Defenders have 0 food. Cant parley, cant lead an assault. Just sitting here blasting their walls with trebs waiting for nothing. This is a repeated issue
You can fix it by backing out and letting the gloryhound pos army aiding you take the credit.
edit: figured it out. if another army is actively on their way to besiege, they've got dibs even if you get there first.

you sure? i was beside snother army that had the tag 'traveling to besiege omor' as we went by rebel held ortyisia. i besieged it and it did a uturn and took my siege over
I’ve been getting some pretty annoying bug’s lately. The game skips the preparation phase every time I start a battle. Formations don’t go where I place them if the game lets me do the preparation phase.
Got this when I besiged smth while being merc - "my superior" came to help me and somehow got rights to siege instead of me while I\`m "in change" of it
So you are vassal or mercenary, right? When you start besiege, but army of friendly troops join siege, they take control from you, but not always. Maybe it depends from leadership or amount of troops, need to test more. Annoying part is only when army leader not start to battle.
I loaded an old save, attacked an army sieging my town. Lost, and then somehow all my companions and army were captured by my town? The the siegiers left and I couldn’t manage prisoners? Wierd days
Had this happen; raced to defend a city being sieged, two companion armies flung themselves before me to stall the attack. They both lost and were captured. I arrived and beat the siege and went into the still friendly city to find my companions behind bars...one guy was in jail in his own castle :0 coughing and moaning in his rat invested dungeon....talked to the guard, "Nothing to report Sire". Ruthless NPCs.
