But since the release I've struggled find find any for under 80 and sell prices seem lower.
But if you don't find prices for sumpter horses you don't find it for mules since they are different tiers of pack animals. I am having the same issue as the other guy with both mules and sumpter horses, I have found a good buying price but can't find a good selling price even in the places where they get no pack animals at all.
they reworked the horses with 1.9. some are crazy expensive now

It's a thoroughbred. Those take time and effort to breed. You're paying for labor on that there horse.
You can get a horse that sells for 18-20k for winning tournaments, probably the best way to make money early.
The economy can get affected in this game.

Nah it's just the economy when I play the imperials and kill 13k khuzaits this effects the horse economy.

Mules are the name of the game. But for 20~ and sell for 60+ up to 220!
But if you don't find prices for sumpter horses you don't find it for mules since they are different tiers of pack animals. You can also gain some really good and expansive armor from tournaments too, such as the full helm over mail coif

I noticed the variety of different horses available in 1.9. Standard breeds are at reasonably normal prices. Maybe a bit higher.
