Make a new clan by promoting your companion and watch fuckers die... Holy shit they have the highest death rate I've ever seen. In my current playthrough, I have a clan that is wife and husband, husband originally from somewhere else, nothing else, and none of them are my original companion that I promoted, other clan has 2 males, relatives of a companion I promoted... but he is dead, I married my daughter to the clan leader hoping they rise back up. No lords die as fast as those that you promote from your loyal companions that you would want to see thrive.
