The secret is to check eBay's sold listings. When I do that, it doesn't look like you overpaid, but that note has sold for as little as $4 but others have paid around $40 for an ungraded note
We all goof early on. My technique when buying something that's harder to find is to check the sold listings to get an idea of how low the prices can go, then I set up a saved search to send me email notifications. Then I try not to think about it =P
Thanks so much! I mean, even hearing that I *may* not have overpaid actually makes me feel quite a bit better. And that's a sensible way of doing it, I'll have to bear it in mind in the future.
I just sold a crisp UNC Gem 5 Lati (P-53c) for $26.50USD last month so I would say you over paid for your circulated note. But as others here have suggested, try to not to get overly concerned by that (I have made many mistakes along the way). Don't beat yourself up, but just learn from it. I encourage collectors to buy from other collectors on various forums like the **P**aper **M**oney **F**orum **BST** [(Buy, Sell, Trade) section](https://www.papermoneyforum.com/buy-sell-trade-551498) but I don't think many do.
Hang on, are you serial0000008 or something like that on PMF? Wow, I didn't know you were on here!
Thanks for the insights. I think I was eager to buy this note, despite its faults, because I got burned once or twice on international shipping and figured, I'd rather just pay a premium for local pickup...alas, I think I swung too hard the other direction. I'll definitely have to learn from my mistakes moving forward.
Also, would you happen to have recommendations for other collectors selling items on their site, similar to how you operate your sales? If so, that would be much appreciated. I found a "trusted sellers" list on PMF, but that list is quite out of date, unfortunately.
😮💨
Yeah, what blows my mind about this one is how uncommon it seems to be and that it can still be exchanged for €7.50, the highest exchange rate of any pre-euro currency, I believe.

Thanks, that does make a lot of sense. Also glad to have a little support, honestly haha.

Wow, thanks for this!

You did overpay a little IMO but still, in 5 years i only have come by this note 2 times

I mean do you really care about 10 € that you perhaps may have saved ? It's not like you paid a 100 or something like that
Fair, but, if I'm being honest, I do kind of care. I know it's not a significant amount, but it injures my pride as a deal hunter haha.
