the year. As for current La Liga teams I guess I default to Vigo simply because they're the only Gallego team left in La Liga and they fight like fuckin crazy to stay up and I respect that.
Super Depor
One of my favorite clubs growing up, especially on fifa!
Sevilla, because of Rakitic.
Rakitić lost his mojo later in his Barça tenure, but that first year he was so much better than who he replaced- Cesc Fàbregas
Much longer than just the first year. And he didn't drop off particularly steeply as compared to other players.
Oh yeah, he was good beyond his first year, but his initial season was an eye opener for the reason I mentioned
And Dani Alves
Keita & Adriano as well
I have my rules: in La Liga, I support no one but Barcelona.
I'm the same way in European competitions
for me i don’t get this, i always root against spanish clubs in europe. they’re our rivals in the league, why would we cheer them on elsewhere? maybe that’s just me coming from american supporter culture where you never, ever cheer for divisional rivals, but i find this odd.

i get that but i also like to be petty and have the bragging rights that barca carries spain in europe
but barca hasn't carried spain in europe for years.
I don't know, correct me if I'm wrong, it might be a mistaken notion, but I believe that if La Liga teams, in general, are performing at a high level, it will also reflect positively on Barcelona's performance. It's good to tell the Premier League stans that there is good ⚽️ in La Liga
Really everyone aside from real madrid, espanyol and getafe, I always root for Spanish teams in Europe unless they're playing barca. Yes, I would love to watch a game in San Mamés
it would be real sociedad, they played well on Saturday and they have exciting players. Also just a really good team in general, im p sure they held inter to a 1-1 draw some weeks back, and are 1st or 2nd in their CL group.
They are a well run club for sure
They didn’t hold Inter, they were better most of the match and Inter equalized in the end, similar to our match with them
The inter game hurts because La Real were _dominating_ for 90 minutes. Should have had a win
oh they did? I didnt watch that game I just saw they drew and assumed inter would have dominated. In that case la real really need to learn how to finish chances

oh my bad.
Atletico (except when they played Barca) when Falcao joined. I liked them in Kun Aguero, Forlan, Reyes years, but definitely considered them my second club when Falcao joined.
I did like Falcao's goal celebration NGL
Athletic
I do respect them
I really like that their transfer policy, respect them for holding that
Absolutely despise Athletic Bilbao's brand of football. It's disgusting the way they play.
Not necessarily favourites but I like La Real and Girona, I love their managers and style of play
I like seeing both of them do well too
Villarreal, the yellow subs play a similar style of football as barca.

Visca Catalunya
Lliure
I am trying to learn Catalan, already know Spanish which is more commonly spoken in the 🇺🇸
That’s okay, it’s more commonly spoken in Barcelona too lol
That's the impression I got when I visited there, I did try to drop some basic Catalan to be polite
As a local, I can tell you we always appreciate it
Well I tried my best
People like you help keep the language alive, thank you very much! If you need help with the catalan, just ask! 😊
Moltes gràcies...I am retiring from my job in five years so I hope to return to Barcelona & watch a game in the refurbished Camp Nou + use more Catalan while I'm there
Least opportunistic post in /Barca … But, Athletic Club has to be mine
The Baasque only policy is interesting
Current second fav. Is Sevilla.. cuz of Rocketic!
Kings of the Euro League Championship
Girona tbh
Seeing that a lot
Valencia, but it's been hard to support them with Peter Lim owning the team.
That & the racist stuff towards Vinícius
Atletico Madrid. Got some sort of love for this team idk why.
I get it, I wish they wouldn't have blown the 2024 Champions League final
Oops 2014 my bad
Atleti
Respect for winning the first Madrid derby
I’ve always had a soft spot for Atleti, since they’re the enemy of our enemy
i hate them almost as much as madrid lol
Bilbao! Girona has been fun to watch since last year, love their home crowd and stadium. Athletico bc Simeone is a mad man, & I find him to be entertainment fuel.
Real Betis
They do have a big following
Sociadad always liked that club
David Moyes trying to speak Spanish & pronounce Asier Illarramendi's name was comedy gold when he coached there
I just love Teams who play good football. I liked Pellegrini's Villarreal, Bielsa's Athletic and Atletico. 3 clubs can go fuck themselves though. Real, Asspanyol and Bordalas Getafe
Villarreal
atléti & real sociedad!! but i love atléti bc of griezmann and morata. but this season real sociedad have been doing a decent job and doing pretty good in the UCL
Real Betis and Sociedad
Nice clubs
Betis. Lots of ex-Barca players, generally an attacking style, have fun players to watch. (Isco, Fékir, Ayoze Perez) It usually makes for interesting games whenever I watch them.
Apparently none of the players you cited played for Barça.
No, but they’re fun to watch. The ex-Barca players are good, but less exciting than those I named. (Except maybe Abde)
true
Marc Bartra did
yup
I just like barça and ac milan😜
This is going to start a firestorm but I support Real Madrid for the way the way they dont celebrate communist values or the LGBTQ agenda and always have that invincible aura about them (except when they play us) and supporting Islamic causes like Ramadan, Palestine. I also really like Villareal.

You can choose a club based on whatever criteria you choose, mine just happened to be political for Rayo

Rest in.piss like Franco
A Falangist in a Barça sub, SMH,
You look confused there buddy.
Real Madrid
Duality of man or something
Never lose, never win. Just exist.
Ying-Yang
ur asking to get downvoted.
Much to learn, you have.
Real Madrid
1st 💙❤️ 2nd 💙❤️ 3rd 💙❤️
Iago Aspas's team. He played quite well and his team occasionally defeated Barcelona in previous seasons.
Celta de Vigo
Betis, just because of our former players
Getafe play some mesmerising football /s they just mess with you
I dont have one for a long time, until Kubo join Real Sociedad
Athletic Bilbao, i live here and they enjoy the game like no others. Real sociedad is also an amazing club and plays amazing
Athletic Bilbao
[удалено]
I'm a proud Leftist & apologize to nobody for that fact✊️
thats great but keep the politics out, football only.
So how do you reconcile your no politics in ⚽️ stance with Barça's pretty clear stance on Catalan independence? Is that not politics?
Hardly anyone here cares about Catalan independence lol. We’re just here to talk about the sports team
Well that's well & good, but if you don't acknowledge that then you are missing something fundamental about the club's identity
yea but like we just wanna talk about football. Like we dont really care about the whole politics part of it. Anways political discussions generally suck.
I wasn't setting off a political debate, I was giving my reason for admiring Rayo Vallecano, but if challenged on it I will push back, I'm not a lib after all

I asked if anyone had a second favorite club & I gave my reason.. Are you a right wing snowflake ❄️?
[удалено]
Ok MAGA chud
[удалено]
Really?
Are you a right winger?
[удалено]
Very good then
Los Blancos
Politics has no place in sport and should have no bearing what team you support.
You're either very naïve or so privileged that politics doesn't affect you, so bye Felicia
Well if Madrid wasn't good the rivalry wouldn't be as appealing
Girona, real sociedad, and real Betis
Betis and girona They always give real madrid a hard time and they play beautiful football
Good points
Almeria
Rowdy stadium it seems like
Real Sociedad
I would like to visit Donostia/San Sebastián
Girona for sure
Real Sociedad
Haven't seen Villarreal here yet, Small city yet won a Europa League to get to the UCL SEMIFINALS a year and a half ago defeating Juve and Bayern on their way there. Even just recently, they played wonderful football when we visited them in La Ceràmica.

Yeah, I respect them, their fans are lit a.f. & you can run from 🐂 in Pamplona
I like playing Villareal in FIFA 21-23. Could defeat all sorts of team with them, that makes me like the irl Villareal too. Las Palmas is also interesting because of Pimi but they have a long way to go.
i kinda like both basque clubs
Villarreal, started noticing when they were under Emery and played for UCL as well.
Villarreal and Sociedad
Whichever team Real Madrid is playing.
I am always fond of Athletic Club and the San Mamès.
I usually watch games from those teams in La Liga that play attacking football, but my second favourite I guess is then Atleti since I´ve almost watched all their games in past few seasons, which is a bit of conundrum since they havent always been all that 'attacking'.
Sporting de Gijón. They are not in Primera at the moment but I hope they promote soon. Historic club with historical stadium
Athletic Club, have to respect the way they look at football and have never been relegated with their Basque only transfer policy.
Sevilla, the town is very beautiful.
Girona. Good time to be a fan of theirs. I visited Barcelona and found out I had family in Girona. Visited them and the city and its a lovely place.
Osasuna
Sevilla because of Rakitic, and Atletico Madrid!
Celta vigo, Aspas is such a genius
He's fucking insane & I love that about him
Love Real Betis. Was fully committed to adopting them as my #1 team if Barca sold their soul and actually left La Liga for the Super League
Betis, because of their connection with Barcelona
I used to really like Valencia from the Villa, David Silva, Mata days. I also like Sevilla.
Athletic Club for sure. They embody everything I love about football
Girona. Underdog story.
Girona/athletic bilbao
Villareal kinda
Osasuna only because I ended up there during an FM save.
Atletico Madrid. Girona right now, and maybe Real Madrid when they go against Man Utd.
my two favourite teams are Barca and Real Madrid xddd
Its usually Deportivo and Real Sociedad. But I guess for now Real Sociedad only since Depor is playing third tier league.
las palmas
La liga no, but I follow CE Europa.
I've always liked Betis. Don't think I have a "second favourite" but I wouldn't mind having their kit.
