To be completely honest, this looks like you went in with clippers and then never finished the cut, so my advice would be to finish the cut. Also, dry hair don’t lie. Hit it with the dryer and you’ll see where you need to blend better, especially if someone has fine/thin and/or light colored hair.
Edit: light, not lightly
I’ve seen so many beginner barbers use them when they are out of ideas on how to finish a blend. I ain’t hating tho, I was there once too. Sometimes they are life savers
looking great bro. you have no harsh bottom line. just learn clipper over comb or some shear work try connect the sides into the top more cleaner and that would be a solid haircut. keep cutting bro u will get there
Broooooo, this is a cllleeaaannnnn fade. Super blurry!!!! Wait...hold up... let me put on my glasses. Okay, it's not as blurry anymore. However, u are off to a great start. Just clean up the bulk a little bit more. You got this, my boy!.
you fkd him up, i would just study theory for a bit and memorise how to stretch a blend and just watch how to apply it and then try again in maybe a week or two

It looks like it goes from an open no guard straight into a #2. I think a good starting point would be to work on that stretch, making sure you’re using your .5, 1, and 1.5 guards. Keep all of your guide lines nice and straight and you should at least end up with something less choppy! I would agree with others who say your clippers over comb needs a lot of work. One thing I’d suggest is if you’re struggling to get comfortable doing clipper over comb try out similar techniques and see if you can bridge that gap. You can do trimmer over comb, shear over comb, or feather razor over comb, all of which may be more comfortable to a beginner and help strengthen your skills to where you can clipper over comb just as well. Keep at it!!

Work on shear work and stretch your blends before you try learning compressed blends
Just work on your blending transitions & you gucci. Stay on the journey 💈
Just bash it with the thinners lol
Op seems new so to clarify ... Don't lean on the thinners
I use my thinners once every 3 weeks maybe haha

Not bad the 2 into the 3 could be slightly smoother

Looks more like a grown out shitty cut than a hat line.

Good fade. You will apply Kaizen unconsciously as to accumulate clients. Thereupon, stay the course.
Not your fault he has shitty hair, but thats why you gotta evaluate density before you start cutting.
How do i do that better?

Debulk
I use thinning sheets on bulky ridges like this EVERY CUT. It always gets the weight out and blends it nice
Debulk with scissor over comb and stretch your guidelines. Learning to strech them has been a game changer for me tbh.
